I have a few rooted boxes and I use xposed to use spmc as my homescreen. My issue is that after about a few months of use the device will just randomly start loading to a grey screen. It is at this point that I have to mess around with the voice control button on the remote and unplug the wifi etc to get it back to the main amazon screen then force stop kodi and relaunch it. I am not sure what causes this issue but it can be quite a hassle getting the amazon screen back when I use kodi as the default launcher and the screen gets stuck on this grey screen. I've even had to do a restore on some, luckily i have rbox bootloader on my boxes or I would probably never be able to get back to it. Does anyone have this issue and know of a remedy?

I have managed to import ROMs correctly and have artwork etc using Rom Collection Browser.
I have sideloaded Retroarch emulators on the AFTV so that should be installed. Before this the screen would go into windowed mode for a couple of seconds, then just go back to the menu i was on, it wouldn't reboot, but nothing would happen.
But whenever i choose a game now it just reboots XBMC. Anyone have any help im completely stuck?
My AFTV is a UK non rooted version if that makes any difference.
I just installed the new release of spmc 15 isengard and it is running very inconsistent. It often freezes on the homescreen and if I jump to the amazon home screen and then try to go back sometimes it will give me a blank grey screen and require either a force stop or a restart. Has anyone else tried this or even the standard version of kodi isengard as I think they are pretty close to the same thing at this point.
I've been running standard Kodi 15.0 with PlexBMC in the Amber skin for a week or so, so far no issues.

Did you install it and just do a fresh install or did you restore your previous setup? I think the problem happens when I restore my setup after a few freezes and restarts and everything is fully updated it seems to stop. It still gives me an issue launching the sacrificial app with llama however.
It was a fresh install, not a restore.
Yup, the oem version of Isengard is laggy on the box and stick...I had a flawless Kodi setup before I upgraded...
My Kodi has been acting weird lately. I have been getting a black screen randomly when I try to go back to my video files. Also sometimes playing a video will go to a black screen. Pressing the center button doesn't show the onscreen controls anymore. The only way I can get the controls to show up is to press back button. Then the Menu selections show up but I have a black screen in the background. It's almost as if the default blue bubble background screen has been erased.
I have tried to delete kodi and reinstall and gets the same problem. I have tried SPMC and it seems to get the same problem after a few days.
Anyone knows what might be causing this?
Same issue here. Are you using the Krypton Nightlies?

No, I'm not. I have been using 16.1 that is the stable release.
What is weird is that I have tried SPMC and I get that black screen also sometimes. I also noticed that my Nexus Player seems to get this to happen lately also. I think the Nexus Player uses a different KODI since it's Intel based but I still get the same problems.
Do you think there is a problem with Kodi in general?
I'm having the same problem! It sucks. And I'm not very tech savvy lol if anyone figures it out please relay the info ?
I've been struggling with issues on this AFTV for awhile. My other AFTV is problem free. It's got to be something in my setup but no idea what?
Old issues:
Kodi could not be launched from the main menu. It would crash everytime if I did this so I needed to launch it from settings/manage apps after force stopping it.
***I also couldn't plug in my usb stick or it would revert to a blank install (no video sources, no thumbs, stock skin)
--This I attributed to a glitch with the way I was storing my thumbs on usb but no matter how many times I tried to fix it, it just wouldn't work.
Last week I did a fresh install, wiped data and flashed the latest rom. I also formatted my usb and went through the setup process again to store thumbnails on USB. It worked...sort of
New Issue:
Kodi can now be launched from the homescreen without crashing. HOWEVER, it reverts right back to a fresh install, blank kodi, no sources, thumbs, etc!
--If I force stop it then launch it again, everything goes back to normal (my setup is intact, thumbs are imported from USB.)
***There's ONE more piece of the puzzle that I'm hoping will give someone an idea...everytime I launch kodi, the AFTV seems to temporarily lose it's hdmi connection with the TV. I get the black screen with "no signal" listed in the center. It comes back once Kodi has booted up.
--This happens when it's launched from the main menu only. If I hit force stop then launch it, Kodi starts right up (correctly, setup intact). I notice it skips the splash screen and just goes right to my Homescreen.
Thought I'd take a shot and see if anyone knows what's going on. Would really appreciate any help. I tried to be as thorough as possible but if there's any questions, please help if you think you have an idea. Thanks
I have a 1st gen rooted Fire TV. Apps often take a WHILE to open. Does anyone else have this problem?
Bumping this. I did a factory reset. It didn't help. Running 5.2.6.0 rooted FireTV 1. Installing and running apps take a while. Most of the time you wait on a black screen with three animated dots in the lower right corner. Sometimes the whole FireTV freezes while it tries to open the app. All other functions are fast including running apps.
