I'm sure the answer is going to be stupidly obvious, but I cannot for the life of me get Tasker to disable the lockscreen (knock code) via a task.
The end goal is simply for me to enable the knock code when I am not connected to my HOME Wi-Fi, and disable it when I am connected to it at home. I've set it up similar to other phones I've used but I simply can't get it to function on the G4 (ever owned LG before so it could be a specific way to do it with them and knock codes).
Tasker is set as a phone administrator. Can anyone either show what profiles/scripts they have that DO work, or walk me through the process?
I've done it on the g3, but it requires root. Haven't looked at my g4, because I use the built in smart lock to do it with my Moto 360 now. Smart lock won't do by WiFi, but it will do by location. The on body detection for smart lock works pretty well also.
Yeah I am rooted on the Verizon version. Meaning to flash xposed haven't got around to it yet, but I know there are some modules that would do what I want. I'd just like to figure it out with Tasker if I can. Do you by chance have your G3 xml/layout still?
Here is the post I made. Haven't tested, but the values it's looking for are still present so I think it would work.

Also, that sqlite I recommend doesn't work. I copied the binary from titanium backup to get it just now to see the values
Ah that's too bad. That was something I had yet to try. Thanks for responding though.

Poop.
I can't find it...
But just to reassure you, I HAVE seen this hack implemented.
And it's a simple text edit.
I'll keep searching.

BAHA! Found it.

This could potentially be helpful as well...but I don't see mention of GNex support, so maybe go the manual route.

Wow! That is exactly what i was looking for and couldn't have been easier, thanks!
I just got my HOX. Just switched from my iPhone 4 since owning iPhones since day one. Loving the HOX so far.
I do have a question on how to check my sensor. I can not seem to get programs to change to landscape. Is there something I need to turn on. I checked stating and auto rotate screen is checked.
Any thoughts.
I just rooted the phone but no mods. So running stock.
Goto Dialer, and dial *#*#3424#*#*.
"HTC Function Test" should pop up. Select "Accept", and there is a menu of tests. Select G-Sensor test and run it.

If you cannot pass the test, you may calibrate your censors by going to Settings-Display&Gestures-G-Sensor Calibration.
Place the phone on a level surface and click "Calibrate".

Is there any app that disable mobile data when screen is off that work witn android 5.1?

I only know of an ancient app which will work once its setup correctly... TASKER
---------- Post added at 05:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 PM ----------
There may also be a xposssed module to get this job done but TASKER will certainly get get the job done.
The extreme power saver option on stock ROMs will do this too. Though it is a small hassle to get in & out of this mode it is good for battery and data saving.
Automateit works great and is easy to set up
Automateit doesn't seem to be able to do this. Might be because it's not rooted. Might be user error. :')
Has anyone come up with a good reliable way to swap between IME depending whether the S-pen is inserted or not without root? I want to use SwiftKey or Samsung while the S-pen is away and Google handwriting when it's out. I was really hoping Samsung might have added something to deal with this but apparently not, I don't want to root yet so the root solutions are off the table, otherwise this would be easy.
I have a way using note buddy and taskr I'll find it and post the steps here....

I think that method also requires root to work properly, but I may be wrong.
Found it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2662814&page=1
Shouldn't need root. I can't 100 percent remember but I'm pretty sure I did this on my note 4 and 5 and I didn't root either..
Oh actually I see secure setting ask for root. Sorry :/

Yeah I thought so, I hope there's a way around it.
Hey all, looking to get input for a working flash notification app. For when you get a text, call, app notification, etc... Perviously used a few on the Note 7 but can't seem to find one down that fully functions.
Thanks in advance!
Flashing notifications has always been a big deal to me. I've been let down in the past with some devices limitation on different lights and what not. I purchased an app a couple years ago that works great if your device can handle it. I've tested it on the pixel and it works excellent. It's called lightflow.. and here's the play store link.

You do need root, and in setting - notifications - click on the gear - turn on pulse notification light (which is off by default!?!?!?!). You also need to give it rights in the accessibility menu.
Should work fine for you as it's working GREAT for me.
Good luck!

here's a free version.. not sure how limited it is.. might be good for testing purposes (but I can already tell you this is working fine).

also, I read on this app it doesn't REQUIRE root which I thought was required when I first purchased the app. Things might have changed. I did root my pixel and this app is working fine. If it doesn't work, it might be root related if you don't have root.

Wow, great...just installed Light Flow. Was unaware of all the features associate with that app. I will be sure to give it a go here tonight and try and figure out all these settings! Thank you very much for the input!
Much appreciated!
