LG-H815 WiFi Issue - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have this issue with the Wifi on my 1 month old LG G4 right out of the box where the Wifi connection occasionally drops while connected to the 2.4GHz band. At first, I thought It might be due to interferences from my environment as I stay in an apartment but when I tried to use a public wifi, the connection was also unstable and dropped even though my other devices are connected properly without any problems. The 5GHz also does drop sometimes when the screen is off but it is not as bad as the 2.4GHz band. I also have another problem where the phone sometimes cannot find any 2.4GHz band wifi but a few 5GHz band wifis even though my other devices can see a ton of 2.4GHz band Wifi around me. I have also tried Miracast on my Smart TV and the same problem occurs where the sometimes the sound and image stutter and flicker even though the phone is in the same room but it doesn't happen to my other devices such as my Xiaomi Redmi 1S. I have attached a picture of a couple of my devices showing the wifi setting section.
Any advice on this issue before I send my phone to the LG Service Centre for warranty over the weekend.
Many thanks in advance

Sever speed drop on WiFi VS. other PC's on same networks

OK so I know that we are not talking about a full fledged PC but there is a pretty big speed difference in the downlink speeds between my home PC and my Evo on Wi-Fi:

Evo on same WiFi network:
Can't figure out why the big speed difference. Anywhere from almost a quarter to a tenth of the speed of my PC. Just wondering.
On a note, it might be worth mentioning I movied around the house and the phsycial position of hte phone relative to the router did not seem to make a difference. Being 5 feet away was not any faster than being on the opposit end of the house.
I have the exact same problem. My phone goes 3mbps slower than a pc on the same network (down from 6mbps).
my laptop gets about 26mpb but the gets like 20mpb.. i dont see this as being bad at all..
Looks like you have cable. Maybe the speedboost isn't working for the Evo. You know with speedboost your internet connection isn't necessarily that fast its just something time warner does to give you temp high speeds. That's definitely not your sustained download speed.

[Q] 3G Dongle

Hello experts,
I Searched for it, but no answers. I have a external 3G dongle that i use in some cases, when I travel to visit a client for example. But I literary don't use it at home, and my Data Plan the speed are to slow, up to 300 kbps, and after downloading 10MB per day, it slow down to 50 kbps, yes it is slow!
As i have a 3g dongle at home, I've bought this connector:

}
I Connect the 3G dongle but nothing happened =/. I removed my sim card and let just the 3G, but nothing happened, I pressed the button search network operators and the blue light of 3G dongle turned on for 1 sec, and showed me all the operators. But I'm not able to use it as a modem.
I know that tablets are able to do it, but them don't have a 3G inside, so the setting are able to handle just 1 connection when you connect a 3G dongle you have just to enable the data on settings, but in our case if we enable it will use the sim's card data, not the 3G dongle.
There is a way to do it? how?
I'm using the stock rom, rooted.
Thanks in Advance!

I never saw this before. .
Connected to my wifi at work, and I got a picture message from my daughter... then the 3g and wifi were on at the same time.

Anyone...??
Sent from my big A $$ Galaxy Note 2.
The pxt message comes through 3G that's why both your wifi and 3g are on at the same time.

3g is always running in the background when wifi is on but it will only notify you that its being used when you need that particular service. From what I understand voice calls are also placed through the 3g service but defaults to 2g when there strength of your 3g is not good enough.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Cheers,
Evil.
^ That's my understanding if it as well.
Not all carriers will make the phone show data activity indicator when receiving mms, but I think it's very common.

TMobile Note 3 WiFi 5Ghz not connect issue

All of sudden, today I got the issue that I couldn't connect to my 5Ghz WiFi SSID. I'm using Asus AC68U 802.11AC router, my Note 3 connected to 2.4G just fine but not 5G. It was good in the last few weeks.
Tried to google it for a bit but didn't find a solid answer. Tried to restart my phone, clean up cache, and reboot router, no luck.
Finally I thought that maybe there were other 5Ghz devices conflict? So that I changed channel on router from AUTO to 36. Then everything is working good now :S
What was the point to this thread? You answered your own question. Now if you wanted to inform people a possible fix the thread's name should be changed how to Fix 5GHz WiFi Connection issue. however I don't have this issue and never have but that's besides the point.
I have the same issue when trying to connnect to my 5gHz network ..2.4 works fine
You may need to tweak wireless your settings under. Advanced settings>Wireless>General> select 5 GHz from the drop down menu. Make sure your not using N + AC only under "wireless mode". For whatever reason I wasn't able to get it to work. Alternatively try updating your firmware. Unlike some other vendors Asus diligently releases firmware updates even for old products like the N56U which was released in 2011.

Question Unable to connect to 2.4 ghz networks

Hello All,
Any ideas on how Android (if it matters Pixel 6 Pro/Android 13) determines 'Can't provide internet" on WiFi?
Here's the boggle. I have a number of SmartPlugs. They all require 2.4ghz. I’ve since had to get a new router for my house, old one crapped out. Got a TPLINK AX5400.
Most everything reconnected when I renamed the networks the same (I have a 2.4 Ghz and a 5 Ghz network, let’s just call them 24 and 50.) I keep the SSID the same, WEP type / key the same, etc.
For some reason now, 2 of the smart plugs - power strips - won’t reconnect. To reconnect them, I need to use the app, connect the phone to the 2.4 ghz wifi and then it connects the power strip to the network. Problem is my phone (which is pretty new too) won’t connect to my WiFi - 2.4 ghz at least. “Connected to device, can’t provide internet”.
I disabled pinhole (set my router to use my ISP’s DNS) and. Disabled IPV6 - IPV6 was new to this router. But no idea why the phone won’t connect to 2.4 ghz. Any suggestions on what to check?
I can connect to my 5 ghz wifi - same router, same settings oterwise (different SSID's)
Thanks
