It is a bit suspicious that Elephone removed the download link to this ROM from Elephone BBS, replaced with Update soon notice.
I guess they fixed the camera, but probably broken something else, so hesitating to flash this one.

I have it flashed, the downside seems to be battery now my phone idle has consumed 26% so far total of 12hours

Hi, thanks for feedback. Well, it doesn't seem like a drawback for me. I myself have an average of 48 hours on full charge (using 25/07 stock ROM, tuned with L-Speed), so 26% in 12 hours seems quite reasonable. ) Of course, it heavily depends on your system config/apps.
Any other obvious bugs/crashes may be?

I have flashed it since a couple of days. Cant find any downsides at all...
For me (after clean flashing) my battery time got BETTER, specially noticed
that i got rid of some wakelocks i was wondering about...
Fingerprint seems more accurate, camera works with 3rd part apps..

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
I guess Ele guys did only fix the cam and some other fixes like description says, and left anything else at least untouched, did not bring any new bugs in the ROM ).
I think I'll wait until the end of the week may be for the update on Ele BBS (still wondering why they removed the download link), and then give it a try on my P8K.
0815 rom seems alright though I still have the non-working wifi issue at times where you have to off/on it to get it running again(though it shows as connected in the notif. bar
problems with the stock rom
I flashed my Elephone p8000 today with the P8000_20150815 rom and 3rd party camera apps are working now. I got a few problems with the drivers, but finally made it. But the problem is that when the phone is locked, i cant pull down the notification menu. Otherwise the notification menu works, but not on the lockscreen.
Edit: auto shutdown works,but after it restart automatically, phone is hanging. Manual restart and i can use my phone again.

Hi, I'm using the stock ROM and I noticed that, if I change the notifications sound, after a while (maybe a day maybe 2) the elephone "decides" to reset to the default notifications sound. Same problem with the incoming call sound.
Is there somebody else experiencing this problem?

I had an international HTC One X locked to the ThreeUK network (1.28). They were rubbish releasing updates namely 1.29.701.11
I get the screen flicker issue, and last night I rooted and installed Revolution HD 9.1.0 (sense 4.1) rom onto my phone.
The phone is soooo much snappier and faster, plus scores 700-800 more on antutu.
My question is, will this custom firmwire update I have done also fix the screen flicker issue and lost memory card data I was experiencing with 1.28 4.0.3??

I'm getting conflicting reports that the screen flicker won't be fixed as I need that specific update and a custom rom will not fix it as it's more to do with the binary and not with the rom side?
Any other ideas ?

Can you reference these conflicting reports?
I firmly believe that the cusotm ROM you have will include the fix (ask the author) but it is fair to say that a few people found the fix didn't work but the majority of handsets were fixed by 1.29.xxx.11.

Hmm, this is what I always wanted to know. Maybe you can shed light on this for me (getting ignored in custom kernel, or CM threads)
The custom kernels are made from the source right? I mean compiled?
Whats the latest one there is? Last time I was on custom kernel there was the official source only from the 0.7 version without the flicker fix.
Or is there already a new source? Or no source needed, they can just hack into the kernel without it?
Also the modded roms, they have their own kernels right? Also a new source with the flicker fix?
Also I didn't have flicker with .11 (got the phone shipped with it) and when I tested custom kernels = flickers, back to stock = no flicker.
On this OTA, it flickers, hoping it will settle, but I can already tell it was faster "fixed" for me on the .11
Maybe there was the data, which will it have to gather from new on as I am now after RUU etc.
I'm having the exact same issue on CM10. I know it's still an alpha build, so I'm willing to wait. But I've asked one of the developers directly, but he/she won't respond.
It is a big problem for some of us, yet it's being ignored. That alone doesn't sit right with me. Does that mean that it's not easy to fix or that it's not in the pipeline (yet)?

You know, I wouldn't mind the flickering as much I am now, if someone of them would at least say something to it. Like "not possible" or "working on it" but ignoring the questions just made me abandon CM for now and I am back to stock.

I totally agree! I'm playing with the same idea of going back to the stock ROM, but I truly don't like Sense. But I ike it more than the flickering though.

I hate sense too . Thats why I have most of it deactivated and use Nova launcher. There is even a sense cleaner here in the forum. But I just frozen the aps I don't like. Should help a bit with deactivating most of the sense stuffs.
I would go for CM, but there were few issues, I had with it besides the flickering.

Anyone experiencing face unlock lag? Not before the camera prepares itself, but when the camera recognizes the face? It takes me 3-5 seconds before it unlocks.
I don't want to ask on the ROM thread or Kernel thread, they might point me to each other.
I did a full wipe and reinstalled the following in order:
Paranoid Android 4.0 BETA 2
pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.2-20131215-signed
franco kernel r10
SuperSU 1.86
Booted up, setup the wifi, play store, then went to Security in Settings to setup the face unlock. That's all I did.
Tablet works fine before, using Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 and ElementalX 1.8, face unlock was fast.
Anything I need to do first? Or know?
EDIT: Ok, I noticed that it is also lagging considerably when the camera is still activating. I checked the camera app, and when I switched to the front facing cam, it takes 3-4 seconds to activate. I'm gonna ask in the ROM thread then.

Ok, I just did the exact same procedure but I used Purity ROM just to test, no camera lag. What gives? I want to use PA but it isn't making me feel I want to use this ROM every day.

beta 4 generally works fine but I have 2 issues:
-I constantly get a message that a number which I was calling is back accessible (normally I get only one, but that might be my provider's fault).
-I have an impression that battery drain is significantly higher than in beta 3, both with DSB disabled and enabled.
Am I the only one?
All in all, it might be just my imagination but I'm sure about is that this ROM is absolutely great.

I've never come across the first issue so it could well be provider related.
There are many varying factors when it comes to battery life. This might provide more information on what's causing it:

Android L is a maybe. There's no way of knowing if/how well it will run until the source is released. I don't see why not though, the Z and ZL aren't exactly ageing devices.
Litening Kernel Phone Dead
i had pa 4.6 beta 4 on my phone... i then flashed litening kernel on it... it worked for 2-3 hrs.... now all i can do is boot into recovery... even flashing other kernel or restoring does not help.... what can i do ??

Happened to me aswell, device kept rebooting but was able to rollback to 3.4.0-cm-gfaa1635 trough recovery, there must be something else in your phone.

may sound like a dumb question but I'm pondering on buying a Samung Galaxy S4 or S5 because I really like their performance and "snappiness" (apps open right away when you click them).
At the moment I own a Sony Xperia ZL and generally I'm relatively content with it but it lacks the "snappiness" of the smartphones mentioned above. It needs noticeable 1-3 secs to open apps after clicking them.
It just feels as if the performance of the ZL is not good enough, but based on the specs I would say it's a good device.
So is the performance of the ParanoidAndroid Rom for the ZL better?
I just want to know before flashing, because otherwise I will sell my phone und buy a Samsung one.
Can anyone (maybe even someone with a Samsung S4 or S5) share his/her experiences with me?
With the ParanoidAndroid Rom installed on my Xperia ZL will it have a performance (and stability) similar or near to the Samsung S4 or S5?

my device can use 3g in sometimes it can use 5-10secs then it off 5-10secs and on again , how to fix this tell me pls:'(

Can you do anything about battery drain when signal is poor? It is always higher, but on stock it was bearable and on PA it's sometimes like 20-30% per hour, even when I'm not doing anything.
Also (not fully PA related), refering to your post in Yuga thread I assume Lollipop AOSP build will be skipped and you will release only PA build (hopefully for ZL too!)?

There are no nightlies for PA, releases are usually weekly but they're not assured. Latest update for legacy devices was a few weeks ago, because whole team is working on Lollipop

Someone is having problems with battery life using Paranoid Android 4.6 beta5 on Xperia ZL ??
I did a fresh install of the latest version and am having problems with battery and temperature, the phone gets very hot even when I'm doing basic things like web browsing and using whatsapp.
I searched the PA topic for a similar case but not found anything, anyone have any idea what it might be?
when I talk of bad battery life, say something around 8 hours with 2 hours screen on with the auto brightness, 3G (lte off), GPS off, and regular use (email, whatsapp, web browsing, facebook)
Battery drain and mobile data issue
As I mentioned before I don't get any stable signal on mobile data.
From my experience this might connected to the battery drain issue. As I disabled mobile data and used WIFI instead (because let's be honest -- unstable mobile data is the worst thing ever), my battery drain was decreased by magnitudes.
Furthermore my ZL didn't get hot anymore.
We are talking about charging my smartphone twice a day before and charging it every two days after.

Guys, I am using m11 snapshot version and I sense that the battery is draining very fast and the tab is heating up too . For example , I played 30min of hay day and lost 35 % of my battery and it was very hot while I played . Playing on my xperia ultra z for 1 hour and 30 minutes, lost only 27 % of my battery and it does not heat up like the tab . Anyone have these problems , is this normal? Some kernel to recommend I use , I'm using the stock cm11 kernel .

Try the latest nightly. I have made big changes to the interactive governor that reduce the power utilization.

Thank crpalmer. I'll try that last buid, I was using the day 18/10, but it has the problem of freezing. so I roll back to m11.
Is there a way to get screencast to work? I've tried to use the cast screen within the display setting but it doesn't work...
I can get Chromecast to work but not screencast..

Hi,
I've encounterd some issues when copying files from my PC (Windows 7) to the SD card inserted in the tab, both cnnected by the USB data cable.
The copy sometimes stops with an error message : the device is no more connected. In fact, it is still, and the tab begins to be slow. The only way back is to disconnect and reboot the tab.
As I had formatted the SD with the stock ROM, I re-formated it with CM : the issue is still present.
NB : the usb cable data is almost new (from September 14) and the SD card never bugged before (with stock ROM I mean).

I have it as a system app. After I clear cache and wipe data and uninstall all updates and aplly you recommended version it crashes......But thank you anyway. It seems to me that youtube app can not be a system app, it can not be updated, you have to install it in clean way from the begining...

Hi, I am running 26/10 nightly and get a "can't connect to camera" error on Facebook. Also, no camera app is working. Just a message to let you know.

There have been a lot of camera changes lately. Can you ("you" being those reporting camera problems) remind me next weekend if it is still a problem? Nothing has changed in the device related to the camera and, given that I don't have a lot of time this week, I would like to make sure that those changes have stabilized before I try to see if we have a device specific problem that is somehow being triggered as a result of those change (aka, nothing has changed in our device so either the upstream changes are broken or they triggered a problem that was latent in our device support).

There was no way, as last night it still heats up a lot and the battery dies very fast , which does not happen in the damn stock rom.
I also get camera crashes on the October 26th and October 27th nightly. However, I was able to get an application called HD camera ultra to function with the back camera on the 27th build. So, at least third party camera apps can access the camera hardware as of 20141127. I also note accelerated battery consumption versus stock rom. I've dropped my maximum CPU speed to 1700 and forced minimum to 250. Hopefully I can squeeze a little more juice out of the battery. Overall, I still think this is a much better ROM than stock.

Hi, Chris,
I was at 400/1900. I never timed the runtime. It just seemed to need to go on the charger about twice as fast as stock. So, maybe 5 or 6 hours of occasional use in the day, versus 10-11 on stock. General e-mail, static webpage reading, Flipboard and Play News reading, etc. No video or YouTubing.
I did do a Hangouts videochat, yesterday. Front facing camera, audio and microphone worked fine. I tried to switch to rear and it crashed. So, that's cool. I use front camera more than back. I typically take photos with my phone, not the tablet.
What's the optimal scheduler? Interactive?
Thanks for your work on this ROM. Even though the SM-T520 has blazing hardware, I was a little envious of my GF with my old Galaxy Tab 10.1, since it ran CM11 just fine. Now I have the best of both worlds.

Hello crpalmer,
the error is still present. The current nightly of 28 does not change this. A complete Fullwipe and new reinstall did not help. Also, third-party apps can find no connection to the camera.

just updated to today's nightly dated today the 29th released few minutes ago, and camera won't open again, getting the error: won't connect to camera. i will try and apply a patch for camera fix and see how it goes.

@Anthony_007 Underclock you CPU using SetCPU and it should fix your problem.

I've been using CM11 since the first day I got this phone at July of this year. Only two issues that I've encountered, one is the battery usage, and second is the mobile service randomly dropping out. The battery usage has gotten a little better as of now, though not too much better. I'm not sure if it's the software bug on this Rom that's draining the battery, or the hardware spec itself that's doing it. Many people say the stock Rom doesn't drain the battery as fast as CM11, but other say that's b.s. Since I 've never used the stock Rom, so I don't know. The second issue with the mobile service randomly dropping out started back at beginning of October of this year. When I reboot my phone, the mobile service will not be able to connect, and the only way to fix it is to keep on rebooting until it reconnects. I looked around the forums then, and it seemed to be a problem for many people. Now the issue seemed to be fixed. I think now this Rom is nearly stable, which means CM12 is probably coming out soon.
WiFi Connection Issue in CM11 for LG Optimus G Pro E980
Hello devs,
I purchased a refurbished LG E980 a while back. I issue I am getting is that whenever I flash CM11 on this device, my WiFi disconnects after sometime. I would have to reset the WiFi Region settings to United States in order for WiFi to work again. Is there any way to permanently select on region. This doesn't happen on stock ROM. Please guide.

I just uploaded a stable update into rom Manager. Get the app to get the download. If there's a need for it, I'll upload and share a link. I just know not everyone likes lollipop but we all love battery life. Feel free to Pm me for any issues that may arise.

No, no navbar. For that you have to install either pac - man rom or bliss-stalk. If you decide to install CM11, the latest version for this device is cm11 justlovejoy. It's not a nightly, the dev has it stable and good battery life. You will find it if you have the rom manager. Else look at another cm11 thread on the xda.

Now you can go with the stable battery friendly verison of CM lovejoy, If you have problems with your physical nav buttons I would personally install the app LMT you can find it by searching xda, Its a really good alternative, like slimpie with more customization. Also doesn't lag down the system at all. 16mb footprint in ram which is nothing for this phone.
