Hi all,
I've finally bought an Android phone after years of iOS use, but unfortunately it's a Chinese version and I can't get Google apps to work. I rooted the phone, and tried copying the apk files that I downloaded from apkmirror to the system/app folder using Root Explorer, but unfortunately that didn't work. I also used Google installer which seems to be used regularly in the Xiaomi community, but that didn't work either. Whatever I do, I keep on getting an error message saying "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" over and over again. When I try to log in to the play store I get an error saying that the phone can't connect to the Google server.
I have absolutely no idea what else to try. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Not sure if it's relevant, but I am using Android version 4.4.4 and build number 14.4.A.0.108
Have you tried to flash GApps via recovery?

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie here looking for help.
I have a GS4, I9505 running Jellybean 4.2.2.
Baseband version is I9505XXUDMH5
Build Number is JDQ39.I9505XXUDMH5
SELINUX says enforcing and secure boot says Samsung.
I have two problems with the phone.
1. When I try to download apps from the play store on the phone it won't do anything. I press the "install" link and it does nothing at all. However when I try to install apps from the play store using my google account on my laptop, it works fine.
2. When I try to open my phone banking app or my dropbox app to sign in, it does not show the keyboard for me to enter details.
Has anyone encountered these issues before and is there a way to fix them?
Any help any of you can provide will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
RS.
Hi, I just got myself an HTC One M8 today. Bought it here in Beijing, China, at a China Unicom store. Turns out they call it M8w, but it should, as far as I know, be very similar to the official Asian version (it has a 2.5 GHz CPU and both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE). Google Play Store was not installed, so I'm trying to get it installed.
I tried installing Google Play Store using the "Google installer" app by Eric Xiang, mostly used for Xiaomi phones, but basically it's an app to download APK files manually and install them.
So far I've gotten Gmail and Google Translate to work without problems after installing it from the Google installer, but Google Play Store fails to start with a message saying "No connection" and a "Retry" button. This is probably because Google Services Framework (a dependency of Play Store) crashes after installation.
Any suggestions on what I should do? Do I need to root and put in a non-Chinese ROM?
Thanks in advance!
For the M8t, there is a easier way for Google Play service (gmail, map... etc),
Just search "GMS安装器" from HTC App store or Baidu App store. Then you are good to go.
For anybody that's interested, I didn't manage to get all Google apps running properly, so several months ago I flashed in this system dump instead. (I unlocked the bootloader and flashed it in using a utility I don't remember the name of, but I will look it up and update this post if I remember it.)
Haven't noticed any issues so far except for that I don't seem to be able to update anything OTA. But I guess that might be normal?

Hi, i have a Chinese Galaxy Note 8.0 (Android version: 4.1.2), and because of that, I have problems obtaining apps. I am using aptoide, but not being a savvy user, it's a bandaid at best (much better than the samsung store, anyway).
So i decided to install it. Coming from here:
http://www.androidpit.com/forum/589877/how-to-install-google-play-store-if-it-is-not-pre-installed
I arrived at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2547054
The rooting part went very easy, and now my tablet is rooted. But when it comes to installing the Google Play, i just can't. I did it in both manners: first copying all the apks to the system/app folder and restart, but after that following the order provided in the kindle thread.
I experience some problems i've read also in other kindle threads: several apps stop working (for some reason, Viber, which i downloaded from aptoide), Google Services Framework stops working too, and as soon as i run the google play store, i get the "no net" error. I've done it also previously uninstalling all the google-related apps like maps and chrome. Still nothing.
Anyone can shed some light into what's happening? Thanks.
Hello,
I've recently upgraded my Sony Xperia Acro S to android 5.0. Everything was fine, until i tried to install google play store. I downloaded .apk file from apkmirror, installed it, everything seemed fine, but when I try to open it, the app just shows a white window and immediately shuts down. It doesn't even load or anything. I tried to download different versions of google play store - new and old ones, and tried to import the apk file from computer but result is the same for every version. Any tips/ suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Google apps don't work that way. You need to flash them via recovery, and they are separate for separate Android versions. If You are on Android 5.0, You need to flash these gapps via TWRP, and if on 5.1, then these gapps. Although You need to uninstall play store completely first.
Hello, I have a nexus 7 2013 with the good ol ghost touch screen issues. Various hardware fixes did not help. Anyway, I read some had this problem after 5.01 update. So, I used nexus root tool to downgrade to 4.4.3 version. I keep getting errors Google play has stopped. I have cleared cache and data in Google play store, service's and framework. Didn't not help. Removing account and reinstalling doesn't help. Some say to uninstall google play store and google play services but i see no option for that in settings. Tried NRT kit to install google play store apk. Installed es file manager. When i try and run the APK, i get read errors from es file manager or app not installed error. If i try and download APK directly, i get errors No SD Card. I tried to do an adb sideload and it fails. Does anyone have an idea on how i can get around this and manually install google play apk or just fix the google play has stopped error? I would love to be able to load my apps via google play. Ive been banging my head for days searching for help and tried dozens of so called fixes. Please help if you can. Thank you!
