Trying to follow the steps to boot into TWRP using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/development/lwx49k-rooting-easy-t3107501
I am able to boot into fastboot and my screen shows "Running Fastboot" but when I issue the command fastboot boot "<filename>" I just get < waiting for device > on my PC.
Any idea what is getting stuck? I factory reset the watch hoping that would solve the issue but no luck. ADB works fine.
You need to load the drivers for fastboot. What os do you have?

These files are from Motorola's Development site and I take no liability with anything that happens with your device if something goes wrong.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH THIS FILE ON ANYTHING BUT THE VERIZON WIRELESS MOTOROLA XOOM Z600 (3G MODEL) OR YOU WILL HAVE A SHINEY PAPER WEIGHT!!!!

You're going to need to have the Android SDK installed. You can download it here:
ANDROID SDK - DOWNLOAD
XOOM Firmware Downloads:
[3G|MZ600-HRI66]
[4G|MZ602-HLK75D]
Unzip the files in MZ600_HRI66.zip and move or copy them to the /platform-tools folder in your SDK folder.
Connect your Xoom to your computer. Type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Wait for it to reboot into the bootloader.
Type the following commands, waiting for each to finish before continuing:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
You've now successfully flashed your Xoom back to stock. Now it's time to relock the device. Type
Code:
fastboot oem lock
wait for the menu
then press the volume-down button.
Then press the volume up button.
It'll take a minute or so, then reboot. You're now completely back to stock and ready for the update.
So if you are on Three . One you can use this to revert back to out of the box freshness?

So the HRI66 is the latest version on the Motorola site? I really need to get a grasp of their version numbers.
EDIT:
Never mind looks like HRI66 is the latest version Thanks anyway.
i was thinking that with the change to the bootloader in the 3.1 update we couldn't use previous versions img's. But I am glad we can return to stock and get this 4G update!
I'm following all those steps directly. Once I type in adb reboot bootloader, it says starting Fastboot protocol support. Once I try to type any other command it says not recognized in adb. Any ideas?

Did you extract all of the files in the ZIP into the 'tools' folder? The same one that adb is in.
Could someone help me,
After the rebooting device I got this massage :
Failed to boot LNX 0x0004
Starting RSD mode 2
Then stuck on Motorola logo. I can't enter the recovery mode.
What should I do ?
My Xoom is H.6.1-38-9 International version

This is what I was afraid of..... try searching the error you are getting. Not many options on how to fix.
i am curious about the LNX 0x0004 error. I know it comes from trying to relock with non-factory img's but what exactly does that mean? I am curious what actually causes the device to soft brick.
Finally I made it, .
I can enter to bootloader by fastboot method, flash the stock image, then relock my device.
Kinda having the same issue as dchurch... "adb reboot bootloader" reboots Xoom to the "M" logo with "Starting Fastboot protocol support," but I can't continue with nay further commands. My computer no longer recognizes the presence of my Xoom and my Xoom doesn't progress past this screen. I can boot it normally with no problem. I've extracted all of the necessary files into my platform tools folder with adb.. any input?

You can try manually going into fastboot as well... there are two ways to do this:
No matter what, power off the Xoom. Then, 1) Power on the Xoom and as soon as you see it turn on (within a second or two of the power on), press the Volume Down button, which kicks it into Fastboot. 2) If you miss the 1st couple of seconds and press Volume Down after 3-5 seconds, it will say "Android Recovery." You can then press Volume Down until you get to Fastboot, then press Volume Up.
My guess is that you have a different issue, something to do with your Fastboot image. Not sure if booting the Xoom into the OS and connecting with USB Debugging on will work or not to flash the files, perhaps maybe just the boot.img?
I also believe that when the Xoom says "Starting Fastboot protocol support", it is in fastboot mode and you can send the fastboot commands to the Xoom. If your PC does not show the Xoom as a device in your PC's Device manager, then you will probably need to load new/correct drivers onto your PC.
Did you make sure that adb recognized your device? Adb devices in the camaned prompt

I've been trying to root my Kindle Fire running 6.3.3. I bought a fastboot cable and got it to boot into fastboot mode to flash TWRP and firefirefire. I ran the commands and TWRP failed but firefirefire installed. Now when the kindle boots I get the firefirefire bootloader but it cant boot into the recovery because the TWRP never installed. Also, I can't get it to fastboot anymore, not even with the cable. Can anyone please help me get TWRP installed? I've read many forums and tried about everything I found.

FFF bootloader supports fastboot commands, but the flash command is now
fastboot flash recovery file name
ie drop the -i 0x1949
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-otter.img
because the fastboot mode window is short
with kindle connected to pc, power off kindle, enter commands, then power on kindle

I've been trying this for about 30 minutes or so with no luck...I even downloaded a different version of the twrp image. Do I have to wait for the fastboot screen to start the command or do I start the process before powering on the device? I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong here.

Should be able to do it either way but I press enter, before the power button
This will not work if drivers are not correct
could try
Code:
fastboot devices
as a test should get something like
Code:
123456789 bootloader
back in command prompt
I finally got it to work and I can't thank you enough. You were right. I knew my computer recognized the device with adb in normal boot but my computer wouldn't recognize the device in fastboot mode until i reinstalled the android driver while it was in fastboot mode. Now I have a custom ROM running Google Play apps! Again, thank you!
Hey, I don't know if this will help others, but I had a hell of a time trying to get my kindle to recognize while in the bootloader/fastboot mode... It frustrated me so much that I had to write about it.
I recently switched to Windows 10, so it seems like my computer is relearning drivers and stuff...
My kindle was fine when on, and I could issue adb commands from the main screen, but when in fastboot mode, I couldn't get it detected. I knew the drivers were an issue, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I looked at Amazon's support pages, went through the SDK route, tinkered with the adb.ini and so forth... to no avail.
Post after post said that the easiest way to install the drivers was through the Kindle Fire Utility, but for some reason, the drivers in the .bat file kept failing and would not load. It took a good few hours to figure out the solution.
When I asked the Web why the drivers kept failing, I came across a post that said Windows was actually blocking unknown drivers from loading onto my system. I really wish Windows had told me that instead of just saying "Fail"...
I had to hold down the shift button and click restart on the start menu, and when the computer restarted, I when through: troubleshoot -> advanced options -> startup settings and clicked on Restart. It eventually gave me the option to disable that signature verification [F7]
My explanation is crude, because I want you to look it up properly. Just search for "disable driver signature enforcement" and you should be fine.
Hope this helps others out. I may have to revisit my own post just to see how to do this again.
Ok, my nexus 7 this morning had just randomly started to not respond to any touch. I restarted the device by turning it off and on again with the power button, and it stuck at Google logo. I can go into bootloader, but not recovery. If I try to go in to recovery, it gets stuck at Google logo again.
The device is stock, didn't even unlock it. Fastboot devices returns the serial number, fastboot oem unlock pops up the screen if I want to proceed, at which point I click no because I don't want to wipe the drive yet. I've tried Nexus Root Toolkit to boot into temporary custom recovery to make a back up, but doesn't work. NRT live log is as follows
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Information: Rebooting your device into bootloader mode...
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Information: Rebooting your device into bootloader mode...
adb reboot bootloader
Information: Checking Fastboot Status
fastboot devices
Information: Retrying.. Checking Fastboot Status
fastboot devices

Fastboot Status: Device Connected
Information: Booting modified boot.img to enable running privileged commands...
fastboot boot "D:\Android Development\Nexus Root Toolkit 1.7.2\data\Modified_Boot\modified_boot_razor_5.0.1_Information: Waiting for your device...
adb wait-for-device
LRX22C.img"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and then times out.
Since i couldn't connect it with my computer with USB debugging on, the drivers might not have installed correctly, although I did try installing the drivers with NRT. Currently my laptop doesn't recognize the device. It does make sound when I connect the device, but it doesn't show up in device manager at all.
Any pointers please?
Hey. I was using a 5.0.1 GPE Rom on my M8 and decided to update both the firmware and the rom to 5.1
I Backed everything up and decided to, as usual, use adb to sideload the firmware to the phone. I did and everything went as expected. After I finished I rebooted to android. I get NFC service stopped working, System UI stopped working and I can't interact with the phone. My thought, well let's go to the recovery and flash a rom I have in my external SD card. No recovery to be found just a android guy belly up with a red ! sign on his belly.
So I thought, I lost my recovery due to the firmware flash, I had happened before, So i went online found a TWRP recovery and went to flash it. Reboot to fastboot USB mode, but then in adb I cannot see the device at all. "adb devices" shows and empty list. I tried my windows 7 laptop to the same result.
Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE help me, I'm kinda freaking out at this point and am running out of options

Sometimes some outside thought can be just ridiculasly helpfull when you are stuck in a tiny issue.
Thank you so much Kind sir, my heart rate thanks you aswell.
What a silly mistake
I tried to upgrade to the newest Android Wear 2.0, however an android logo with an open chest appears on my reboot which i suspect that my watch has been bricked.
I tried flashing back the stock image but it didn't help. Now it's stuck in a bootloop(displaying huawei logo -> android logo -> restart).
Any help regarding this matter is well appreciated.
Currently unable to detect adb on fastboot(able to enter fastboot), only can detect adb on sideload

Not sure if this is your problem, but adb doesn't work in fastboot mode, only fastboot commands do. While in bootloader mode, try "fastboot devices". If that returns okay, flash-all or the fastboot flash commands should work. If not, either your adb/fastboot need to be updated or Windows is detecting your watch as something other than a fastboot device. Someone else suggested this that worked for me when fastboot doesn't work:
- Go to Windows device manager
- find the Android device
- right click and selected update driver
- do the procedure to install the drivers manually
- when the list of drivers appear, select the one that says fastboot
- and done!
