Hello,

Shall we start bets to see who get the closest to the time we actually get the update?
I'm going to say we are the last ones to get the update like usual and I'm going to say that we get it around November.
I got an update to Wear 1.3.0.2171751 about an hour ago, but none of the watch faces, including Bits I grabbed from the link above, are interactive at all.
Well OP is misleading, as all mentions of the update I have read, do not specify any models besides the LG now gets wifi. The link posted in OP says nothing about 360 getting it. So yes google is releasing a android wear update in weeks, but to say for sure the 360 is getting it is a bit premature. I would hope we do but the thread says we are when the link provided says nothing.

Yah same here. Not sure what the problem is. Also I don't understand why they are making this sound like a new thing. Some of the old watch-faces are already interactive.

I'm not misleading anyone, if anything you can't read simple announcements properly.
Here is some more information:

As you can see, they say about the new features, and "Also, LG has now enabled Wi-Fi on the LG G Watch R".
On my Samsung phone I have the latest AW app version 1.3, but the AW version is still 1.1 on my Moto 360. How do I get the Moto 360 to update to 1.3?

Your title "New Android Wear update coming soon to Moto 360" You have no idea it is coming soon or coming at all for the 360. Both links you provide are a android wear update only and speak nothing about the 360 getting said update. I am only stating the facts per what you provided us.

So what is it then? title says there is a new update for the 360 coming soon, but he references nothing that says that. If I take it for what it is, then it would be a pile of nothing,
Enjoy what read? there is nothing to read about that signifies the moto360 will get this update, let alone soon as the OP was so nice to tell us is happening. Does he work for moto? is this an inside scoop?
-or-
Is this someone that wanted to start a thread about something that might happen, but instead worded it as it is happening with no info to back it up?
I am not trying to be an a$$, I am just a bit miffed when I see threads that claim something that provide no source, for whatever reason. (excitement, wanting to be first one, etc...) People need to realize all this stuff is searchable and threads like this at this time are misleading.
I have already spent way too much time on this, for what the thread is worth, getting off soapbox.

Btw, stating the obvious but I'm not the original poster of this thread.
Has there EVER been an update that the Moto 360 DIDN'T get?? You might as well say "the news said the sun will rise in the morning, but they didn't say AT MY HOUSE so I don't believe it".

Give the OP a break, it's Google and the new watchface makers fault for the miscommunication...
Google touted a new fancy feature to be enabled without first ensuring devices supported it ahead of time.
Devs of the new watchface have code that should allow them to check if the watch allows for interactive faces, but they aren't using it, which is adding to the confusion.
Poor communication.

well, if google says "all android wear watches" and the moto 360 is an android wear watch, then yes, moto 360 would get it in the "coming weeks"...
I believe its more misleading all around. In articles I have read, it talks about flashing OTAs, which we all know 360s are not capable of unless you have the special cable.
This leads me to believe that the update we are all waiting for will come in the form of a firmware update, and not a regular plain jane Android wear update from the playstore. Comments also mention people checking their watches for updates, THEN getting this, but I could be wrong
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/08/22/android-wear-lca43-ota-roundup/
Hey all there was an update to android wear on the phone but not the watch. The watch version requires update from moto. If you look you will see that your current version on your watch for wear is 1.1.1.
Moto has not released the update yet to upgrade the version.
tnerb is correct. The Moto 360 is still running 1.1.1 of android wear. Android wear 1.3 (LCA43) is the latest version that we would like to see Moto release and this would come in the form of a OTA download (will happen automagiclly). I did some searches but can not find any info on when it might be released by Motorola. So only Motorola knows this answer.
More info available here:
http://www.androidheadlines.com/2015/08/android-wear-1-3-lca43-ota-links-are-available.html
or by doing a google search of Android wear 1.3 (LCA43)
This is my first Moto product since the days of flip phones - is Motorola usually this slow with updates? It's pretty damn funny to see everyone else out with their updates while we're still waiting
What's the version and build number of the update? My watch was acting weird today (not responding to touch unless I pressed VERY hard, and parts of the screen ignored touch completely) so I forced a power off then rebooted, and on boot the little flying dots turned into the word "Android" in a way very reminiscent of the new 6.0 boot animation.
My build is LDZ220, Android 5.1.1, Wear 1.1.1.2006643 and Play services 7.8.9(2134222-534)

I want my damn wifi.
Asus Zenwatch roll out is started
I manually downloaded Android Wear 1.1.1.1901499 but no update of my SW3 so far.
Asus Zen Watch getting it http://www.droid-life.com/2015/05/1...ing-out-to-asus-zenwatch-according-to-owners/
Keep checking the sony compain app (windows). Plus sony is kinda known for taking dor ever to push updates.
An hour ago I even tried resetting the watch to force the update. The OTA for the Sony SW3 is not out yet
Someone on android central under the ZenWatch update post, mentioned they received it on their Sony Smartwatch 3. So who knows. Just tried and nothing for me yet.
OK saw that you post a comment at the end.

I'm not sure if the download also is usable on our SW3 so I can#t belive that the download is used to flash our SW3.
Maybe he got an normal OTA update

After a moderate amount of searching, I can't find any occurrences of someone claiming they got an update that way before it showed up OTA. Have you?
Just tried it anyway, with expected results. No joy.

Come on update! I am ready!!
Just got another android wear app update, tried a watch reset but no luck.
Feels like they were bragging about Wear 5.1 pretty early just for the competition from Apple
https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!category-topic/android-wear/Dm-_S6xxtS4
Argggghhhh. Where is it? Please post if anyone gets it on SW3
The watches getting updates first are the non-wifi ones. Urbane is the only wifi capable AW device with 5.1, but there was a critical bug that prevented it from accessing wifi channels above 11. So be thankful that the Urbane users are beta testing 5.1 for us and it'll be less buggy when the rollout for SW3 happens eventually.
USA doesn't use 2.4ghz ch12 so I see how they missed that. But for those in Europe that would be important.
Google is now rolling out the update!

But not to the SW3, yet.
my moto 360 still can't get ota update

No arguing here.
Just speculation.
IIRC the G Watch R and the Urbane use the same "guts" inside, hence the speculation on why WiFi support was not enabled.
EDIT: Looks like the G Watch R will get WiFi enabled in Q3.
http://www.droid-life.com/2015/05/22/lg-g-watch-r-to-receive-wifi-support-via-update-in-q3/
There have been some confusion over the capabilities of LG wearable devices with the arrival of the latest version of Android Wear, currently rolling out this week. Regardless of what has been reported, the latest version of Android Wear does not automatically provide Wi-Fi support unless the device was designed with this functionality in place at the time of sale.
LG Watch Urbane is the only wearable device currently shipping with the latest version of Android Wear OS and is Wi-Fi capable out of the box. The original LG G Watch was not designed with Wi-Fi in mind and will not have this capability even after the Android Wear update. LG G Watch R will require a maintenance release patch after the Android Wear update to access Wi-Fi networks. LG engineers are preparing the patch now for availability in the third quarter.
We thank LG fans for their patience and loyalty. LG is confident in guaranteeing that their wearable experience will be second to none.

Lol well, according to the link, It's the only one left so, you're correct. Which sucks.
It sounds like Android Wear should be updated "soon" and we "should" have the speaker support all of us Huawei Watch owners have been longing for.
The next version of Android Wear is being tested on the Huawei Watch from the sounds of it. I would bet (hope) the Huawei Watch sees the update first! Here is a link to the article by Android Police:

Yea this is not fake.
The LG Urbane 2 LTE came with this version and had the speaker enabled. The Urbane was supposed to release with it but was recalled due to some "hardware" issues.
I specifically bought the Huawei watch for this specific reason. Watch calls from inside my pool this summer, yes!
I WISH they would include an option for a keyboard. Yes it is not ideal or reasonable for normal use, but there are some times when it would be awesome. Options are always good, even if they are disabled by default. Even a T9 style old school input would be awesome.

Mail for Android Wear
And
Messages for Android Wear
They are both replacement apps and are by the same Dev and have tiny keyboards that can be gotten used to!
They also have a web browser that works... well... It works...
I hope this is real. I'd love to have audio notifications on my H Watch.
Just waiting for someone to leak the firmware and confirm its true.
The guy who recieved the update didn't make a system dump before installing the update. This can only be done BEFORE installing. So there is no hope, we will get the update from him. Unless there is another user that copies the update.zip before installing.
On the other hand he won't be the only one to recieve this test build.

This device has an unlocked bootloader and a redily available copy of twrp.
ANY ONE who got that update could distribute it with in just a few minutes...
1. Receive update.
2. Let it apply
3. Unlock bootloader
4. Flash TWRP
5. Back up entire system
6. Post to internet.
But to what you are saying... Yes, it is correct that you can only get the update.zip before install. However see my point about getting the entire deal.
Then anyone could restore his TWRP back up and have whatever it is he has...
Perhaps newer builds of the firmware will be more widely tested soon, and more likely to leak out.....
The thing that's bothering me is that perhaps we might not get this firmware at all, and that it might be for testing features in a new 2016 watch from Huawei.
figures crossed we WILL get a download of this soon
Good news guys Looks like Google is giving us treats for the holiday season.

I'm guessing that every watch that is supported by AW2.0 will also be getting Oreo update. Yes, original Huawei watch is already beyond the 2 year support period but i don't think that the same rules goes for watches like it's usually the case with phones. Do you think original HW will be getting Oreo? I mean, we got new security update some days ago so it's still supported
I hope so,waiting for the update in a month.
In comments on articles about this, people have been reporting even the original Moto 360 is already getting this. I'm not sure the relationship between android version and android wear code but maybe it's pretty easy to merge the Oreo updates with the manufacturer's code now that they are on AW 2.0.

The fact that we got a security update doesn't mean much. There were some pretty high profile vulnerabilities that needed patching (KRACK, etc.).

That sucks :/ I kinda knew this would happen eventhough i was optimistic and hopeful that Huawei Watch still gets it. So, it's finally the end of software support for our beloved original HW **** you, you ugly ass HW2!
Can someone explain this End Of Life situation though...? The Huawei Watch is STILL on sale via Huawei's direct website! Surely they shouldn't be selling a watch without providing the software support seriously!? I thought the deal was 2 years after the device goes on sale or 18 months after it stops being on sale (whichever is longer).
I think this statement needs to be reiterated to Huawei and Google.
Also I bought the watch thinking the support life would be alot longer than a phone... People don't buy +£200 watches for only 2 years usage.
This "policy" may have just made me decide that I'm not interested in Android Wear anymore... Even my Pixel 2 will have a longer shelf life!
EOL is not here yet, just no Oreo. This is near the bottom of the article.
Some of the watches dropped from support include the ASUS ZenWatch 2 and 3, the original Fossil Q Founder, the LG G Watch R/Urbane/Urbane LTE, the second-gen Moto 360 and 360 Sport, and the original Huawei Watch. Those watches will continue to get Android Wear updates (like the recent v2.6 update) through the Play Store, but the underlying Android version will be stuck on Nougat.

The only one for the HW1 is discontinued. The dev's watch died and Huawei gave him a watch 2. If another dev steps up, yes, but since there was only one and that dev does not plan to continue.
The thing is I only love the look of HV1 watch. Most stylish. There is no other V2 watch out there that comes close.
I have a Huawei Mate 10 running Oreo so it's a shame my watch won't match my phone.

Well actually, just staying on wear 2 isn't a bad option, it still works wonderfully.
I agree. The more that Huawei Watch (1) is still officially on sale and is more expensive in stores than Huawei Watch 2.
I've made a post on their Swedish FB-site, here in Sweden it is still actively sold by two of Huawei's recommended resellers advertised at Huawei's site.
Can we figure out if the 18 months after sale claim is valid for Wear as well as regular Android? And was this formulated before or after the launch of the Watch?
I spoke to Huawei Technical Service. They do not have anywhere indicated that they provide support for 18 months from purchase / production. They claim that it depends on Google - not from them. They do not guarantee anything
It's a pity, because I have their P9 Plus smartphone and Watch 1 smartwatch and I think it makes the highest-class flagship.

This is amazing. For an old ass watch. Thanks Google
Wow great to hear that such an old watch still getting an update.
Anyway, still can't find any new smart watches that I think it's worthy to replace my Huawei Watch 1.
I saw a few videos talking about this update.. excited to see it! and glad its coming to our watch! i was just reading on how a lot of people downgrade from AW2.0 to AW1.5 because of how poor AW2.0 is.. I wonder if this new one will be better than both.
Hold your horses. So far, the only evidence we have that we're getting this update is an uncited and unknown Google rep saying that "all watches with 2.0" will get it. No official Google announcement has confirmed this that I can find. Also, that "list of phones that definitely won't get it" is from a Google post released in 2017 that simply states which phones will not get Android Wear 2.0. Call me a pessimist, but I'm far from convinced that we're getting this.
And if we do get it, I doubt it will be in the form of a firmware update, as some have reported. I suspect it will be just an update to the Wear OS app.

Just got an update; frustrated to see it is "android wear 2.16."
Apparently the wear os update is limited to oreo devices, but ours is nougat.

My guess is that this update is not a firmware update but mearly a wear os launcher redesign/update (supposition made based on the available screenshots) and maybe also of some apps such as google fit. This is why all devices get it (on wear 2.0) as it does not depend directly on wear os base version (Nougat / Oreo).
Edit: although from the gsmarena article the update is called Wear OS 2.1, so who knows. We play the waiting game...
I wish we would have a clear answer, I got a bit excited thinking I would have it and tried forcing an update in various ways.
i'm excited for the new Wear OS (3.0?) .. i'm still on 2.16.. Someone let us know when it arrives!

It's rolling out now. There's a complicated but confirmed working (I did it) method to trigger it that has been described in other threads on this forum. People have also reported triggering it by uninstalling and reinstalling the wear os app from the watch. Either way, you'll probably see it any day now.
As I suspected, it's a wear os app update (must be version 2.16 or later), not a firmware update.

Yeah, I am following the Reddit subforum of wearos. No official update has been done to hw1 yet, only the ones who forced the update got the new interface.
Thanks for the reply anyway.
