It Arrived Early - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Got mine delivered today (8/19). After having all 4 Notes this is my first non Note phone in 4 years. Always bought the Note series for screen size and powerful hardware, and not the S-pen which I never used except to try it out and screw around, so yea, it's not important to me.
If you want to use Samsung pay, don't root. I read an article from chainfire if you root you can't use Samsung pay. Even if you unroot you still can't use it because knox is triggered to 1

Well for me this phone looks like a note . If we are talking about the size. Btw ....amazing and powerful device. I got mine yesterday. Cant wait for root. I dont use or plan to use samsung pay. I would like to debloat this baby!!

There's a site that has root working but for other devices though I sure wish someone could use that info there and share it here.

Is anyone using their Note 2 in lieu of a tablet?

I need to upgrade both my old Android tablet and phone and am seriously considering getting the note 2 rather than 2 separate devices. I'm wondering if anyone who has the Note 2 finds they're using it exclusively rather than in conjunction with a tablet. I was an early Android tablet adopter, getting my tablet before buying an Android smartphone. At first, I'd take my tablet with me and use it at WIFI hotspots. I now find that I just use my tablet at home. The idea of a phablet is intriguing, but I wonder if any of you with a Note 2 find that you still need your tablets. TIA.
I probably would, but I do still use my Nexus 7, and use my phone as a hot spot.

Don't get me wrong. . Although not a tablet my laptop. ..But so many times my laptop is beside me and I still use my phone. I loved my note but the note 2 is on a league of its own atm. My 2 cents

I tested the waters with a TouchPad last year. Now its for the kids, and I use only my Note. I was already headed that way, but the Note finished that transition. Outside of work I have only used a computer once in the last month: to root my Note II.

Im using my note 2 for nearly everything now. I have the p1000 and an acer a501 and don't use either much. Except for maybe the odd movie on my acer a501 and ebay.
I love this phablet and very happy with it.
Hope that answers your questions.

One device, can't go wrong.
When Samsung says it's the best of both worlds they weren't lying. I can't wait to get mine for Christmas. I had to be pulled out of the AT&T store because I wanted to play with the phone all day. Definitely can be used as a tablet replacement, but only if you already have a computer.
Sold my SG3 to move on to the Note 2, I love my Note, but still find my self using my Galaxy Tab 10.1 , just not as much. I use the Note when
Im out and about and use the tablet at home. But if I did not already have the tablet I would have no issues just using my Note
I've pretty much stopped using my iPad 3 completely since getting the Note 2. Really is the best of both worlds.
Obviously the Note 2 wouldn't be able to completely push away my Transformer Prime with it's keyboard, ports and additional screen size, but any thoughts of wanting a Nexus 7 disappeared once I had the Note 2 in my hands.
Original iPad only gets used by my wife and kids now, I almost never use it, honestly could live without it now.

The Note II is an AWESOME device and in many ways is faster and smoother than my Asus TF300 (w/ dock). Even so I still prefer to do certain things on my Tablet with it larger screen.
Now if I didn't have a tablet I could get by with my Note II (though I'm looking forward to seeing what the Next Note 10.1 has to offer).
Actually, after falling in love with the screen real estate of the Note 2, I purchased a Nexus 10 and now tether from my Note 2 to my nexus 10
Yes don't use tablets anymore.

I purchased the Note 2 for this exact reason. I wanted a tablet and a new phone and I decided just go with the Note 2. I just ordered it today and it on back order. I will let you know how it works out once it comes in.
Have a ipad1 and ipad3 and a iphone 4s. Dont really touch them at all anymore. I got the note2 because my ipad one is pretty much obsolete and I travel 2 weeks a month for work so its a perfect fit for me.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note Perks - Boingo wireless hotspot - what is this?

As part of the perks for buying the Note, Samsung also give me "12 months of Boingo wireless hotspot".
I did not register but went to Boingo website. I noticed that most of the "trusted" and "certified" hotspot are typical Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. hotspot. Other than airports' hotspot (which I don't use much), what are the benefit for using Boingo?
I have no idea. I actually uninstalled it becauseof the pop up notifications every time I logged into my home Internet.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 4
You can disable the pop-up in the app. I haven't had a chance to try it at an airport yet to see if it gives me free access.

I think it's tied to your account instead of device specific, similar to Dropbox 50gb promo.

Finally!

Ok we finally get out own forum section. First let me start by saying that this device is amazing for the price. It is fast has good hardware and the speakers are amazing.
OK to get this started what does everyone think of this Lenovo tablet and what can Lenovo make better with the same price point?

I don't remember if it came rooted out of the box, but I think no, cause I remember using framaroot to root it.
Yeah mine wasn't rooted debating whether to do as I had experience with Chinese firmwares before, still got a momo8 bird that boot loops if you try and change io from noop to anything, funny thing is it was originally cfq but when I used supercharger the first time it reccomended noop now when I flash from PC still noop,

This Is A Great Tablet Experience
Just have to say, I have had this tablet for over a year and I love it. Stock. It runs circles around my ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700t (which I had wanted for some time) but it is slow and clunky compared to my A3000. Highly recommend the A3000. I use it for social media, personal email, and news apps. I put movies and music on a 64GB microSD card for travel. Works awesome.

I've been using stock rom for about 2 years, IMO it was a bloat malware injected.
You'll see the huge difference of internet data usage when u start using @Olivier 's CM11 relatively.
But u should manage to gain root another way from framaroot cuz it wont work in cm11 & find a workaround to get ~16gb partition back.

How can I access my ebooks on another tablet?

I bought some ebooks with the Samsung credit we got with this device. But I really don't want to read on such a large tablet. Can I access these books on another device? I would rather read on my Nexus 7, but I can't figure out a way to get my books there. I couldn't even find a way to access the on Samsung Note 8 tablet. It doesn't seem reasonable to sell books that can only be read on a single device, so I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out how to access content I purchased on another tablet.
Thanks

Facebook? That's the only reference I can find to "fBook".
Btw, I tried installing Samsung Hub on my less than one year old (rooted) Samsung Note 8 and it installs but crashes on opening. Same result as on my Nexus 7 with build.prop edited to look like it's a Galaxy S4.
It is just insane that Samsung sells ebooks that aren't compatible with their own tablets.
How can I ever trust Samsung enough to purchase anything from them if what they sell isn't even compatible between the same family of devices of the current generation?!?

Are you saying the reason the Samsung hub app crashes on my Note 8 and Nexus 7 is because they are rooted?

It's probably framework dependant just like a lot of the TouchWiz apps. The note 8.0 should have Samsung hub by default though, assuming you haven't debloated it.

I agree the Note 8 *should* have Samsung Hub, since it is a current generation Samsung device in the same family of tablets, but it doesn't. And it is not even listed as compatible on Samsung page:
http://www.samsung.com/us/samsunghub/
Which is why I'm at a loss why anyone would trust Samsung to buy anything from them if their own tablets aren't even compatible?

Are the books as single files? As in can ou browse for them on your device?
Or is it purchased through an application?
I use a combination of google drive + Moon Reader to achieve some thing similar.
All my books are on the google drive and moon reader + syncs my reading position so I can read on

Hi XDA guys,
Bought my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 through Expansys UK and noticed that I don't have the Samsung Knox software installed. Anyone else have the same case? Does this mean I can root without any issue of tripping any counter? Is the private mode same as the Knox? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I have Galaxy Tab S SM-T705. I did not see any KNOX app on it but I found it in application manager. I rooted it then disappointment I have tripped KNOX.
Do you know where is KNOX app?
Go to setting - General - Security - Device administrators if it has KNOX then click on it for install or not.
I hope it will help you.
Sorry my bad English Grammar.
Thanks for all the reply and yeah I think Knox is somewhere out there. I have somehow made a decision that I will root which I always do but not until we have official Android L.
