Hi All,
I am trying to unlock bootloader in htc desire 816, as i read from blogs i got a Unlock_code.bin file from HTC then i tried "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" after this it's gives a pop up in my htc phone with YES and ON option i select YES then phone goes to recovery mode and i received the following error :-
E: missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg
(Code-1)
E: missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg_yes
(Code-1)
E: missing bitmap oem_unlock_bg_no
(Code-1)
Write host_mode success
handle_cota_install: Can't mount /sdcard, 1 times
handle_cota_install: Can't mount /sdcard, 2 times
handle_cota_install: Can't mount /sdcard, 3 times
handle_cota_install: Can't mount /sdcard, 4 times
handle_cota_install: Can't mount /sdcard, 5 times
and i can see as "LOCKED" in the bootloader.
The issue is my HTC 816 keeping on rebooting automatically every 30 seconds( Don't know why) so trying to put custom ROM so that may be this issue can be resolved.
Please do HELP!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks hisham, But nothing is working, neither factory reset nor any other option from recovery.
i don't get any error while doing wipe data/factory reset at last it says data wipe complete but when i reboot my phone everything is same. all my setting and apps are still installed.
According to me, the issue is "Whatsapp" app(may be some issue) because of this app my phone keeping restarting. I tried uninstalling in the 30 second window but when i uninstall it shows as uninstalled but as soon as my phone reboot and i check again whatsapp is there.
So no data is been deleted/uninstall.
Now any suggestion on this.

I downloaded the latest CyanogenMod 7 with Google apps, renamed to update.zip, placed in the root of SD card, booted up the HBOOT screen (volume down + power button) and selected RECOVERY. It went into another screen where there is a phone picture with red triangle and exclamation mark in the middle, at the bottom it says "E:can't open /cache/recovery/command". I googled it up and many said to just ignore it, so I did.
Then following video guide I got up to the point where I have to install from update.zip and it fails there saying:
Finding update package
Openinng update package
Verifying update package
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
So now I have no data, no cache partition and no phone.

Look for a pc49img.zip file of clockworkmod recovery for the wildfire (buzz) and put it on the root of your sdcard. Boot to hboot and let it update your recovery. Once that is done delete the file from your sdcard and boot back into hboot. Select recovery. Perform the following.
Factory reset
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Install from sdcard/choose/cyanogenmod.
Install from sdcard/choose/ gapps.
Reboot.
Allow up to 10 minutes for the first boot to work and you should be good to go.
Your problem is that the stock recovery still checks for htc signatures I believe so it won't (or will only partially flash) other firmwares.
Also this is the wrong forum, you want the (buzz) wildfire forums. This is the more up to date wildfire (marvel)

By mistake I have tried to update my HTC One X with an EVITA rom, now my Phone is not booting at all.
Tried installing the original RUU_ENDEAVOR exe, but it gives ma a 156/158 error. During the update of the signature (translated).
I guess because it is assuming I have a (not working) 4.18.401.2 ROM now and it only sets the stock back if it is equal or newer to that version (no where to be found).
Secondly when I try to install any rom the fastboot commando is returning "remote: not allowed".
The bootloader is giving me the following information:

I can enter RECOVERY with has ClockWorks installed, when I try to install a custom rom there with sideload it says "remote: not allowed"
Cleared all Cash and cleaned the device, Relocking the bootloader does not help, leaving the phone shutdown for a while, are things I did try my self already.
I am totally stuck and would appreciate any advice you might have !

As long as you can still get into recovery, you can probably still flash a new rom. Do a full wipe (including dalvik cache). If you can not get into recovery try flashing recovery first from fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img), place recovery.img in fastboot folder

If I go in recovery and mount my sdcard, how do I copy something on the cart ?
Assuming there is a sdcard in the phone internal somewhere, my device does not seem to have a slot to put one in.
Ok, found new info...
When booting in the bootloader it if giving errors (screen goes a way quickly after, needed 6 resets before I could type it over):
SD Checking...
Failed to open usb master mode
[Preload] Failed to open usb master mode
Loading PJ46IMG.zip image...
Failed to open usb master mode
Please plug off USB
Does this give any hints?
Ok, I had to go in the recovery to 'Mount USB device'.. Then Windows got a drive and I could copy a rom (zip) to the sdcart..
That one I installed in the recovery menu. after some minutes it did say it was done, and now the phone is working with a custom rom !!
Thanks Agil1ty !!!

This is because you had a USB plug in when starting bootloader. That's all.
Still having the problem? Wipe your cache and dalvik cache. Restore backup. If your on JB, try flashing your ROM afew times to get it working proper. Did about 5 times on Saturday before I got my phone back to normal.

I Just did a update with RUU_M8... and then Over Bootloader..
Well, the first problem I see is that you have locked your device back.
S-off or S-on, you still need the bootloader unlocked to flash anything through fastboot.
You prob have a corrupted system, with a locked bootloader, so it won't boot nor it won't allow you to flash anything.
So again I repeat, unlock your bootloader, try flashing through fastboot again.
Hello, I tried to update my phone to android 6.0.1, but after the update my phone stuck at htc logo for about 1 hour, so I decided to restart my phone to see what happen and now my phone stuck at black screen after htc logo.
Before update my device have already rooted with twrp recovery, so I tried to flash stock recovery back into the device. (I get the stock recovery file "recovery.img" by extract file "download/OTA_EYE_TUHL_L50_SENSE60_MR_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.19.707.5-2.19.707.3_release_468771.zip/firmware.zip/recovery.img" that I've download into internal memory when update my phone) I don't sure is it the cause of the problem. Then I flash the recovery.img to my phone by using newest windroid toolkit and install the update. First the update run smoothly but end up stucking at htc logo as I've told you before.
I am very beginner and I really have no idea what happen and how to fix my phone, please help me. Thank you very much.

That is completely wrong. The exe does nothing more than HTC_fastboot flashing a ruu.zip. You don't need S-OFF for the SD card method.

How do I find out which version of ruu matches my phone?
