Same thing is happening to my 2 Note 4's. I've even done 2 factory resets. It seems to work at first, but the issue resurfaces.

I took the full tar from Sunderwear's post here. I've factory reset and wiped everything except internal and external storage, then I odined the tar file. It ran beautifully. I didn't like the stock launcher, so I'm using google now launcher. I since rooted using beastmode zip file and it still runs beautifully.

I recieved the OTA volume fix for the Galaxy Nexus. IT asked for a reboot. I agreed and the phone counted down, then shutdown, but didn't startup. I waited and waited, for around 2 minutes. The phone remained powered off. I attempted to switch it on, but the power button would not respond, so I removed the battery, and put it back in. It then started up, but still on the old ITL41D software.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so what do I do now, and will I get another opportunity?
Thank you so much
Is your phone rooted?
If yes, I have had the same experience.
Mine is still on 41D

I have the same problem, but other rooted users are not having the same problem. Does anyone have any insight on this?
I'd just flash the updates yourself if your having problems. 41F (volume fix) is already outdated as of yesterday. If you want to stay basically stock and rooted bigxie has the updated ROM(with kernel) that is simply rooted, deodexed, busyboxed.
Download his rom and load it with CWM. ( i clear cache and dalvik before flashing the new rom and everything was smooth). I then flashed the updated bootloader with fastboot.
So tonight out of the blue, my Rogers Galaxy S3 restarted itself. This isn't totally unusual, as sometimes this will happen once or twice a day, but never has it been too bad.
First off, I've been running Cyanogenmod 10.0, and again, has been relatively problem free. The first major issue I had was a week or so ago when I woke up to my phone having seemingly restored it's default settings on its own. Apps and all my other data were intact, but widgets, app settings, etc, were all cleared.
Now tonight, my phone can rarely boot into CM, and when it does, the power menu will appear shortly thereafter before restarting itself once again. If the phone is plugged in, I can't get anything other than the charge indicator to come on the screen for more than a second. The phone also does this when trying to boot into recovery mode or download mode.
I'm at a total loss as to what to do here, so I'm going to be leaving the phone off with the battery out over night. Appreciate any feedback in the meantime.
Also having a similar problem: phone boots up, will barely enter the bootloader/TWRP/boot animation for hyperdrive ROM. Also with rogers. I believe it might be SDS but I need to re install the stock firmware and can barely boot into the bootloader without the phone dying (battery is charged though). Any help greatly appreciated!
EDIT: managed to boot up for long enough to install "eMMC check" and apparently I have a 'sane chip'.
There have been issues with the power button getting stuck. Maybe you have that issue?

Well, after pulling most of my hair out, that does seem to be the issue. Would explain why the power menu would come up the few times it did manage to boot. I managed to get it working for a while, but the button seems to be really delicate since picking my phone up and barely touching it reset it again.
I guess now I need a solution to the power button sticking, but at least it doesn't seem to be SDS.
Okay, that makes sense. When I leave the phone completely stable it's fine.
However, I have tried unrooting and reinstalling stock firmware. However, my system status in bootloader is still custom, when I boot up the rom I still have superuser installed. I tried installing two different stock firmwares for Rogers and the same problem. Any help would be great, I really want to send this in for warranty ASAP.
EDIT: After using ODIN to install stock rom, I still had Superuser. I installed SuperSU and then preformed it'sfull unroot. After that i cleared data and cache from stock recovery and the phone is now at original status and seems to not be randomly rebooting/dying. Weird.
I was using my phone earlier today and was attempting to extract an archived file with OfficeSuite 7. I had merely 400-500 of free space available at this point. After a few attempts and cancellations due to failure to extract I decided to restart my phone. Upon restarting it continuously will vibrate, show the Samsung logo for a moment, the screen will flicker off and it loops through that process all over again indefinitely. I can access download mode and recovery mode. I tried clearing the cache through recovery and removing the battery as well as smacking around the power button but it did not fix the problem.
I'm using stock TouchWiz Android 4.1.1 partly debloated, rooted, and stock recovery (because this ROM reflashes the stock recovery after a reset if a non stock recovery is installed).
I figure a factory reset might be the fix but I would need to extract my apps, settings, and SMS/all other data and I'm not sure how to do this with the phone in this condition and without an external SD card. Maybe I could flash ClockWorkMod, do a nandroid backup, and than extract this data with Titanium Backup? Can Titanium Backup do all that I am asking (I've barely used it)? Does anyone have an idea as to what the cause of the problem is to have this suddenly happen? I'm thinking it's the power button malfunctioning. The day prior twice my phone turned itself off.
Twrp has built in file manager. Copy to sd, then to computer?
Otherwise look into ADB.

strange I am have the same issues . from working great to now FC and rebooting . almost like it the power button malfunctioning but it is not. Its something more. I was running DocHoliday 4.3 and was great . then I tried Aamir Mod V2 UVDMD5 4.3 same great . but this morning noticed it kept rebooting for no reason . wiped reset, nothing . looped and looped . wipe/reset and re-flashed and it will only stay on for a mintue . and if sleeps will not turn it F/C as soon as I touch power button.. crazy ???
anyone having the same problems with any 4.3 ROMs ??
I'm having the problem on my S3, but I'm not on 4.3 yet....
I already had this issue once 2 weeks ago and I factory wiped and started over. Fast forward two weeks forward and it started again today. WTF?

Are you using TWRP? I had a similar issue, upgraded to newest TWRP 2.6.3.1 and it was fixed. Before this I tried everything, factory reset/modem upgrade/different roms.. and it wasn't working..other than a rooted touchwiz rom.
Give it a shot.. might work..
As per Perseus71:
Install TWRP 2.6.3.1. Then take a Nandroid.
Next wipe /Data. Then flash your Custom Rom. Wipe Dalvik + Cache after the Flash.
I have been having problems with my phone recently. It's a galaxy note 2 and has Phoenix ROM on it. It's using a 4.4.2 ROM, but it was upgraded from a 4.3 ROM. I was using my phone on 4.3 ROM and after a while it started to get problems with restarting randomly and it kept losing root permissions, so i decided to try to fix it by putting a new ROM on. That didn't work, so i rerooted the phone and, reflashed the recovery formatted my entire device and fixed partitions. This fixed the permission problems, but my phone still keeps having issues. It keeps restarting randomly and the phone often won't respond when the power button is pressed, whether or not the screen is on. I also have a gesture suite that allows me to turn off the screen if i do a gesture, but this isn't working to turn it off either. The ROM also flashed a new kernel, so it can't be the kernel.
Bump. Can anyone help? This is making my phone unusable.
Could be the bootloader. .. you need at least mj5 bootloader or the newer bootloader. .. reboots happen with older bootloader

My brothers Galaxy Nexus crashed two days ago and rebooted. Since than whenever you boot it again, it boots normally but after about 10 seconds crashes and reboots again. No matter if you unlock it, SIM installed or not, with external power or not makes no difference. Always keeps crashing and rebooting. So the first thing I did was a factory reset within the bootloader. When it restarted nothing was wiped. Wallpaper, unlock code and all apps were still there.
Weird.
So I decided to flash the the whole stock image again. Downloaded the latest version from Google and flashed it. Took a fairly long time (30 minutes), but had no errors or irregularities and had the same result as the factory reset -> nothing. Everything is still there.
How can this even be? The only thing I could imagine is a broke storage. Is this a possibility?
Thanks in advance
It might be a broken storage. One thing you can try is to flash an older version than upgrade via OTA. Assuming that you have 4.3, you can flash 4.2.2 than via OTA, you can update. I had a rebooting problem before, but it was because of my battery. When I unlocked my bootloader I was surprised to see that my data was still there but when I factory reseted, it was gone.
