Hello G Pro users.
So as some of you may know, I sort of have a little bit of experience compiling ROMs and kernels. It's not a lot, but it's enough to get something done. Anyways, I learned of an exciting new project started by some promising devs: http://www.venturerom.com/. This is hopefully going public soon, and I hope I can get it to work for our device (even though it'll be unofficial). AOSPA based and everything. It is aimed at battery life and features. All I have to say is WOW. It looks great
Any thoughts? I love Bliss, Beanstalk, Carbon, and PAC. But there is ALWAYS more room for ROMs on our device IMO.
Plus Carbon is currently going under L changes, so I cannot update that for a while, these guys are pushing for 4.4.4, which means solid working project! Yay!
If you haven't tried custom ROMs yet, or just AOSP for that matter, I highly suggest you give it a try. Best Android experience IMHO.
Go go go dude!! You the man!! Thanks for all the effort you are putting in developing for this device,

They released RC1 last night and it should be out tonight
I don't think they'd have wanted me to release it beforehand. Keep your eyes peeled
Having multiple rom is cool, but in my opinion the best thing is having optimized popular rom such as slimrom.
Now our device is powerful enough to handle all roms and all market app for now.
Bun in 2-3 years, I think optimized rom will appreciated.
In example, lot of user still using HTC desire and desire Z, even with a stock 800mhz single processor and 512mb ram, because great dev port 4.4.4 rom in the proper way.
So my Dad decided he doesn't like his G3 - I know, he's crazy. So we have decided to swap phones. I had a Nexus 5 which I loved. I'm looking to get the G3 as close to stock lollipop as I possibly can as my Fun Prevention Officer (wife) has the Gold G3 and I'm less than impressed with the standard ROM.
I've had a look through the threads here searching about for a stock ROM and it seems there are plenty available but I wanted to get some opinions on what you guys think is the most stable.
I'm well up on ADB, rooting etc so I don't need help with the method, just your opinions on the 'best' , most stable closest to stock Lollipop ROM.
Cheers dudes and dudesses.

Hello, I'm new on the formus but I have tried several stock rom versions for my variant (D855). I think that Cloudy G 2.1 is one of the best lollipop stock rom version you can try. It is updated to the latest (20F) version, it's debloated and bumped and it is pretty stable (the only bug I know is the bluetooth issues present in all stock versions):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
Finally keep in mind that we have a Official CM 12 build in the Android Original development section that works flawless in case you like (much more like AOSP).

Thanks straim. I'm looking for something closer to the Nexus 5 really. I saw the Official CM12 had been released but wasn't sure on the stability being a nightly.

If you want stock close to LG: Cloudy: stable
If you want stock close to "naked" android: CM12: I would not use it as a daily driver yet, but i'll sure do in a more stable state.
Thanks raptor. I guess stability would come above stock Android in my priorities list. I'll give Cloudy a whirl...

That's for sure, CM is fantastic but they need a bit of time to make it good. Cloudy is a good transition phase. Guess LG's rom is pretty good.
There are other Roms in the dev section, but I haven't really looked at them.

Yeah I had a glance through them.
Cloudy it is then. At least until CM gets an M release out....
Thanks again all.

The bug causes audio glitches and sometimes is necessary to unlink an link the device to avoid issues like battery drain. You can seek something like "Bluetooth|car audio issues" in general or q&a forums for more information.
Ps: I use cm 12 as daily driver.
What about for me that I use wireless headphones, will that affect me?

I recommend you stick with stock roms (Cloudy or ChupaChups), as the AOSP roms like CyanogenMod have dreadful camera software and quality. It's like you're back from LG G3 to a Nexus 4 camera, it's s**t! Sound volumes are also lower on AOSP, has something to do with drivers i think... But for the rest, cyanogenmod is stable, quick, light on the battery, and real pleasing to the eyes as it's one of the best looking roms on the market with themes support and all... But if you want to make the best out of your G3, use Cloudy G3 2.1. It's as fast and light on resources as cyanogenmod 12, as good looking if you flash the Lollipop theme (link on the first page of Cloudy thread), but you get to keep the amazing camera quality and sound volumes of the stock rom. After 2 months of flashing and testing roms on my G3, i can say, Cloudy has the winner here, hands down!

So what's the latest on Cyanogenmod? Is it stable yet? I used it for a while a few months ago but would have random locks and have to do a battery pull.
I have Cloudy 2.2 at the moment but honestly, I'm not a fan. I really want CM12 but only if it's stable.
What's the verdict?
can't go past full stock ( regular updates with http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/stock-t2961073 ), and G3 TweaksBox. works like a charm even though TweaksBox and the Xposed framework are both in alpha
Does someone compare the last versions of Cloudy and Chupa Chups ?
I was curious about this question because every single ROM out there for the LG is a cm12 base Lollipop. Lollipop is so boring and getting to a point where what else can it do. I don't mean to diss Lollipop but when I had the Thunderbolt or GS3 there were other roms. Roms from other phones imported to other phones. No matter what name of the rom thats out there now, they're all the same looking rom.
Being a rom junkie and hoping to find a new rom with "WOW" is very difficult. I'm sure I'm not the only person thinking this. I know that the Lollipop for the LG will be out soon and it'll be just a subtle change. I just hope that more dev's will create roms using bits and pieces of other OS to make it interesting.

There are stock based roms like skydragon and cloudy 1.2. I'm running cloudy 1.2 and getting good results.

So... you actually want a pre-themed ROM that slows down while adding no extra value to the phone?
I would think, being a "ROM junkie", you might consider being a "ROM dev-ie" and contribute something like you are seeking.
That's irrelevant to the topic at hand and not everyone at XDA has a background in programming.
On topic: I think there's really only Cloudy and that would be your best bet. Hopefully the T-Mobile variant gets an update an update to Lollipop soon. Anything else is basically just stock with whatever tweaks they claim are in to improve performance. Cloudy actually adds some cool new features.
I always found it weird that the majority of custom ROMs are all AOSP based and never based off of the stock ROM of the phone. Is there a reason for that? Sources not being as open as Google sources? It would be cool if we had a legitimate LG based ROM similar to what CM and other ROM devs do for AOSP.
It would be cool if there was something like Cloudy with features from G3 Tweaksbox baked into it.
Thanks everybody, I wish I can develop a rom but I know it takes time and that I don't have with school and all. But, waiting for the LG update is taking a long time. I know that there's some bugs that need to be handled so hopefully in the first quarter it'll be released. There was the MIUI that was different from other roms but they or the developer has stopped working on it. If hardcore work was done on it and kept it updated then that would have been my everyday rom, but I use either "Blisspop" or "Euphoria" they are pretty great and is always updating for perfection. Never tried Cloudy will give it a try. Thanks.
I had horrible experience with Euphoria. Rapid Battery drain and also phone heating up. Restored to stock but I miss my One Plus One Cyanogenmod 11s!
When Will Samsung release an update for LP on the Tab Pro line? Will we ever see LP stock based ROM's for the Tab Pro?
try CM12
most of the bugs have been ironed out by now and I've had no issues in day to day use (been using it for the past 2 months)
Chances seem to be slim that we will ever get an official Lollipop ROM, but nobody really knows, only Samsung knows. They seem to be releasing a Lollipop ROM for the Note 2, which is a fairly old phone.

I guess (and I don't really have a confirmation of this) that it's not totally based on the age of the phone but of the popularity. I supose only the Galaxy S portfolio is getting the attention.

+1 to this.
Even on KitKat, stock TouchWiz was a laggy mess, and CM11 a huge improvement.
Stop waiting around for Samsung to release something they might never even release; and flash CM12 that some of us have been enjoying for some time now.
Agreed. I bought it last December and am very happy with rooted performance on debloated stock rom 4.4.2 base. I also ha E an LG g3 and have that running SkyDragon Lp stock based rom which is extremely fluid and battery is amazing. Just wondering g if anyone heard of anything for the pro line.

Not waiting around. I'm rooted on all devices. On the Tab Pro I have a stock based 4.4.2 debloated rom which is great. I like the Lp features (running Sky Dragon LA on my LG GA VS985) and was wondering if anyone heard anything. As far as aosp or cm I'm not a huge fan. Ran cm12 nightlies on it for a month and missed some of the stock options. Especially in terms of screen resolution. Ultimately I'm waiting for a debloted stock LP rom and will run a stock based rom until then as my DD. I will sample CM/AOSP Roms of course because we all love flashing, moddong, tweaking. This thread is here for any and all to bring ideas, creativity, answers, and for us to collaborate I guess. Maybe something awesome will come from it, who knows

Someone has made a start porting T900 (4.4.2) TO T520 (Exynos chipset). Lollipop stock rom is available for T900:

I have GPS issues and my Samsung MHL adapter does not work with it. I flashed the 4.4.2 stock firmware and everything is working. I won't be flashing anything not until the above problems are fixed.

I am thinking of purchasing a G3. The G4 is good, but it didn't wow me. Is there a good Lollipop rom that is high performance? I had a G3 in the past and it was laggy, moved to Nexus 6 with Benzo Rom on it and it is fast.

Hi there.
You have not specified which model G3 you have but either way the best custom ROM 5.1.1 (based on CM 12.1) at the moment is BlissPop and you can have more info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-blisspop-v2-0-ls990-t3022685
It is a an extremely stable ROM, with lots of Official releases for all G3 models, it comes supplied with LOADS of options to customize your phone the way you want it and it has many dedicated people helping others for support, including myself.
Also like you asked it is super fast and smooth and has @777jon kernel which is fantastic!
I will see you on the BlissPop thread soon!
I hope this helps you and if it did please press the thanks button.
Thanks for that, I tried Cloudy, and now Bliss pop on my G3 850 AT&T. Bliss pop is very fluid, quick, as quick as my Nexus 6. Thanks for the tip.
Well, i wouldn't say BlissPop is "The Best" but it's definitely one of the best ROM's out there.
I, personally, use and love the Resurrection Remix ROM for quite some time.
The point is there are many great ROM's. You just have to pick one and try it.
