Login problems with the HTC Mail application?

Hello all.
A few weeks ago, my HTC mail app started acting up telling me "Login failed" anytime I tried refreshing the app to check my emails from both my Yahoo & Gmail account I have set up on it. I called Sprint, and after a ##3282# mission with them, they were able to get it to work.
However, yesterday it started doing it again. This time, I tried the #3282# technique myself to no avail. I tried clearing the data from the app, but when I try to enter my user name/password, it tells me the info is incorrect. I know it isn't, because I can login on any computer, and even the Yahoo app works. However, I like using the HTC app for my emails and I want to get that one working again.
Sprint is now telling me they don't know what is going on, and want to:
a) Do a complete factory reset to my phone, or
b) Take it in to a Sprint store for service.
Does anyone have any ideas of something I can try before giving in to them?
I have the direct number to Sprint Tech Support, and they have me on hold researching the issue now. However, I don't think they are going to come back with anything helpful. I think I just got lucky with a good tech the first time I called and am now dealing with far less tech-savvy people.

[Q]Paid app showing not purchased?

Hey everyone I wanted to see if I'm in the wrong or if this has happened to anyone else.
I purchased Rom Toolbox Pro from Jrummy in January, I used it for everything just about and I was always able to download it easily. About a week ago I flashed a new Rom and when I went install Rom Toolbox Pro, it didn't show purchased. I had had this problem before all i needed to do was force close the play store and i would reopen and it would show all my purchased apps, but this time it didn't work so i cleared cache on the play store, and it still didn't work. So i decided to call Google/have them call me. The woman who called was very helpful and understood that i had a rooted device and she tried to help me out as much as she could. We saw that the app was previously purchased in January, but even on the website it no longer shows purchased. She forwarded the issue onto the "specialists" and said they would contact me back within 48 hours. After about 3 days I had Google call me back just so I could checkup on the issue, when I asked for a manager they tried to transfer me, but the phone hung up. When I called again I was really fed up, a woman answered and I was a bit snippy with her, but then the manager walked over and said he was supposed to talk to me, so they transferred the call. The manager was very nice and very helpful, he said he would put his name on the issue which would put it at the front of the queue. Later that day I receive an email asking if I can see that the app is purchased on the website, I replied saying no. They said they could refund me the app, but the problem is, I no longer have the card the application was purchased on. They said I should contact Jrummy and have some input from him. I already contacted before I even called Google, and he said he can only refund and the issue seems to be on Google's side. So I tell the specialist this, and then they begin to blame my device saying that it being rooted would cause the application to be incompatible. I bluntly told the specialist that having a rooted or custom ROM can make an application be incompatible, but that is not my issue, the issue is their database. I then asked for a manager to contact me. Thee specialist replied saying "I understand your point, however I would not advise something I haven't seen proof of." WTF? and "Other users who have had rooted devices, experienced this issue, once they un-rooted, they were able to access their paid apps" so have any of you "experienced this issue"? He made no point prior that this issue was somewhat resolvable and acted as if the only way to retrieve the app was to unroot or refund, but when I ask for a manager "I was willing to make an exception and refund for the app, however you do not have the credit card used to make the purchase. Other users have experienced this issue, most are not rooted. We are currently looking into the issue. I can not guarantee that when it is resolved you will have access to the app, however if you would like to be patient and wait, I can notify you when the issue is resolved."You were willing to make an exception? LOL He also said if I would like to speak with his manager to reply to the email, so before I did that I wanted to ask your opinions.
TL;DR
>Purchased app in January
>No longer shows purchased
>Called Google
>Never contacted me back
>Called back
>Contacted me back
>They insist its my rooted phone and incompatibility issues(not true because app shows up, just says not purchased)
>Ask for manager
>What's your opinion?
Reboot the phone. Clear cache. It worked for me.

Oh and don't forget to clear app data too. Then just login again.

Well I already did this basically, but it's not my phone, because on the website it shows that its not purchased even.
Well when this happened to me I had to wipe app data, cache, and reboot. If you are on a custom rom then perhaps try rrflashing gapps. Or maybe all of it.

I'm having the same problem with them. It's a known problem they say

If its showing as not purchased on the website, then it sounds like a problem with Googles Servers, not your phone. I would keep contacting them about it, tell them when you login to your account on a computer it doesn't show as purchased.
Menu /settings /apps/ all. /Google play /Clear data. Now Open back up market login again. And should show you purchased apps that wht I do when I come across that issue

Why not email google your receipt? Google sends me a receipt for everything that I purchase. And it's in Gmail....so I have everything that's ever been sent to me.

Facebook Messenger

My Moto 360 showed me incoming facebook messages no problem, but I have never once seen one on my Huawei watch. I've tried resyncing the apps, re-pairing the watch, enabling all permissions for all apps involved, everything I can think of. Anyone have this problem and solve it?

Checked it. Not blocked.
Did you get an answer?
I just got an original Huawei watch yesterday (on sale, Amazon), and everything seems to be working as it should be except Facebook Messenger. After much tinkering, I am able to receive messages occasionally (not every one), but my only option to reply is a thumbs up. I can't send out on Messenger at all. Is this just the Huawei watch, or is it an AW 2.0 problem? I really want AW 2.0, but not being able to use messenger is a deal breaker for me. I am thinking of returning the watch, but for what? If the other AW 2.0 watches have the same problem, there's little point. Thanks for any help you can give me.

When I created this post, I was on Wear 1.5. Since 2.0, the problems have been fixed for me. I get notifications no problem.
Swipe up on the thumbs up to get more options. Select voice if you want to reply. Even though it says voice, you will be given the option to use the keyboard to respond as well.
Messenger on Huawei watch
I've just got an original Huawei watch and I'm using it with a Umi Super . Having downloaded the Facebook messenger app, when I open it on the phone I get a message saying "To use messenger, install the app on your phone first".
I already have messenger installed on my phone and no matter how many times I uninstall/reinstall. This is I get.
Has anyone else had this? Or have any ideas how to solve it?
Thanks

PO'd with Watchmaker

Last night I paid for the Watchmaker Pro license and the Companion app. I was able to upload some faces and switch between them. No problem whatsoever until just after midnight when all of the sudden I lost my accounts. I had rebooted my phone just prior to this happened.
When I tried to login, the passwords do not work and when I try to reset the password, I get "account doesn't exist". The CC charges are not reversed and nobody at Watchmaker has responded since the 1AM email I sent asking what was going on with the forwarded receipt.
Anyhow, is there ANY decent software out there that allows you to upload a face you have and use it that is free? Yes, I am frustrated. Yes, I am pissed off that I am not getting any support yet. If you charge for an app you should at least have an automated system saying "Hey, we got your email and will be back with you within X hours." It isn't that difficult setting up an auto-reply to acknowledge that you received an email.
Yes, that was a venting. It is just so freaking frustrating that you charge for an app before someone can test it and then this BS happens. As I said before, if you are going to charge for an app you need to provide some customer service which includes some type of acknowledgement saying you received a message. The old "Oh, it came but we didn't think you needed to know we put you in a queue for help" doesn't quite cut it in today's society.

Question Google's Messages stuck on "trying to verify" in chat features activation menu

Never had an issue with this app doing this before, but here we are. I've made sure my number was correct, and even added the Messages app to MagiskHide (which I've never had to do before). It still is stuck. Eventually it gives up trying to verify, but tapping the button just repeats the same issue again. Any ideas?

It's really annoying I've had this before. What I did I'd clear data cache in the messages app restart phone then do same again delete data cache then open messages app and try again. If that fails then you have to turn chat off for 7 days don't try turning chat on within the 7 days otherwise it resets to 7 days again. It's a right pain in the but.
I wish I had a answer for you. I was having the same issue on stock, switching to global, switching to eu, etc. Just a couple nights ago I installed magisk and no modules and left my phone alone for a bit (maybe a hour?), When I picked it back up I had 10 encrypted messages I couldn't read come in from a friend that must have came in over the past couple weeks. It was just random.

Seven days?
Seems excessive. How/where did you get this length of time?

I tried Dale's suggestion, clearing data and cache and rebooting the phone. After a minute it popped up the message "enabling chat features, we'll let you know when it's ready." Checked the settings 15 minutes later, and it said "Trying to verify..." STILL but the button to manually verify was usable.
This sucks.
This had happened to me ever since I got the phone and since my carrier is Verizon, It didn't work right out the gate and tried so many different solutions.
then I read that it could still be linked to your old phone so i put my sim card back and then turned off features and then popped it back to the OP and then just left the messages app run in the background and then it suddenly said chat features enabled.
I don't know if this will help you but it worked for mine.

I turned it off on my old device (doesn't have service anyway). Still no dice. Ugh!!
I've had multiple issues with apps not sending OTP codes or being able to log in completely, and I even think I've had the same issue you are having when I had "dns.adguard.com" set as my private dns setting. Also, if you use AdAway, that could cause the issue. For some reason I have to disable AdAway to use the Amazon app. Weird.

If you have some sort of vpn running, try disabling it and activating chat features. For me it won't work until I turn my vpn off.
is Google carrier services app is up to date on your phone?

Oh yep, in fact I had another thread about that. Turns out the new AdAway seems to inadvertently block a lot of things. Try adding "*amazon*" (without quotation marks) to the whitelist. PayPal was another I needed to add to the whitelist. I also added Google to see if it'd work for this, but nah... No such luck.

Thanks for the Amazon tip! I was trying to figure it out for the longest time. Even tried the hard way of adding it a long time ago. Just got used to disabling it to use the app or using Amazon through a browser.
It always takes a minute for my chat features to be enabled. Whenever I get a new phone, I always get the message saying "chat features are unavailable for this device" then after a few hours/days, the pop up says that they're ready. I think I leave Messages open in the background. Never had to disable it on the previous device. T-Mobile user here.

Sure thing, glad I could help. If anything, though, you should thank @terlynn4 for that whitelisting suggestion.
In my case this has been going on for a good few days. I've done websearches and researched all the possible causes and solutions I could find, but nothing has worked in my case. Yet. I think the main issue is that I'm not getting the authorization code that Google sends via a short-code service text or whatever those are called.

Usually when I don't receive the code, it's because AdAway or private DNS settings as stated before. But since you're not using any of those, I'm not sure what else would be preventing from sending the code. Is there any way you can use the Messages for Web feature, bring up your messages on PC, send the code that way and see if it comes up on the web?
I had the exact same issue as you, the issue was that Verizon still had my old phone associated with my account. Verizon support asked my for my iccid (16 digit number physically printed on the sim card), and after they associated it with my new phone I received the backlog of all the sms from short codes that I had missed and rcs verified after 15 minutes and a reboot.

LMAO, was that what it was? Funnily enough, now that you mention that, that might be the case for me as well. I had recently jumped from a OnePlus 7T to the 9 Pro, and everything had transitioned smoothly, other than this.

I don't think it did. Or would. Still no message on either end. Something isn't allowing it to be sent in the first place, it seems.

I had the exact same issue on verizon, but with a globel version. Wouldnt recognize the phone at all. After calling, they pushed me to tech support. Because the phone isnt in their system, the guy had to take an IMEI from another CDMA-Less phone, and enable the CDMA-Less feature. Then he put my IMEI back. Rebooted, and got 2 days worth of texts, and chat features enabled instantly.
The guy said there's a chance that "cleaners" will comb through accounts and reset it, but if it happens, I just have to do the same thing again.
