Hi, how do I disable the long press action on the home screen? I accidently long-press it all the time, so I often return to my phone and find it in settings instead of my home screen.
Don't think you can do that!

So, I really want to use Go Launcher, but have one issue. I want when I press the home button that it takes me to my middle home page. For example, let say I'm on screen four, I then go to an app, I then want to go to my HOME(main screen), when I press the home button, it takes me to the last screen I was on. I set the home screen up in the menu. Any advice? Thanks!
Try double tapping the home key

Under Go Launcher's preferences, the Gesture section, there's a setting for Home key action... set this to Function and then select "Show home screen, then overview" (or just "Show home screen", but I prefer the first myself). Then it will work ROUGHLY as you expect: a single tap of the home key while in an app or app tray will still bring you to the last home screen you were on, but tapping it again will bring you to your middle screen (and a third tap, if you selected the option I like, will show you the overview of all your home screens). FYI, I think you also need to disable S Voice's shortcut on the home key for this to work as well (it's in the settings inside S Voice as I recall).
This is frustrating. If I wake my phone by pressing the Home button i get taken to my designated home screen and not to the open app. The same does not happed if i wake the phone with the power button. This really annoys me in situations where i have the phone on a desktop as i have to use two hands to wake the phone!
Is there a way to change the action of the home button in this situation?
UPDATE: Problem solved. Enable a lockscreen! That was easy
Hello All,
I've conceded the fact that the phantom presses from capacitive buttons occur and cannot be stopped so I rooted my device (and commented the use of the search and menu button to be benign / vestigial). I am realizing home much I need to use the menu button. I attempted to use a program that put up a on screen menu but I just disliked it. I also to use launch key, but it only impact the long press of the search button which is already turned off.
Is there anyway to remap the longpress of home to act as a menu button?
Best,
Norman
So far i'm loving my new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (i317m). I've modified the setting to bypass the lock screen when i click the Home button.
The issue i'm seeing now is the screen is blanked, i click the home button, i can see the app i was using before the blanking BUT the screen promptly flashes taking me to the Home screen.
Is there any way to have the lock screen removed AND to have the home button NOT take me to the home screen IF when the home button is pressed the screen was blanked? A simple IF conditional.
Thanks for any help.
I'm trying to understand your AND statement "AND to have the home button NOT take me to the home screen IF when the home button is pressed the screen was blanked"
The first statement is easy, just pick no lock in settings but + AND statement?

Thanks so much for the response.
Yes the "AND" part is the tough part and the reason i asked it. I will clarify. The situation is this. I am well aware of the option Lock Screen >> Screen Lock | None. This was a useful option when i discovered it some time back as now when my unit blanks and i go to hit the home button to wake it up, the unit wakes and take me automatically to the Home screen bypassing the annoying Lock Screen. Terrific.
For those of us who have this option set will quickly notice an issue. If, for instance, one had Google Talk app running before the screen blanked, and later returned to wake up the unit by clicking the Home button (expecting to continue within GTalk), he will briefly see the GTalk app and then it will disappear and will now see the Home screen. One must now navigate back to the app.
I would like the Home button, if pressed to wake up the unit, to remain in the current application. This would be similar to the Power Button functionality. I'm hoping there is a "fix" for this nuisance.
UPDATE: It seems Samsung recognized this nuisance / bug and has corrected it within 4.1.2 but sadly it wont be available thru my Carrier for at least another 6 months (Canada is a bit slow with updates).
** I still would appreciate any work around in the meantime
UPDATE:
I neglected to mention i had the settings of S-Voice modified disabling opening S-Voice if the double click of the Home button occurred. I did this to speed up any Home button clicks.
I just discovered if i have this settings enabled it appears to prevent the click of the Home button to wake from exiting the existing app. The prob now is my Home button takes 1 sec (as opposed to 0.4 secs) to snap back to home when pressed. Sheesh.
Ugly but it is a start.
So heres my problem in a nutshell:
When I press the home button, my phone unlocks (I have no lockscreen), however it takes me to the home screen. Whereas if I hit the power button, the screen turns on where I left off. This is the expected behavior.
If I go into S-Voice, and select "Open via the home key", the home key unlocks the phone correctly, but I have to deal with the home button lag issue.
So, how do I get the best of both worlds? No lockscreen, no home button lag, and no issue with using the home button to wake the phone.
I could do without S-Voice all together so if thats an option Im OK with it.

I wasn't happy with the speed of the home button, I took off the double tap for svoice and I'm much happier not sure if that helps you
