Just a note. RUU takes FORVER to run. You just have to wait for it finish.

Yes the install wizard goes away then pops up minutes later. Very misleading with no loading bar.

What's wrong with cwm I've been using it since day 1 of rooting my one x and I've had no problems
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You install it in fastboot with
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Where recovery.img is the name of the downloaded img file
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem.
Not know how to solve.

I can't say I had this probem before, however with CWM installed I have had the problem that when my phone is off and charging it will then turn itself on at around 50% charge. Not sure if anyone has had this problem?

This problem was fixed with release 5.8.40 IIRC. However, I don't have that problem.

Yes of course there is, but in every ROM flashing guide they say you have to do it from PC because nobody likes you.

No need to be rude BenPoope.
No, unfortunately its not possible yet. It will be possible once bootloader is fully unlocked aka S-Off access.

It was just a joke. If I was a little too sensitive, perhaps having my name misspelt could be considered rude.
Unfortunately not.
I did some experimenting with this by manually flashing boot.img with dd
Reading and flashing a boot.img works fine but as soon as you reboot its back to old img.
Deduction
Hboot protection is removing external changes to the boot partition and the only way to get a change to stick after reboot is with fastboot which requires a PC to use

Okay i wait and flash my phone when im back in germany or in a internet cafe

I had this problem. With some trial and error I found that if you use windows task manager to kill all the instances of the ruu process and then carefully and deliberately double click the ruu so you are certain a clean double click occurred and then wait patiently. After several minutes it pops up and runs. For me this was on on win xp.
thanks for the help everyone

What I did was restored my original back up, then flashed stock recovery then relocked bootloader then ran the ruu and it wiped everything.
At a guess you'll need the 2.17 stock recovery, not sure where you'll find it unless its on the forum somewhere and the generic 2.17.401 ruu from the filefactory website.

You need to get again a new one as your file seems to be corrupted...be sure to copy the output for creating the file correctly otherwise you can't unlock it....mine always worked for the first try on many hox

I had this issue yesterday, it was extremely frustrating. You cannot see the phone, however as you said you can send a recovery. You can also push a rom to the sd card that I presume you cannot see in Windows when you mount it in Cwm or twrp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329090

This problem usually happens when ROM is corrupted, faced that problem on most HTC devices... I prefer to try fixing ur stock rom then unlocking your phone.
