As pixelmaster is one of the best thing in Zf2,
We need a ported app with all the features directly from the stock camera.
Currently missing : flash, super resolution mode, low light.
If any of the Dev try this, it will be really helpful.
It is in the Play store...I am on stock ROM, I am interested in switching, but the camera software is keeping me stock.

I had HyperDrive RLS15 and found that HDR was not working properly! It allows me to take one HDR photo and the next one don't let me go but the camera works fine with all the other photo modes. But being a huge fan on Apple HDR imaging i thought it would be fixed with the another kernel flashing. After making proper flash of kernel (NO Dirty Flash) it messes with so many stuff's so i decided to move back to the stock kernel but i couldn't find the proper stock coming with HyperDrive.
Can any share me the link for the Samsung Stock Kernel which comes in default with HyperDrive and any fix for the HDR Camera issue?

Wipe and reflash would be the best bet since you are having so many other issues....and get a better HDR camera app. There are several good standalone ones.
Hello, I just installed the CyanogenMod 12.1 for my S3 Neo, and I saw that the software the camera isn't the top ... I wanted to know so if it were somehow possible to flash a zip file using TWRP so that the camera cyano is replaced with a bit more cute!

Find & flash snapdragon camera or simply install from market the bacon camera (that is actually the same snapdragon camera with reworked interface & not for better).

How the **** do you guys have working cameras... every rom ive installed camera fails. I even try those "fixes" that are out there for each rom but still....

i can not install the miui camera app (from Miui 7.5.x Rom) in the
Lineage 14.1 from nijel8
Have anyone tried it too ? nijel8 says it has include the libs for the miui cam but it not work.
Any ideas ?
Or: which camera is good running ? The google cam makes problems, the actuell snapdragon cam also makes sometimes FC's, the OnePlus Camera running but have no features ... i.e. beauty effect.
The Miui cam is really nice .. but can not install.

You can't, it relies on MIUI framework resources like any app from any stock vendor rom. Libs have nothing to do with that.
What's wrong with built-in Lineage camera?
Hi everyone,
I already searched here but since all the answers were "old" (like 6+ months), I thought I should start a new thread.
Yesterday I have flashed twrp and rooted my phone.
Afterwards I enabled camera2api in build.prop.
I have a problem, like a lot of you, that front camera saves only black photos.
I would like to use the portrait mode, since I have used it on RN4 and it was cool and the camera was "better" than MIUI stock camera.
Also, front flash doesnt work on gcam. Is there a fix for that?
I mean since we have the front flashlight, it would be cool if we could use it for flash selfies.
I'm currently running MIUI 10 Developer ROM.
Is maybe that a problem?
If so, which custom rom should I flash and do I have to do anything special?
Or is it just wipe everything (except data), flash rom, flash gapps?

Special SerJo87 GCAM works really well. Front flash working but you have to disable HDR+ Enhanced or HDR+ sometimes to works on frontal camera.

I have downloaded and installed Lineage OS on my Poco F3.
It's a great device but there are some software problems that really bugs me (proximity sensor is a mess, some GUI element are not good for usability, the "everything you need, nothing you don't" thing and then the phone is full of useless apps that i don't need...)
Lineage OS solved all of my problems except for one: the camera.
I'm realizing that there is no real alternative for the native camera app because it offers you the full potential of the hardware with all the features.
Don't get me wrong: i tried Open Camera, GCam Port and other popular apps.
Really good projects but there is always something missing or not working.
In addition on Lineage some camera apps are just not available on the Play Store (for example Footej Camera... using another store, dumping the APK from another device... all useless... the app will recognize my device as not compatible).
Why is that?
Lastly i even tried to install the stock APK on Lineage without success.
What is your opinion on that?
What are the software limitations involved?
Is this a limiting factor for you?

I'm not someone who uses camera that much but I can tell you that I totally agree with people who think that native camera is the best. I use Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and there is no alternative to camera which comes originally. That's one of the reasons why I tend to use ROMs with camera very close to stock one or even the same like stock one.
Lineage is known to cripple cameras.
you sound pretty knowledgeable, so i'm probably not offering much here... but, ANXCamera (miui camera port) is being worked on for our device, as far as i can tell... the following is copied from T.Gram... may show promise later on, but for now it's not fully functional
How get ANX working (partially)—
1. Download the MiUI Core from here (MOD EDIT: Link Removed)
2. Download the latest ANX (full version modded for R) from here (https://camera.aeonax.com/)
3. Flash the MiUI Core and ANX Zip through Magisk
4. Reboot
5. Paste the device-feature XMLs (MOD EDIT: Link Removed) in–
/storage/.ANXCamera/features/
6. Download ANXCamera Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeonax.camerapro) from the Play Store and use it to enable all the desired features in ANX.
