SaberSunset is a project leaded by me, it's main focus is performance and stability, with a clean design. My goal is enhance Android experience as it's maximum by using custom toolchains, in this case, SaberMod, together custom scripts and build flags for devices that most of the ROM developers don't care about, in terms of improvements. So for the purpose of making it the way I want it, clean and fast, I decided to use Paranoid Project to start with, adding more features as I have time to do so, and optimizing it with high level optimizations.

As everyone knows, devices from Google, like Nexus, are much different than others, not saying LG's is not good, but their option to use their own custom version of Android in most of their devices makes the life of AOSP developers very hard, and most of the ROMs out there for those phones are not able to show the "real" Android experience that Nexus does. In order to bring these feeling back to some of these devices I started this project by one of the best phones already produced in my opinion, the great LG G2 and it's whole family of brothers to make developers life yet harder than usual.
But, let's go ahead, Nexus 5 has some good ROMs based on AOSP with the best improvements you may or may not know, like OptiPop, leaded by my friend Chet Kener, the UBER Kernel creator/developer, which is extremely enhanced and that's what we don't have much for LG G2, well, for most of the variants we don't have any. Then I started researching and tried many bases, optimizations, able to improve our experience to a Nexus level or even greater, and that is what we got in this thread today.

I want to show you how easy is building SaberSunset. First of all you need a Linux machine with the properly setup.
For this GUIDE purposes I'll only explain how to get Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty to build SaberSunset and everything you want.
Setting up the OS:
Download Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Trusty Tahr 64 bit from HERE
Do not use the 32 Bit version.
Burn it on a 4.7GB DVD or create a bootable USB stick.
How to create a bootable Ubuntu USB stick on Windows?
How to create a bootable Ubuntu USB stick on MacOS?
Change the boot ordinance to reflect your USB stick at the first position.
Ubuntu will load up and the on screen instructions will tell what to do, if you have troubles to install it, please Google it, but it's very easy.
After you boot up on Ubuntu you can change ordinance back to HDD/SSD at the first position.

Now you'll need to setup the environment.
Install Open-JDK 7 for the necessary Java development tools.

I'm compiling according to the priority I said, until tomorrow end I think it will be up, if it runs with no problems on D802, other variants should be fine as well. I need to fix the back button when IME is open and the changelog is not being pushed to the device yet. I think I need a

With the newest d802 telephony client crashes. I'll try to get a logcat later after work.
Symptom: somebody who tries to call me did get a free sound followed with "temp. unavailable", on my side the client just crashes. I even had it crash after a call.
It still has sound distortion problem (that all lp roms have?) too.
And I was unable to install latest viper4android, it crashes on boot (lp variant of course).

Telephony I haven't seen, thanks for pointing. Viper4Android has been added as prebuilt.
Just gimme the name of the crashing package/module after work, I'll disable strict aliasing for it, maybe this has broken some code in the telephony, very easy to fix tough.

Same problem as biert87 here too, incoming call → Unfortunately, Phone has stopped
But the calling end receives a normal beep as if it was ringing on the other side.
Grabbed a catlog when recreating the problem, attached. (Syslog → Unfortunately, Android System has stopped )
On another note: There is no default messaging app in this rom so if you are flashing a small gapps package say nano or pico (and have two step verification on for your google account) you won't be able to add your account without first disabling two step verification

Same bug For me..i need to switch back to my nandroid because my girlfriend call me a lot of time And my phone not ringing or display the call... After that bug the rom works so smooth!!

You right, I can confirm this as well as the callings not working properly to receive, but I already know how to fix it
Anyone to test D800 with some OPTs that I didn't test on the D802? It's pretty much more optimized I think, just need to know if it will boot and have the same issues. It's uploading...
First D800
Updated the OP with D800 download repo, it shows RELEASE-2.0 because it's from my testing branch so I just renamed to something different from Alpha. I want to know if it boots fine and works.
I have more 5 fixes do do, after them the build will be prety much good for daily usage again (02-08) was.

Yeah, CM13 with Temasek. I'm waiting a long time for it. I used pure CM13 month before. Last night i flashed last build from Taker18 (with full wipe before). For the last hours the phone works fine. Only "Android OS" and "System-UI" eats much more battery as with pure CM13 nightly. I will observe this the next days.

Edit: After 12 hours after full charging 55% battery. WLD says 47% awake.
Edit 2: And after every reboot the time and date (clock) is completly wrong. (hardwareclock different)
Edit 3: No crashes, Phone runs very smooth. :good: But high battery drain suxx. Add some Screenshots. Full charged to 100%. After 4 hours 41% awake, battery 87%. Phone only 3 times used for check/send snap. Red arrow: very often "active" while screen is off.
Edit 4: After Upgrade from 20160603 i have less battery drain. I think it is normal for now.

OrionOS is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of the world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? ). We started this project for Falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom, which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and includes a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. i have already mentioned it on all of my threads & here & they even start a new thread with my solution & couldn't get Dual-SIM to work but to manual-edit the build.prop...

Every rom supportes every model number unless it isnt running on marsmallow firmware.

It boot up but then go directly to the Honor Logo... again and again...

No I downloaded this and clean flashed coming from CM13 but the boot up did take a while, though that is normal for first boot up. This ROM is amazing it's really fast and I love the dark theme. I might try tipsyOS later today I'm torn between this, RR, Slim, CM13 & maybe even tipsyOS. Your work is amazing OP! Thanks
I'm gonna try this ROM and Cardinal tomorrow night. It's time again that I taste AOSP sweetness.

I m using viper from last 3 days & initial thought about this rom is "You can feel venom in vein"lol
Battery backup is excellent .Got 5 hour minimum SOT which i got only on AOGPX in my usage style
Will post review but im confused which thread i sud follow.This one or samucadroid's.

Its very good ROM with excellent battery backup.I moved on other ROM cuz default equilizer wasn't working. Other than I face no issues on viper Rom in 4 day usage.Go ahead its indeed a good ROM.

Well yes I can & I have used many audio mods.I will suggest viper equilizer over Dolby.(viper name is equilizer's too ).But all I found that Dolby and viper just increase volume not quality.I have used custom audio mods too which I sud not discuss cuz its off topic.
Bro Default audio fx equilizer in other ROM is awesome and gives better effects then Dolby.
In this Viper is rom builds no default equliser is working nd i just told abt it nd request to fix it.

Alone Sauran audio mod isvnot noticeble so i dont like Sauran
Try "Real Sound signature" by Genuisishere. His mod are based on DTS ,Harman,&Dirac technologies.Mod is easy to install just flash zip file via TWRP thsts it(Note:ur default Equilizer will not work after it )
I m using his "Q" sound mods nd they all worked great.He recently updated new version "RQIIII" but files are not getting downlod access at the moment .

Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.

Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

Well tell me what made you feel that way? Within 4 days of publication, how can a project be dead? Its sort of asking for ETA, know why? Because asking such question force me to answer how much progress I have made, requested to go through FAQ/Common questions section above, and just DONT ASK silly questions or go for such queries, I will update the thread whenever I will fix the RIL (simcard issue), because without sim, this ROM would be useless right? Every security patches or rom features will be of NO USE! It is you who asked everyone to be patient, well now its time for you, keep the thread clean

I deduce that you did not read my post in which I say it was my way of keeping me informed.
I do not ask ETA, it never happened and it would not be now.
At no point did I ask if the developer had abandoned, because it would not make the slightest sense, since it has very little time.
It was a matter of saying, and how it would be interpreted, when I asked if the project was dead, I wanted to ask if it was stopped, because the topic itself was stopped.:good:
is not a problem of the ril what happens is that the rom leaves imei in nothing
Notice for who are interested in this project:
The next build might take time of 2 weeks, as my exams are running, found why the sim issues are occurring(may release the fixed build soon), as oreo for our device is not stable yet, we might have to wait for a long time to get stable oreo, once I fix the sim, I will look into fixing HAL1 and SElinux issues, nougat is still rock-stable, I will update this ROM surely, till then, I expect your co-operation and patience, cheers!
