Use internationally? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Hello ppl. Parents are traveling internationally, and they want to use their s6 (if possible) with SIM cards. So... if they insert the other country's SIM cards, will it work this way? Or what should they do to be able to use the cards?
I am completely new to this, and don't know anything. Hope on your help, guys.
A complete step-by-step instructions will be helpful.

Yes, it is. They should call Sprint 888-226-7212. Ask for the international unlock.

Thanks

Didn't I answer this exact question like 2 weeks ago???
This exact question from the same exact person, in fact.
huh? well are you guys gonna help me or what lol a week ago i aint have the code now i do so can you guys help or what?
You do not need an international sim card. You do need a sim card from another carrier. When you put the sim card from another carrier in the phone, it will ask you for a code. Enter the code from tmobile. This will unlock your phone.
Currently, your phone will only work with tmobile network. An unlock phone can be use with any GSM carrier. This is useful when you travel internationally. You can buy a prepaid sim card and use your phone to make calls.

[Q] Rooting and SIM unlock?

I'm very new to all this, and my phone won't come in until later this week, but I was hoping to get a few questions out of the way early!
I'm going to England and Germany later this year, and will want to unlock the SIM to use local carriers. Since the phone will not be activated with Verizon (will use PagePlus), I'll have to buy a code.
Should I root first, and then unlock the sim, or vice versa? Does it matter?
Do I understand correctly that the unlock will be permanent, no matter what ROM I flash?
What ROM would be a good first try for a noob with very little android/smartphone experience?
Thanks in advance for any input!
Doesn't matter which order as far as I know. I used the clip and confirm sim works great in Europe.

Probably a dumb and frequently asked question, but can the GSM radio be used to work with American networks?
It's only AT&T and TMobile and I have never had issues with Verizon, I'm just curious about possibility.
Thanks!
I wish someone in my area had a clip.

Visiting UK in Sept - Have my Unlock Code, What SIM card / Service should I get?

I'm really not sure this is the correct place to put this question (Mods, please move it if needed) .... as it sort of needs to be where both the UK SG-SIII users as well as T-Mobile SG-SIII users will both see it.
I contacted T-Mobile C'S and got them to email me an Unlock Code so that I could use my phone while in UK visiting my Mum for 2weeks, but when the email came the very first part of the instructions says "you must perform this unlock function with a NON T-Mobile SIM card installed"
Hmmm well since I am still in Florida, I can't do anything ahead of time but I wanted to try and research / find out what my options were when I get over there (flying into Manchester) ahead of time so that I know what I am going to do when I land.
Anyone out there with experience at international travel, multiple SIMs, pay-as-you-go plans etc?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
It's easy to get it unlocked ... just use one of your friends ATT sim cards from their iPhone because s3 requires micro sim. Pop it in turn it on, it will ask for the code, put it in and your good to go. Then just put your sim card back in and your phone is unlocked for any gsm. When you get over seas find a service that has sim cards pop the sim in and your ready to go.

If the phone is sim unlocked, then it should be fine to be used on any carrier. However, not all carrier allow sim unlocked devices to work with their sim cards as the have blocked sim cards. I am not familiar with Verizon, but at first sight it should work flawlessly. :good:
Okay. Thanks
If anyone else comes across this.. The final answer is that it cannot be activated on vzw

[Q] sgh-t999l not recognizing sim

so, i recently bought this phone new in box. opened the box, inserted my sim and it does not recognize it. now i should mention that i use walmart family mobile as my carrier. could that be my problem? i'm told that t-mobile phones work since there a branch of t-mobile but so far no luck. im going from a captivate to this phone, so the sim was bigger. i used the template deal and cut it down to the micro sim size which i thought could be my problem but the sim happily works in the captivate. any help with this would be greatly appreciated. i will answer all questions to my greatest abilities and i apologize in advance if im the 18th person to ask this today like other questions

You can not swap SIM cards from one provider to another unless your phone is unlocked..
You need to purchase a T-Mobile SIM card kit...

but this works with other t-mobile phones and i know this because i have done it without an unlock, but those were older older phones like the s1 and s2. does the t999l specifically pick a fight? maybe a quirk of 4.1.2?

I believe in order for this to work on this device, you would need to unlock it..
I'm no expert, but this is my personal experience..
In order for me to test this, I would have to have both devices and YOUR sim card..

well a man can hope right? and from my extensive research i have found that because of the fancy L the only way to unlock this is via a dude on ebay, or a code directly from t-mobile. i doubt t-mobile would do this for a non-contract phone though. it certainly does suck to suck.

"Doesn't recognize it" please explain what exactly what is happening. If it is still asking for a SIM to be inserted, you will need a new SIM, but if it is asking for a Unlock PIN Code or similar, then you will need to unlock the phone to use with a non-TMo provider. Personally, I think that since you cut the SIM and it is not lining up. You should get a new (factory made, not cut) Micro-SIM. Also, I believe that it should work with Simple, Straight Talk and Walmart Family on any TMo phone.
