Screen Capture - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Home and power buttin don't do screen captures anymore. What app did I diable to stop it from working?

1. Take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 using a keyboard shortcut
To take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 press the home button and the power button of the smartphone simultaneously. This key-combination must be pressed for about 1-2 seconds. Then you will see a flashing white frame around the screen and hear a click-sound that indicates the screenshot was taken. This information is also shared with you in the status bar of your smartphone.
The key combination for taking a screenshot with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 requires a little training and a little practice, but is the most used method. Especially if you have changed from a non-Samsung smartphone to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
2. Take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 by swiping the screen
The screenshot can be triggered on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 by swiping the screen. This gesture must however be enabled in Android. To enable the feature on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, you must navigate to the settings of your smartphone. In the settings, please tap "Motions and gestures" and then on "Palm swipe to capture". Activate the function by activating the controller.
You can now immediately take screenshots on your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 by wiping with the edge of the hand from right to left across the screen or vice versa .

I wasn't holding it long enough. Thanks

[Q] Make virtual buttons to show when s-pen is deattached?

Is there a way to make the note 2 to show virtual buttons when the s-pen is de-attached?
I hate using the pen and then if I want to go to home or just back on the app, I need to use my finger to do those things...
What you need to do is press and hold the button on the s-pen and draw a triangle like this < to go back and a triangle like this ^ to simulate the menu button
Use button savior app from play store

[Q] galaxy tab 3 8.0 home button sounds

Hi, I have a tab 3 8.0. Since I've opened the box, the home button makes different sounds when pushed at different angles. When I push the home button directly on the center of it, it makes a clicking sound after being pushed some times are louder than other times. When pushed from the sides of the button it is a soft sound. Anybody else notice?? Am I crazy? lol :silly:
Just want to know what other people think or how their tab reacts to being pushed. I've seen a few post found on google but most that i saw were about cleaning the button.

I have the T-315 and the home button is silent when pushed from any angle.
good luck
Thanks. I have the 310. I've got a few friends that have note, s3 and s4. The note always makes a different sound whenever its pushed and the s3 and s4 have similar sounds to the note and sometimes does the same as my tablet.
Buuut... In saying all that it doesn't help fix the button so I will have to bring it back and see what the store says. I already returned one tab 3 due to the bottom right corner of the tab being scratched/dented right out of the box.

[Q] App: Soft power button on edge/ticker screen ?

I've had an opportunity to play with a display model of the Note Edge recently and ultimately decided to buy one. It'll arrive on Tuesday.
The one thing that I really disliked (coming from a Note2) - is the awkward placement of the Note Edge's power button. So I was wondering if there'd be a way to add a soft power button to the edge/ticker screen -
I found a couple of options to play with which I've linked below.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.kixx.tool.offwidget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.suriv.suscreen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.android.smartscreenonlite
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/wakeup-turns-on-your-screen-without-the-power-button/
That mostly addresses the 'off' part but 'on' looks relegated to being triggered by motion or the proximity sensor (because why would you want a 'screen on' app/button on any other phone - because the screen is... off).
I didn't play extensively with the Edge but if the edge/ticker screen is always on (or in a stand-by clock mode) then can someone make something that detects a swipe down and wakes the main screen? Or swipes to a shortcut that wakes the main screen?

Hey! Glad you decided to join us edge users! About your question I'm personally using screen off and lock. I've had no problems and its working beautifully. Got it on my list of apps on the edge and even with the edge on just using it to control my music i click the button for it to turn off the screen and it does just that. It has some nice features as far as animations which i like. As far as the other apps I haven't tried them yet. Hope this helps. Have a good day
easy to do, already sorta included..... with screen off swipe up/down(one motion, do not lift finger between) on the edge screen the edge clock will activate, then swipe from right to left to pull up the app shortcuts cocktail, tap any app in the list and it will wake the main screen and app will be launched and waiting behind lock screen

Oh, sweet. Thanks for this! I kept accidentally activating that and couldn't figure out what I was doing. Heh. I love this phone, I keep finding new things.
The easiest way around the poor power button placement is just to buy the official case so it turns on and off when you open and close the case. It really should of just came with the phone. They belong together. I bought it. It really is like a piece of the phone.

I use greenify. I long press the home button and it hibernates and turns off the screen. I've found it so much nicer than trying to mess with the power button location.

Screen off and lock has this capability add well.
I don't mind having the power button on top, it's the switched back button and last used buttons I still can't get used to. Oh and I don't like how the home key doesn't respond to the pen without press, fail.
Lately I've set GMD gesture control to double tap for screen off. Just have to blacklist a few apps (like calculator) and keyboard where a rapid set of taps will shut screen off when you are trying to do something else. Would be nice if there was a double tap to turn screen on! Some phones can do this. But, for now, I'm fine with just pressing home button for that.

need advice

Hi guys i want to buy note 10 pro. But before buying i need to know something.... i am presently using note 8. There are few things which i really like in note 8 but are missing in note 10. First there is no seperate bixby key. It is incorporated in power button which i read can can be customized. There are 2 options available. Single press to launch an app like bixby and press and hold for power off menu. In note 8 bixby button can be remapped like single press to open bixby, double press to open bixby home and press and hold for bixby voice. But in note 10 there is only double press option. So is there any way to add single press option in side key customization menu ?????
2nd is related to samsung health app. In note 8 there is heart rate sensor but not in note 10 so does samsung health app on note 10 miss features like heart rate and sp02 monitor or these features are there and use camara flash ????
Pls answer me so that i can plan to buy note 10 or note 9
Regarding side button. You can customize double press (open camera, open Bixby or open an app of your choice). You can also choose out of 2 options for press and hold (activate Bixby or open the switch-off menu).
The Note 10 plus does not have heart rate sensor, nor a SpO2 sensor. Health app can receive these data from a connected wearable like smartwatch. No wearable, no heart rate in Health. Flash is just flash.
I have a note10+, before I had a 8, the only things I miss so far, from the 8 are the notif led and the 3.5 mm jack, so, for me, the 10+ is a huge improvement over the 8

Screen Capture does not work with the power and volume down buttons

I don't know if there is that have changed for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra but I am not able to capture the screen of my mobile phone. If I hold the power button it goes to the power off screen (as I have configure the side keays). But if I hold power + volume down buttons, it goes the same way (power off screen). The volume down button works properly using it alone. Is there any change on the Note 20 Ultra to capture screen by buttons? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year all
I've just used volume - with power and screen captured with no issues on latest ui3 official Three UK
Eddie
Thanks for your help! I found my mistake in other forum. I just post it, just in case it happend to anyone else. I tried to hold both buttons, power + volume down. But I shouldn't hold them, just push then quickly. That didn't happen that way in my old S10
Happy New Year!
There is another option that my better half like to use to take screenshots. You can use your palm and swipe from the left edge to the right edge.
Its the option in Settings -> Advance Features - > Motion and gestures -> Palm swipe to capture
Thank you. I just registered for saying this.
I was trying to get a screenshot with my new Samsung Galaxy M23 for quite some time, with no avail.
Just clicking and letting go, not continuing to press solved it.
