Hi I am hoping I can find some answers here .
I flashed twrp to my s tab using odin and had no problems flashing it to the device.
After flashing I tried to enter recovery mode with vol up, home and power keys, I instead get brought back into download mode with an error of "could not do normal boot".
This is a Japanese docomo tablet and Im not sure if its the bootloader that is locked. I have tried other things such as CF Autoroot, Nexus root kit etc to unlock the bootloader with no success. Ping pong doesnt work as my rom is not supported. Ive been trying for 2 days to get both my S6 and my tablet unlocked and tring to get rid of the bloatware on these devices.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Which twrp did you flash?
I suggest you download the stock rom for your model.
At least you can get into download mode and recover.

I used the latest one from the twrp website klimtwifi. I then also tried your one in your thread but no luck.
I have been trying to get the stock rom and cant find it anywhere.
I have a docomo carrier branded device. I have a spare untouched tab here and wanted to backup the stock rom and flash it back to the one with problems.
Is there a tut I can get a link to that can show me how to do it without being rooted?

Thanks for the info, managed to flash back and get into recovery.
If the bootloader is locked is there any chance of root or twrp at all?

Root yes, custom recovery no. Are you sure you are bootloader locked?
What is your exact model version?
You can use Samsung phone info from the play store.

The model version is SC-03G
Product code: SM-T707DTSEDCM
Bootloader : SC033GOMU1ANKD
Kernel: 3.4.0-3402897
Build date : TUE NOV 25 22:29.39 KST 2014
Also says "root existence: Yes"
Dont know what the last part means. Im guessing it means I can root the phone and get rid of carrier bloat?
I also have an S6 Hoping I can root/custom recover too
Root existence means your tablet is already rooted!
I'd double check by downloading root validator from play.
Is this a wifi only model as it's unusual for wifi models to have locked bootloaders?

I rooted the SC 03G by link of @Tetsuri: http://wiki.tesuri.org/Android-SC03G-root
But after installed Xposed and edited something my TabS was bootloob =.=
Does anyone have stock firmware of SC 03G T707D (Docomo)??? I searched on Sammobile but does not have for T707D , just T707V only.
any solutions?

There are only two firmwares listed here : http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SC-03G
I checked that link and it seems to be for the SC03GOMU1AOC2 version.
Im running the SC03GOMU1ANKD version. Do you know if this will work?

That worked and given me root permissions now. knox is now tripped though.
Any apps or things I can be pointed at to allow me to remove bloat.
Also I wanted to know about firmware updates.
How will I be affected by installing OTA updates? There is an update in the system which auto downloaded and I still have the notification for it.
System app remover and titanium backup for bloat.
If you already have the ota then it may still install.
If not you can install it via odin.
May be we won't update new firmware by OTA after rooted. i checked by myself. Anyway do you know when we have Lollipop for TabS T707D, because T707V (Verizon) already have 5.0.1.
Thanks for the link @tegstar83 thought I searched on Bing found it, google have no clue ^^'
Any one know about docomo phonebook? It runs under com.android.contacts is it ok to delete/ uninstall that app?

[KitKat OTA update but SG4 Rooted] trying to enable OTA with "TriangleAway" method
Hello everyone,
I'm posting today because I need some help like many others .
Here is my situation I bought a SG4 mini a year ago the GT-I9195 version (Europe France to be more accurate).
I rooted it because I needed to using the XDA method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980
I did not change the ROM so I'm technically still on the official 4.2.2 rom : JDQ39.I9195XXUAMG8 (see attachment "1.png")
I did however install the "CWM-Based Recovery v6.0.3.7 " boot system to have advanced boot features.
The OTA Kit Kat is now available in my country, I was hoping to do it using the OTA update directly from the phone, unfortunatly I receive the error message "your device has been modified software updates are not available" (see attachment "2.png").
My goal is to update to android Kit-Kat without having to re-format completely my phone to factory settings, and just trick the phone to make it think it's not "modified".
After doing some research I found an application that does this "Triangle Away : " http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/2014-01-15-triangleaway-v3-26-t1494114
So after running it I discovered that the status of my phone was "Binary = Custom" and "System=Modified" (see attachment "3.png")
So I managed to reset the status of Binary and System to "Official" using triangle away (see attachment "4.png").
But when I try to do the OTA update I still get the "your device has been modified software updates are not available" message .
And when I go into phone status the "Device Status" phone says it's "Custom" even-though it says official in the triangle away app" (see attachment "5.png")
Can someone please help me figure this out ?
Thank you XDADEV and all the members for this great community, that has helped me so many times over the years !
Frem
TriangleAway is not supporting our device.
But anyway: I would suggest either updating with Kies or with Odin (if the Kitkat Firmware for your CSC is available at Sammobile.com).
Sent from my black pearl using Tapatalk
But this imply that I will need to format the system completely
No, you don't!
You only need to root it again afterwards (with Towelroot - in case it still works - or using other methods like the Rootkit).
Thank you for that info i'm going to try it this afternoon.
I'm downloading the lastest firmware right now (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=35387 ), is there any tutorial around for upgrading using Kies ?
The downloaded firmware has to be flashed with Odin. Upgrading firmware with Kies is very straightforward: install Kies, connect your phone via USB, Kies will check for updates, ...

I tried with Kies unfortunately, Kies doesn't find the new update which is strange, it tells me I already have the last firmware 4.2.2 which is from last year (see attachment).
I will use Odin, I just hope it won't erase all my apps, homescreen, app settings ...

Yes I actually have it installed on my phone as root, but I only used it once because I needed to restore some backup for angry birds.
Lol I forgot about it I guess I can use it to backup and restore everything I never use it like that before.
Thank you for the tip I'll look how to backup everything first and restore it after.
But I'll need to be root to restore after I guess ?
I don't have the "pro version"

Yes your phone has to be rootet to restore your backups, but it's really worth it to buy the pro version.
If you're updating to KitKat, you will loose everything with Odin.
I suggest that you backup everything with TB and after upgrading, do not restore everything! You will have errors because upgrading from JB to KK. So, you should install everything as it was from Google Play, then restore the data of the app to avoid problems.
Good Luck!
Press THANKS if I helped!

There's isn't much of a 'visible' upgrade from JB to KK, but there are 'behind the scenes' updates, which are very good.

I use the one attached. Been using it for more than a year.
Open it, press PDA, and insert the .tar.md5 file you downloaded. Be sure your phone is read and is in Download Mode and start. It will take 9:30mins to complete the process (sometimes more, sometimes less) and some more minutes to completely boot up.
Good Luck.

Hi
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a UK orange mobile galaxy NOTE 2 LTE N7105.
I want to root it, but use a stock ROM for now.
When I looked for the CF autoroot download files, I found a problem.
My build number is KOT49H.N7100XXUFNI1 , which seems to be for a N7100. I think this maybe because it got an OTA update while i was in India.
Now my questions are -
1. Which CF auto root file should I use the one that matches my actual device or the build number itself?
CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip
for the N7100 but matches my build number
or
CF-Auto-Root-t0lte-t0ltexx-gtn7105.zip
for N7105(my phone) but does not match my build number
2. If I don't unlock the bootloader(i asume it is locked as I have not tried to unlock it) , will it wipe my data? and if so, how do I unlock my bootloader in the simplest way first?
Thanks
N710x don't have locked bbotloader.
As your device has got that OTA and seems to work for you, I am convinced you have an N7100, otherwise you would have lost wifi and ability to make calls because of wrong baseband.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.
I am not experienced with any of this. I am not sure if the bootloader is locked. I was asking just because on the CF website it mentioned this. This is not related the the first query I amde about the build number discrepancy.
I got the OTA when in India - I am not sure if this makes a difference. My device as the LTE sign on the back of the casing. And my phone has a 4g connect mode in the mobile networks tab in settings.
In the "about device" section it states my model as GT-N7105. And it states the 7105 model on the box I received from orange.
My baseband version is N7105BVUFNE1 and the SE for android status - enforcing SEPF_GT-N7105_4.4.2_0040.
Any thoughts?
OK, now it is clear that you have LTE N7105.
I suggest to flash stock firmware for your region from HERE through Odin and then TWRP from HERE.
I suppose you are going to flash a custom rom so no need to root your device.

What is TWRP?
I assume that the firmware I must pick is for a N7105?
I wanted to root but use a stock ROM - I was mainly worried about custom ROMS not having updates for security related issues as I use banking apps. Is it safer to root and use a stock ROM?

I have linked to N7105 firmware in my last post.
Forget about TWRP and go for CF-autoroot for your LTE device after firmware flash.
Custom roms aren't unsafe but you got to find out yourself and it is your decicion where to go :good:

Sorry - not sure if I am being dumb here.
But...
On the Sammobile website link you posted the firmware for my device is correct.
"United Kingdom (EE) 4.4.2 N7105XXUFNI2 " This is what shows in my device information.
But on the ChainFire page this build number does not correspond to the LTE version N7105 cfautoroot file.
See the details from the table on the chain fire website please.
"GT-N7100 t03gxx t03g smdk4x12 exynos4 KOT49H.N7100XXUFNI1 4.4.2"
"GT-N7105 t0ltexx t0lte smdk4x12 exynos4 KOT49H.N7105XXUFNH1 4.4.2"
So, if my build number is N7100XXUFNI1 but my phone is the LTE version - which cfautoroot file must I flash?

If it wasn't complete it wouldn't pass the md5 check in Odin.
I always use FDM (Free download manager) to download and have never had an issue.
You need to use Internet Explorer and click through the links as normal (no right clicking) for FDM to pick it up.

here is a screen shot of the error in odin
The firmware is fine it passes the md5 hash check.
The problem is either the wrong firmware or your bootloader is locked or doesn't allow downgrades.
As a hunch I'd say the wrong firmware for your device, try a t705 firmware instead if t705w.

Depends on what SuperSU you're using with TWRP. I recommend this root method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-j2-t3616589
Using all the files listed in this method. I got the same exact error you had a while back when I used a different file of SuperSU, but the one included in this tutorial has given me no problems.
Remember, flash to stock first (doesn't matter the build)

Hi, sorry about my english, not a native speaker.
Di you know if it's possible to flash verizon ROM to my T-Mobile Note 4 ?
What I want it's use 900 Mhz frequency that my carrier use for UMTS (Cuba), and Verizon seems to enable that frequency band.
Tried to do so, with pit file from verizon and N910VVRU2CQL1_N910VVZW2CQL1_N910VVRU2CQL1_HOME.tar.
got SECURE CHECK FAIL: PIT
any ideas ? help ?

Try downloading from sammobile.com
You'll have to register but it's a free download directly from samsung.

I tried it too and it didn't work, I dont think you can flash whole Verizon stock firmware using odin to 910t, what you gotta do first install twrp once you get that done then flash Verizon ROM, if you could and see if that fixes your issues
if you are just looking to install baseband, modem etc then try this first to install this Partial Verizon stock firmware using odin
N910VVRU2CQL1_PartialFirmware_DevEd.tar.md5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=28233
this will update those if you can install these to your 910t then you should be fine?
also in one post you said you have 910V phone and you want 910T rom and now you are saying you got 910T phone and want to run 910V stock?? which of which you have??

Since you have Verizon note 4 you have to unlock the bootloader first using this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...t/howto-bootloader-unlock-upgrade-to-t3398144
once you do that then you can install the TWRP, once you install TWRP then you can load that rom which I sent you earlier without any issues, but as I said follow that guide and unlock your bootloader and then go from there, if you can't do that then there is no other way you can do it

You have to use kingoroot PC or kingoroot apk with working sim so you can enabled data to work for internet, just follow that guide thats the only way to do it, its not easy it took me one month of looking around and getting info once you do it then it become easier
