So i have a Rogers i747M unlocked and im using it on AT&T. I know the LTE bands are the same but I can't get the LTE to work on it. Is it even possible ? I can't change the "APN Type" on the i747M like the AT&T version can. Do i need a real AT&T micro sim ? Do i need to flash the modem (already know that it might kill the imei if i flash a AT&T modem onto it) ? Do i need a real Smartphone data plan ?
If anyone has got the i747M LTE working on AT&T please post your setup, apn settings, sim card, and any other things you did to get LTE working.
Thanks!

All you should have to do is ADD the AT&T APN and YES you'll need the LTE plan, no more flying under the radar with $10 per month data

i cant add the exact apn settings, the "apn type" field is only a 3 button choice on the i747M, whereas the i747 (AT&T version) has a text box the for "APN Type" that you can type anything in.
ive also tried another AT&T micro sim from another active i747 in my canadian S3, and still no LTE ....
i didnt dare try my cut dumbphone sim in that S3 though lol....
update SIM

Hi! I had a similar problem, I kept getting HSPA+ only and then I realised my SIM wasn't LTE "ready". I went to a Virgin mobile store (or ATT in your case) and asked for an LTE capable SIM. 5$ later I had 22mbps download and 13mbps Upload speeds
Ok so I was trying to unlock this samsung s 4 mini lte SPH-L520 but it seems like it's the only model of S 4 mini that i can't find an unlock code for, is this phone un-unlockable? and what is the difference between the SPH-L520 and all the other samsun s 4 mini?
Well one rather big difference of the Sprint S4 mini (SPH-L520) versus the international models (GT-I919X) is that it uses CDMA networks rather than GSM. I am not sure if you can use it on GSM networks with a sim card. I do, however, know that the Verizon version (SCH-I435) which is also CDMA can be unlocked and used on GSM networks. I used the app RegionLock Away from the play store (and here on xda) to unlock and it worked with an AT&T sim card.
Sent from my SCH-I435 using xda app-developers app
I hope your help

sprint sph-l520 NOT a worldphone
I talked with the Sprint folks.
The Sprint variant has a sim tray that is just for the data sim (UICC card) not a GSM sim. And it is NOT a worldphone.
So even if you put a GSM sim in it, the radio is not looking for GSM towers (only CDMA).
But the Verizon version IS a world phone, which is why "wiisixtyfour" was able to unlock his.
That being said, since Samsung has made several versions that do have this capability, it seems possible that if someone modifies these things it could work:
-Modified sprint radio to receive GSM radio frequencies/signals (maybe copying the Verizon one?)
-Modified PRL to look for GSM towers
-Modified SIM tray communication to recognize not just DATA sims but GSM sims as well
I have no idea how to do any of these. But would love it if someone a lot smarter than me can take a stab at it. :cyclops:

SPH-L520 can run on GSM carrier!
Yes, this is what Sprint told me last summer. But it's incorrect. I have a Sprint S4 mini that works on both Sprint and a TMobile MVNO. Voice, text, data (in refarmed area). Unlocking GSM can be done!

avgtuhm, that's only true if you can explain how it was done and it can be replicated.
What does #0111*NETWORKCODE accomplish?
First off, my apologies if I am in error about GSM functioning on my phone.
I will explain what I've done with my Sprint S4 mini and maybe you/someone can tell what is happening. But this is why I thought GSM was/is working on my phone, until supermaxkato questioned this. (Note: I am not a developer.)
My S4 mini is active with Sprint. If I put a GSM SIM in it, of course it does nothing. Try to make a phone call and I get an automated message that it cannot be completed. But after doing the following, I can make calls, send texts, use mobile data.
I powered on with GSM SIM in phone. Entered #0111*NETWORKCODE for my phone in the dialer and hit call button. After this voice, text, data work. However, phone shows "Invalid SIM" in the notifications and the calls and texts come from my Sprint phone vs. the number associated with my GSM SIM. (I didn't realize this until testing last night.)
So did the code just make it so the SIM tray ignores the GSM SIM and functions on Sprint network? (again.. before entering the codes, no calling/texting/data worked with GSM SIM in the phone)
Same results on 2 activated Galaxy phones. Unsuccessful on non-activated S4 Mini.
I am not tech savvy but if anyone wants me to check something on my phone, I will try to get you the information. (I do not have a rooted/modified phone.)
Again, sorry for my mistaken report of success. In retrospect, I should have known it couldn't be that easy.
(Earlier this year, I WAS told by a developer in Colorado that there has been limited success with Sprint S4 minis being unlocked for GSM both internationally and domestic. And a Sprint rep recently told me that this phone can be unlocked internationally for GSM, although I see that it is not on their list of unlockable phones.)

Hi!
I am new to posting on xda.

Now I have Three UK SIM card that I want use it with my device.
The Sprint network is CDMA and Three is GSM, right?
What can I do for use my tablet with 3G?
I've read in the forum, but I need a solution.
Thanks:fingers-crossed:
Please post the model of the tablet, and the carrier you wish to change it to.
Thanks.
Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 I want to use it three. My sim is three UK thanks
You cant use that tablet on europe at all, no CDMA carriers there, you need the ATT version and pay 19usd to unlock it.
THERE is NO way to get it working, the SIM slot on the sprint tablet is just for Sh1ts N Giggles..

The tablet is CDMA, they have a SIM slot but it DOES NOT WORK.
Greetings.
Ok before this I had think that the tablet was CDMA and gsm capable. Thanks
I am a little confused? Cricket can take your vzw phone and flash it to work on their network. What do they have or know that the devs at xda don't know?

The Verizon Note 4 is SIM unlocked. All it needs to work on Cricket is a Cricket SIM (and possibly adjusted APN settings for data and MMS). There's no flashing of any kind involved.
Um not mine, tried all carriers Sim cards the only one that worked is a old tmobile Sim from germany.

Then either something is wrong with the SIM cards you were using, the settings are off, or your device is defective. The Verizon Note 4 is SIM unlocked. There are plenty of threads on the forum where people talk about using it with AT&T, T-Mobile, and prepaid carriers.

cricket up and running on mine (vzw sm n910v) had to manually enter network apn to enable data , but phone worked upon sim insertion. It registered as an AT&T sim and I received an error message stating it wasn't a Verizon sim card but noone at cricket was needed to receive service.

Not really. I had my note 3 from sorint running on tmobile. But i only had edge and slow service bad voice calling. This phones hardware bands and software bands arent really meant for it. I had to modify the carrier info in my phone to get on tmobile alone. But ince there sorint didnt work anymore. A domestic sim card unlock isnt as easy as with gsm. With gsm the carrier info is practically just in the sim card. But with sprint CDMA it in the phone. Right now sprint sims are just for the lte and spark network. Not the actual use of the phone. So youre kinda out of luck sorry.

Ita bc the hardware is not made for it. The frequencies arent right. If you go to sprinta website the only phones they have that they can domestically unlock for any gsm are the iphones.
