Review of Performance & Changes in Android L Update - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey guys!
When the Android L Update for the T-Mobile Galaxy S4 is released, I will be creating a review video of the performance change and added features or removed features in the update on Youtube... I will post a link here...
Don't have a date on which it will be available either...

Sooooooo.....the point of this thread isssss?

I had thought there was to be no L update for the T-Mobile S4.

I don't expect it either.

Yeah, I think 4.4.4 is the best for our phone anyways. Heard lollipops baterry usage is bad. All those gimmicks eat away at your battery. 4.4.4 battery performance is the beez kneez.

Man, this is worse than all those stupid "First!" comments.
You're preemptively creating a post for an update that isn't going to happen.

Grats on developing your first app, but I think you need some better ideas. Good luck.

Should I upgrade to S4 or not?

I have the S3, and S4's 441 ppi Screen is tempting me, but won't our GS3, have those features through a ROM? So should I upgrade or not?
Probably not. Unless you want Touchwiz running on the latest and greatest android build the GS4 is probably not the best way to go if you already have a GS3. Not to mention all those new features will be gone the minute you flash an aosp ROM. So YES if you want Toichwiz on the latest android version (4.2.2) but NO if you're an aosp guy or if you can handle waiting for the new features to be released on the GS3.

If in fact our tmobile s3 do not have an LTE radio then I myself might switch. I currently have the note 2 as well and I'm not 100% happy with either phones.

hmm feel like not worth to upgrade it
too few improvement
S4 is too much like the note 2.
Only plus for me is the quad core.
Transmitted from my SGH-T999.
I'll be upgrading to an S4, without replacing my existing S3 phone.
Outside the 1080P display, the TV remote and some biometric sensors, I'll have the same phone!
Samsung has already been quoted as releasing the software apps that do not require specific S4 hardware for the S3 and Note II. Look for it later this year.
Well if you're getting it for development don't count on many also Roms as cm team have already mentioned that they are not supporting the gs4. :/

Roms for 10.1?

I was wondering if anyone is cooking up some Roms for this model?
Getting awfully annoyed with touchwiz here... Not to mention the samsung bloated apps.

Just so you know you should not post Q/A threads in the Development section.
Also, if you are annoyed with TouchWiz I would suggest that you return the tablet and buy a Nexus 10.

You can stop using touchwiz easily enough - just pull down a new launcher. won't get rid of the files or guarantee that it's not using resources, but it's start. And you can do a root and remove the crapware...I found this link of bloatware you can remove, but it seems like a giant pain to try and do all that manually. I've started to look at creating a clean rom for the 10.1, but i have no experience so it may be a while before anything appears (if ever).
I noticed the source for the SM-T520 was available on the Samsung open source center, however the binary blobs is probably not available, so hardware axel is not possible... I wish I could buy a new nexus 10 tablet instead.

Note 3 was released forever ago
To the average user..... a toggle, and amazon app. Ahaha
More "advanced" - security updates, bug fixes, runs smoother then 4.4.2, Ive had better battery life, new kernel with a bunch of changes compared to 4.4.2, new modems, etc etc
Definitely better battery life. Also lte seems better and broader than before. Haven't had one RR since upgrading.
