Google did this to prevent theft. Good on them.
I think factory reset will solved the issue
no, this happens because he did a factory reset while the lockscreen is still active. this is a device theft prevention feature by Google, so nothing you could do right now.

nope doesn't work..
heres how to get into system and setting Your on the main screen lg go to accessibility go to switch access go to settings mark key combo overview
Then you have to get close to a internet access that ask for a login...chrome will pop up .. Then you click the combo overview button you pushed .. Then go to dual window select file manager .. Then you have access to files.. If you have apps on a SD you can open them up.. I used tsf shell launche
I've spent hours trying to bypass this on a Nexus 6. It's locked for 3 days, there's nothing you can do until then. Hard reset, flashing stock firmware, nothing works. After 3 days, if you have the gmail account information you can log in and use the phone again. If you don't, you own an expensive paperweight.

wow such a trick, wonder if anyone made a video about this, it would be easier. So do you think if Google update the system will this method work anymore?

Hi I apologise for asking this, I know the answer will be out there somewhere, but I want to restore my phone to how it was when I first bought it.
I'm on a UK o2 locked phone and I've rooted it and removed some of the stock apps. Is it possible to download and restore the original rom since the boot loader is locked and if so how?
Thanks

Thanks, I did look at that thread but I wasn't sure if that was what I needed. Would I be ok with any of the R800i firmwares, and does it matter that my boot loader is locked?
How did you flash it to anything else if your bootloader is locked?

I haven't flashed anything else, just rooted and removed some of the stock apps. So basically I want to do a factory reset but get everything I removed back.
Flashtool allows you to flash signed roms (i.e. sony official updates only) to a locked bootloader.
Otherwise, what Logseman doesn't touch on is a website called www.wotanserver.com
You sign up for a free account, download the client software and the usb drivers, boot your phone into repair mode (hold down the back button when plugging in the usb cable) and it allows you to flash any stock firmware.

One more thing, could I flash the R800i 4.0.2.A.62 version FTF firmware from the Super Compilation thread, or is there a particular o2 branded firmware I can download?

Hi, you can uninstall any don't want using Titanium Backup if your phone is Rooted. I don't think there is a way to do it with a non-Rooted phone., hope this help!
settings --> applications manager --> T-Mobile My Account --> uninstall updates
Once you have done that you go to
settings --> applications manager --> all --> T-Mobile My Account --> Disable

Do you really want to disable the app or just rid of it from the notification bar? If so, just long press it in the notification bar till a little menu pops up saying app info. Click on that and then unmark "Show notifications"

The "turn off" button on my Samsung Savant with Android 4.4.2 just worked
The T-Mobile My Account app on my Samsung Savant with Android 4.4.2 was using more battery than any other app. I pressed the turn off button under "settings", "application manager", accepted the warning message that doing so might break things, and it just worked. T-Mobile My Account has not come back when I restarted my phone. (It is not obvious how to turn the app back on, but I have not looked hard.) I can still connect to the T-Mobile network. My phone's battery life seems considerably longer. Battery use when the phone is idle and in airplane mode with the WiFi radio also turned off is now under 0.5% per hour. I did not root my phone. I can check my data usage by placing a call to #WEB# (#932#) now that the app is no longer displaying that information for me. I am -- so far -- delighted with the results of removing this app. I am not an expert on T-Mobile internals-- so I do not know who should expect to have an experience similar to mine.
I had this app disabled in my note 4 & then needed to re-enable it for a day when my alt choice app had a problem until it was updated, now no matter what I do the disable button is greyed out. not rooted & wasn't when it worked the first time. Suggestions?
If you are rooted, then rename the .apk to something else (like ....apk.bak).
Terminal Emuator + NoBloat Free work best for me coz of the "Backup & Uninstall" option. With that i remove all those bloatware apps especially KNOX Files & still back them up thou u can delete permanently .

This worked for my non-rooted Galaxy S6 Edge running 5.1.1. Download Debloater to your PC. Plug in your device from your PC. Select Filter, and type "com.tmobile.pr.mytmobile," or any derivation of the name (i.e., "my"). Select the file and check the box. Click on Apply. You're all set. It is DISABLED and hidden. I watched the icon in the notification bar disappear as soon as I clicked Apply. It hasn't returned. If you need it later, you can uncheck the box and click Apply. Can you boot in bootloader mode? (Turn off device and then hold power+down key)
Use wugfresh tool kit and you can solve all problems easily. Find the kit in general section!
Just plug in device and select restore nexus and select, nexus is bricked/bootloop
Jus sit back and it would do the rest
THANK YOU

Well, I'm not sure if it is light bleed or some software issue!
Secondly did you have this white flash light before or it just came ?

Well, I am afraid you need to explain in details what exactly is happening.
You can use Google translate to translate in English if you are having troubles expressing it. Make sure you use full form/ standard language of your language or it would not be accurate translation!

Thanks anyways
I thought it was a ESL post as well. Must be texting speak. Sometimes I'll read back an Email to myself and think some prepositions and personal pronouns would really help these sentences LOL
For instance in the above sentence a 'that' before: some prepositions - would improve improve readability.

Hey guys,
Big thanks to @autoprime for mentioning this info on this in the general G4 forum. Figured I'd sum up the steps and repost in our sub-forum for anybody who may be struggling.
If you're like me, you're waiting on root and don't want to accidentally take that new OTA update that was pushed out about a week ago. This OTA has been found to prevent rolling back to previous versions of android, and may also block some/many of the root methods that the developers are preparing to release to us.
If System Update is constantly bugging you to update, follow the directions below:
1) Enable USB Debugging
-Go to About phone and tap on Build number 10 times to enable Dev Options
-Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging
2) Download and Install the Debloater tool (this happens on your computer)
-Windows http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater-setup-v3.85.exe
-OSX http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater.v.3.85.dmg
3) Connect your phone via USB. Make sure to install any drivers needed
4) Watch for pop up requesting ADB Access on your phone
5) Launch the Debloater tool
6) Select OK on the popup

LGDMSClient.apk is all that needs to be blocked? I've read other people saying you need to block like 3 or 4 other things too. I'm not doubting you, just wondering why others are blocking more things.
thanks
thanks too many works

All I can say is this has worked for me as well as others. At the same time, some people required more apks to be disabled. If you want to disable more than the file specified, check the last line in my original post as I've added a link to more items you can disable.

Different carriers seem to have different packages for sneaking the update on to the phones. Blocking one file may be all you need to prevent updates on Verizon phones. It took at least three on AT&T. Possibly four on Sprint. We haven't found all the files to prevent US Cellular from updating yet.
Please post your results so we can prevent forced updates for everyone!
sidebar - it would also be useful to disable DTIgnite as this is a bloatware downloading application installed by the carrier....
nice method! thanks for sharing!
My phone just came today and I don't want to screw this up. Should I block the updates before I even activate the phone, or do I have to activate the phone first?

Most people aren't getting the updates over cellular data, only WiFi. Keep WiFi off and you shouldn't get updates.
On my AT&T phone, I activated it, and then did a factory reset, then finished the setup on cellular data without linking my Google account. I didn't agree to the optional EULAs, and then I blocked the files in this thread.

i had my phone for a week or two before the update came out. About a week after that I disabled the update. (so my phone was activated and I had agreed to that LG agreement). Feel free to start using your phone, just be careful if you get a popup asking to update.
The update downloaded somehow, and it's asking me when I want to install it. Can I factory reset the phone to delete the download?
