Can't Access Google Keyboard Personal Dictionary - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

TL-DR at bottom

I am having an odd issue with the Google Keyboard. Specifically with the Personal Dictionary. When I click any language here, it loads the exact same page again. So I click "English" and it (because I'm not too sure if my terminology is correct) reloads that page. I click "English (For All Languages)" and it reloads the page. The crazy part? When I click back, to get out the settings, it reloads the page again. Weird. I click back again and I leave. So if I click "English" 3 times, I have to click back 3 times. It feels like I'm going into nested pages of the same page.
This sounds to me that it's loading a new page, instead of refreshing it. If it refreshed, I should get out with clicking back once.
Troubleshooting I've done:
Changed ROMs
(Referring to the app): Cleared data, cached, and reinstalled
(Referring to Recovery Mode): Cleared cache and Dalvik cache
Factory Reset
Reflashed ROM (Ugh!! This was the worst. You better be lucky I really like you Google Keyboard)
It's just SO weird. It makes me sad. I would use the Sense keyboard, but it's missing emoji I frequently use.
This is one of them. I love this emoji. It has a red shirt on my phone. LoL!!
I've been using Google Keyboard since Ice Cream Sandwich. I've really gotten used to the height and location of the keys and all. The only reason why I liked the Sense keyboard in the past was because of the ability to calibrate the keyboard. That really helped with my mistypes.
I guess I'm looking for two solutions:
A keyboard that allows me to calibrate it and also has this emoji:
or...
A fix to Google Keyboard
Any help will be nice. Thank you in advance.
TL-DR: I'm not able to modify anything in the Google Keyboard personal dictionary. It just loads another page when I click any language given. I click, English, and it loads the exact same page. Running: HTC One M8 // Sense 7 // Lollipop 5.1 // Custom ROM (Lee Droid) // I've tried multiple ROMs. Any suggestions?
NOTE Calibrating a keyboard, from what HTC meant by it, is when your keyboard learns where you press to reach keys. HTC takes you through the "Quick brown fox..." test and has you type it out. It then learns where exactly you are pressing to reach keys. So when you would normally mistype, it would be the key you were trying to hit.

Touch Keyboard

I'm sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere (And yes I did look), but is there a way to set the touch keyboard to default to the "Touch Keyboard" where each character has its own button? On some screens it appears like that, but on others the "QU", "ER", etc share a key. It's really frustrating.
Thanks in advance!!!!!
try this cab

I didn't make it but codyppc did so give him kudos if you catch him out in cyberworld
This is for the touch keyboard on the touch
Timdawg
Another option
I like what timdawgdentist recommended because I did not know that there was the option available. However, I find the password keyboard a bit difficult to use myself, so I installed PCMKeyboard.

That PCMKeybord is really great. It's taking a while to get used to, but I certainly like it much more than any of the others that I've tried. Thanks!!!!!!!
I personally LOVE TouchPal keyboard, I was a fan with 1.0 and now with 2.0 it is that much better, Twice as better and easier to use. I use SIPChange to make that my default Keyboard. You should try it. You can type so freaking fast with it.

I have hard time text messaging with the native texting program that comes with the HTC Touch (Sprint/Vogue). I can't get the keyboard to disappear so that I can press the send bottom on the bottom of the page.
I like the SPB Fullscreen Keyboard with the black47 theme and PCM Keyboard with iPhone skins.
I tried TouchPal, Touch Keyboard and Keypad.
I prefer the touch keyboard from the least 3 i like.
but I mainly use the Fullscreen now but usually wind up switching around to the PCM. Sometimes predictive is good, sometimes I need to be precise

Touch Pro 2 - Auto Complete? Spell Check?

I recently upgraded from a T-Mobile Wing to the T-Mobile TP2, and for the most part I am really appreciating the improvements in hardware and software.
One thing that is bugging me, though, is that when texting or writing an email on my Wing I would be offered a list of possible words after typing the first few characters. I could select one with the arrow keys, and then press space to accept. This made typing out messages much faster. Also, it would auto-correct certain words - like changing "i' to "I", or "adn" to "and".
I can't seem to find a place to turn these features on in my TP2.
It originally came with WM 6.1, but I have since upgraded with the official WM 6.5.
Any ideas?
Edit:
I should also mention that I am talking about using the hardware keyboard. I am aware that you can bring up the on-screen keyboard, select XT9, and close the on-screen keyboard - and then you will have word completion functionality, but the setting does not seem to be persistent.
Thanks!
It should work, just open up the keyboard in landscape mode and click the same XT9 key. If not go search for a registry change to have it default to that setting.

My point was kind of that I don't want to open the on-screen keyboard and select XT9. It becomes pretty unwieldy to add those steps every time I slide out the keyboard.
I was hoping that someone could point me to an option setting that I hadn't stumbled across.
It seems an odd bit of functionality to have been removed from the OS, so I was hoping that it was there, but not enabled - make sense?
Thanks for the tip, though

On my phone it was saving XT9 as the default for messages, even after a soft reset. I'm running Mighty Mike's 6.5 sense 2.1. Here is a possible solution (post 7):

Thanks,
My phone is not saving XT9 as a default at all. As soon as I open a new message it is back to ABC mode. I checked the setting in the link that you shared, but mine was already turned on. Seems to make no difference to the hardware keyboard.
Thanks again

Customize User Dictionary

Has anyone been able to change or update words in their user dictionary? I use the standard Samsung Keyboard, but I cannot find a setting for user dictionary anywhere. I can goto options for the samsung keyboard, but it will only learn from gmail, facebook, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
PS
The samsung keyboard letters are grayed out in language and input, but I can click on the cog next to it to get to settings.
I tried the Swype, but couldn't figure it out either so I went back to my trusty old SlideIt. Easy customizable dictionary + resize keyboard however you like + move keyboard to left or right side for one-handed typing + many more customizations, including how long you want to longhold a key to get the upper character (min. time is 0.1 sec!). Get the paid version. It's better.

Does it have the numbers separately set above the keyboard? Each of the keyboard I have looked at don't have this feature which keeps me using the stock keyboard.

Numbers are, like on a regular laptop/desktop chiclet keyboard, superscripted on the top row of keys (i.e. the qwerty row). So to access the #1, you longhold 'q'. In settings, you can adjust the longhold duration. Mine is set to 0.1 sec, which is so short a time that it is almost the same as having a dedicated #1 key. It's so quick that as I'm getting used to it, I've unintentionally typed the longhold characters quite a few times.

That's based on the older ICS keyboard. Notice on the note 2 with jellybean keyboard you get a separate set of number keys, allowing them to add even more special characters to the letter keys? Trying to retain that. Think I found a few new ones tho. Thx.
anyone able to edit user dictionary ... or import text file ... right now its learning from facebook and gmail but cannot import it by whatsapp ... software like User Dictionary manager show blank dictionary

Jellybean Calendar colour and keyboard - horrible

I've just updated to 4.1.2, and there's no option I can find to change the colour of the calendar. I hate the light background, I'm used to black background with white text, easier to read. Is there anything out there I can use?
edit: sorry, keyboard isn't horrible, I've found the swype keyboard which is what I'm used to But there doesn't seem to be the single word delete function anymore with the click after deleting any words in a sentence? It just deletes the letters in succession so you can't delete complete words with one click.
edit2: well I can do it in 2 steps. swype key highlights word then backspace key deletes it.
Doing a quick google search gave me this:

I suggest doing a google search yourself as there are several different versions of dark gapps available around the internet.
As for your keyboard, perhaps try out TouchPal Keyboard:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.smartinputv5&hl=en
It's a free app, and it has a slide left on the backspace key to delete a word feature.
Cheers.

Will check them out, thanks.
By the way, I just found a post of the exact same problem I'm trying to solve with word deleting.
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...o-delete-the-entire-word-when-the-delete-butt
The solution given of swiping right to left over the home rows of the keyboard doesn't work. Has anyone else done this with any success? It really seems odd to me that they would have removed the ability to do this.
As far as I know, Swype didn't have a swipe to delete feature...perhaps what the user is talking about is TouchPal? I've never seen another keyboard have this feature, I could be wrong though. Have you tried it out?
I haven't tried touch pal yet but definitely will do.
Tbh, I'm not sure the word deletion function was specific to swype enabled keyboards, it probably did it on non swype enabled too. Although I used swype all the time, I used to just hold the delete button down for a bit longer and it would delete entire words one after the other with a click after each word. So I wasn't swyping to delete but just pressing the delete button, yet sadly that feature seems to have gone now apart from the first and last words. Imo there's a few features in jellybean that are a step backwards from previous android versions.

Dictionary has made up words, how do I delete them?

So I must have at some point added the word "yoy" to my personal dictionary accidentally, and now my phone prefers it over "you." Problem is, long pressing on the word "yoy" on the list of suggested words above the samsung keyboard doesn't give me the option to delete it like many other words have. How do I get random fake words I accidentally added out of my dictionary?
If it matters I'm using the latest verizon OTA, samsung keyboard, with swype. Any other info you need I'm happy to provide. Thanks!
try Long Press on the word when it comes up as a suggestion and then you should be able to delete it as a 'learned word'
OR
You can try "Settings - Language and input"
Select Samsung keyboard
Select Predictive text
You can disable it completely, or disable Personalized data, or maybe Clear personal data and see how that goes.
Horrible answers and a terribly frustrating keyboard. I'd love to burn my phone as a result of the horrible dictionary included. Note to the Samsung team that built this dictionary: go hinge, obviously you have no idea what you're doing.
