Note 3 N9005 with CM12.1 and Lean Kernel bootloop - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hi guys, need some more advise, I've been trying to get lean kernel working with CM12.1 but it just keeps going into a boot loop at the android logo. I'm using the latest nightly cm12.1 rom, and lk_hltecm-v5.1 which appears to be the correct version of the kernel to go with the rom, but its just not having it. I tried Pure_Stock_DevB_Ported_N4_L_TW_V1.1_by_g00h with the touchwiz version of the lean kernel and that worked great, but touchwiz is so slow even when I overclocked the cpu lol, so if anyone has any advice, that would be great

Sorry guys, posted in the wrong forum, can someone delete this please

blue/turquoise screen after installing custom kernels

Ive been using the dark flo version if cm10.2 since I got my nexus 7, however when ive tried to install a custom kernel, I get a blue/turquoise screen upon reboot. Ive tried both CAF and normal versions of various kernels, but all with the same results. I tried using the AOSP kernel setting in the aroma installer, then installed some AOSP kernels, which do boot but it has the worst lag ive ever seen since my iPhone! Anyone else experienced this and know a solution? Ive searched the forum but couldn't find anything relevant
Same here: installed CM10.2 unofficial, GApps, rebooted and everything´s fine.
After installing any of the Faux-Kernels (es/m/u) and wiping Dalvik etc., I have the same screen problems and lags, which make the device unusable.
I´m searching for an overclock kernel, btw.
Thanks for your input!
im after the same thing, just an oc kernel. I even tried one with no mods, just the cpu speeds increased and had no luck
UPDATE - I read somewhere that some kernels wont work with CM versions released after oct 2nd. I tried installing a copy of dark flo from the end of September, then tried faux123's latest mainline kernel abd it booted fine! Im assuming its an incompatibility with the latest CM, so I hope the kernels get updated soon!
Thank you for the info!:good:
It´s waiting time again...
how did you get out of the turquoise screen?
Easy fix:
Uninstall CM
Install AOSP based rom
Profit
Seriously, CM has gone to crap since they moved away from aosp and started with CAF. Kernel devs shouldn't have to do extra work just for one rom, especially when said rom is going from bad to worse

looking for a good kitkat rom for elementalX kernel

Hey xda developers!
So guys i was really taken in by the ElementalX kernel and all the hard work that put into that project. I am in need of a rooted rom that is based on Android Kit Kat (4.4+).
Now i have tried putting the ElementalX kernel on Cyanogenmod 11 (nightly build 4.4.2) on my Nexus 7 2013 32GB wifi only model FLO build KRT16S but the kernel made the ROM for the most part unstable. After flashing the elementalX kernel on CM11 (wiped dalvik/cache) i would get this ugly blue color and blocks on black and pink on my N7 screen and then 3-4 minutes Cyanogenmod 11 would boot up. Now i can tell the kernel took because all of my icons changed color and i checked the kernel in settings
However, after flashing the ElementalX kernel on CM11 it was very very laggy. I have tried for the most part all options...
I tried low settings high settings, and all stock options which all ended in the same result -> laggy.
Okay so if Cyanogenmod 11 is not a good candidate for ElementalX (most likely was my fault but moving on) can one of you great guys or gals please let me know what KitKat based ROM you are using with your ElementalX kernel?
Requirements for ROM:
very simple...
has to be pre-rooted
has to be Kit Kat based
I really appreciate any input or advice you can offer me...
Also what settings are you using for your Nexus 7 with your ElementalX ROM?...
Maybe its just how i am setting up my kernel but i did try almost every option for Cyanogenmod 11 which is why i want to try and start testing other Kit Kat Based Roms.
Thank you all so much for your time and your assistance...

CleanROM is a very good ROM to try before trying any others. It does not have a ton of features, actually very few, but it is fast and stable.
A lot of people run CR with ElementalX. (I do). It's the kernel that the CR dev recommends.
I also like Sinless ROM which has lots more options. But if this is your first custom ROM start with CLeanROM. The people in the CR Thread are very helpful if when you have questions.

[Q] Will someone please be kind enough to help me out here

I have been running PAC man ROM which is fantastic.
However it keeps saying there is a new nightly update, but every time I click on it I get the message Tyler broke something. I am running build 2013913
I am running 4.3 pacman rom. Is there a newer link to go and download for this. If so please post the link. Have they stopped working on 4.3 versions? Is there a 4.4 out yet? My note is the n7105
My second real concern is that my kernel is 3.0.64-cmG64714068

I'd like to know what better kernel is there out there to be running with pacman and if there is one with fast charge?
Also if there is a more recommended kernel out there please tell me how I go about changing it. I Have CWM and am happy and confident enough to install a zip in recovery.
If anyone could help me above with links to the latest Pacman version and also a better KERNAL and instructions how to change kernels.
Also, what's happened with that website root galaxy note 2 dot com. He hasn't updated in months.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to get this note 2 cranking even harder.
Also what's the best performance settings to have this on?
Cheers guy. I've used this place as a bible for years but only just signed up. Answers in full would be greatly appreciated.

I never used PAC MAN ROM so I can't answer to the first... But I have a GT-N7105 and the only two kernels for 4.3+ ROMS that I know about are Agni Kernel and Devil Kernel... Agni Kernel I think it's closer to stock... For me: Better battery and overalll performance/stability. And then you have Devil Kernel. This one it's a bit different.. It alows you to have 2 ROMs in the same phone... Dual Boot. It's more customable I think... In terms of findind the better settings I suggest you to read the thread... I know they're both long... But changing values in kernel can be extremely dangerous... So you should know what you're doing... To installl or change the kernel you usuallly just have to flash it trough recovery and it is highly recommended that you Wipe Cahce AND Dalvic Cache after... On agni kernel you even have a "CleanerTool" but usually you don't need it...

CM 12.1 Nightly

Anyone running the CM 12.1 Nightly builds? It's been running great for me but want to know if there is a way to install Xposed and Agni kernel? I've tried flashing a couple times but not sure if I have the right files since it just boot loops afterwards.

I'm not sure any of those are compatible with cm 12 though if I'm wrong someone please correct me, but agni is based of stock touchwiz kernel with heavy modification or built to run on TW anyway and xposed is for customizing themed roms such as touchwiz and so fourth. Just my understanding but again I said I could be wrong.

I found this Agni kernel for CM and N7100
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231374&nocache=1
And have seen threads of Xposed working with SDK22 that CM12.1 uses but couldn't get anything to flash right. Just want to increase charging rate with kernel and use some Xposed modules with CM 12.1 nighties.
Do you have a N7100 or a T889?
From developer himself....... works on N7100
I have T889 running N7105 CM 12.1 and hoped there might be another kernel that would allow tweaks.
No offense but you can put an orange peel on an apple but it's still an apple. Lol sorry, seriously though I'm not sure if it's a slight hardware difference or if its the T889 bootloader but sure sounds like something isn't compatible

I thought I could use N7105 kernels with T889. I found these AGNI kernels for CM12+ but they won't boot after I flash them with TWRP:

EDIT: I figured out I needed to flash smdk4x12 for Exynos and now it's working! Just have to find a way to get Xposed working

Good deal fella!

Recommend Kernel for CM 12.1

Hi guys, I just recently flashed my phone to CM 12.1 and everything's great except that my battery life got worse.
Is there any other kernel there that can address my problem? How am I supposed to know if the kernel is compatible with CM 12.1? And additional question, does a kernel have to specific for a device or any kernel can be compatible to my phone? I was supposed to install the Project-T, fortunately I researched on it and for some reason I'm not supposed to install it over CM's kernel.
I'm sorry with the noob questions, I'm just new with the Root thingy so yeah  : laugh:
