I've a strange problem:
When I connect my Desire with my PC, my WLAN-Stick stops working (I'm using the D-Link DWA-142). The LED turns off and I'm offline (like if it's disabled in the settings).
When I plug my phone off the Wifi is working again.
This actually happened when I connected my phone in recover mode.
The phone's Wifi works all the time.
Has anyone any idea what I could try to avoid this??!
That's odd. Have you tried updating the drivers for the adapter?

It's probably a power issue - when your phone is connected, it is probably drawing too much current from the USB hub.
I'd suggest buying a powered USB hub.

@foxmeister
cheers, i tried a normal USB port and it works!! I only used the front ports before (head -> wall -.-)
Hello:
I use Nexus One before, and there is a USB host mode driver which enables Nexus One's USB host function, I can connect some USB device to it, it's awesome ^_^
Now I switched to Desire HD, so is there any usb host mode driver for it now??
Thanks very much~~~
I was just thinking if DHD can do this the other day, I would too love to know about this.

Ok, I saw this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=702742&page=1
My question: Can that mod let me connect a USB-VGA adapter to a Desire?

Yeah, USB-VGA adapter will works if usb host mode driver works...
Does this usb host mode driver for Desire also works for Desire HD??

i tried to connect my htc desire z in my laptop but the computer did not recognize my device and i tried in my work pc that is a desktop and it do, later i tried to connect in another laptop and did not connect, and in another desktop and the device culd connect. can anybody help me. what is the diferents between desktop usb and laptops usb. or if is a hadware problem or firmware problem.
You have to install drivers so your desktop or laptop computer knows what your phone is. Otherwise, it has no way of knowing what it is, and just calls it a generic USB device.
Just install HTC Sync. This has the required drivers, and also the computer software to sync your personal data between the phone and your computer (if you desire to do so).

If its just to connect so you can add/remove stuff from your sd card it should be plug and play. But maybe its different in other countries lol

I did google for this problem and found that many users have faced this problem but could not find any finite working solution for this. I'm getting the same error: Bluetooth peripheral device driver not found. Has someone in this community faced this and found a solution to it. It's very frustrating to not being able to connect it to my PC using BT.
I did not have this problem
I am using Windows7 with my Sony Vaio 14p (also supports Bluetooth 4.0) and did not encounter with any problems transferring files from the device to the laptop.
First thing I suggest you to try is a cheap Bluetooth dongle that supports BT 4.0
my Pavillion DV6 connects ok. What type of laptop have u?
I'm having the same issue with my HOX and my Lenovo X220 tablet.
During the drivers install in Win7, a peripheral device driver isnt found. My Desire HD works fine though.
I have the same issue

the same model of computer?
Hi,
Just purchased an HTC One V (Virgin Mobil CDMA) handset. I've never had USB connectivity issues with the HTC Wildfire S or the EVO V 4g, but the HTC One V is invisible to the USB system of the WinXP Pro/SP3 desktop machine.
I've uninstalled drivers, uninstalled HTC Sync, rebooted, cleaned the registry, rebooted, and completed fresh installs of both old and new versions of HTC Sync and drivers. None of that changes the outcome: other two HTC handsets happily communicate via USB to the desktop computer, and the HTC One V ain't having it.
Doesn't matter: PC Connection -> "connect to disk" or "connect to HTC Sync." Neither communicates.
I've snooped all over the web looking for a solution. Following the support page dealing with this topic on HTC.COM did not change the outcome. Suggestions?
And thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. I re-tried that. No change. One V remains invisible to USB...

Try another computer and another cord. Could be your setup.

Did you find a sollution to the problem caz I am facing the same issue with my htc one v
Hello,
Like you, I assumed there was faulty USB connectivity, issues with drivers, etc. Uninstalled/reinstalled USB drivers, etc. Finally, unable to solve the issue, I returned the handset to the retailer and exchanged it for another handset. The replacement handset worked fine.
