Can Windows 10 run on a Note 10.1 P600? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Will we potentially see Windows 10 on an android tablet like the Note 10.1?
Maybe an android/Windows 10 dual booting device.

It depends if the tablet(s) you're referring to has a CPU onto which windows can run on.

No, will never happen on an ARM device. Get a Surface Pro 3, it dual boots Android-x86 perfectly. Yes, native android.

Upgrading RT?

Is it possible to upgrade the Dell XPS 10 which comes with RT to a pro version? If not what is the next best pro tablet for the least amount of money? Thanks!
It impossible because the architecture of CPU was not the same. Windows RT CPU base on ARM but Windows 8 Pro CPU base on x86-64.

Could you put the win8 pro version on the Dell?

[Q]Windows 8 on Samsung GT3 10.1 (P5220)?

Hi all,
It's too early to ask but is there any possibility that the new Samsung GT3 10.1 (P5220) can support Windows 8?:fingers-crossed:
From what i've learnt, it has the Intel Atom Z2560 and Windows 8 supports that chipset, right?
I am looking for an alternative to Sony Tablet S which has either been discontinued or trashed as I am unable to find a vendor anywhere in India selling them.
I am crazy about the IR Blaster feature (both available for the above two devices).:victory:
And if Windows 8 can be installed, that would be VERY great too.:fingers-crossed:
Please share your thoughts.:good:

it is not completely a matter of windows 8 having support for the chip it is a matter of the boot loader and being able to load it theoretically if the tablet was identical to a windows tablet if the boot loader and rom image could be transplanted successfully it might work but i would not hold my breath on that working soon the most likely way you could possibly do it is remote desktop or virtual machine but then again that is not really running it on the hardware.

Hi,
Thanks for the heads up...I guess I will have to be content with Remote Desktop for now
Peace!!

i think now is possible to install android on alcatel idol 4s windows edition.

since unlock bootloader is now possible using Internals 2.2 thanks to 'Heathcliff74' and the alcatel idol 4s android is some what similar with Windows version except Snapdragon chip and more ram and bigger mass storage ,i think it would be easy for developers to port android to alcatel 4s windows edition.
It only affects lumias.

get someone paid first maybe?
android ROM is useless without proper support for drivers and optimizations... in theory you can run android on any WP/WM device but no support. porting is only small part of job... nobody want to loose time and money for "free" support... in reality, if you want android, buy android...

they will do it for free
so technically this is possible as the 6071W has a direct Android counterpart: the TCL 950. They both share identical hardware.
The biggest issue is that the Windows version and the android version are signed with different certificates. As a result, someone needs to bypass signature checks on the 6071W to allow loading of the other firmware.
What might be interesting is if someone gets a TCL 950, roots it, and then installs the OS portions of the 6071W image, they might be able to have a dual-boot device.

[Q] Would it even be possible to port Android 12 to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

Seeing how even the Samsung Galaxy S II has gotten a port of LineageOS 12, I wondered if there's anything that would prevent the Galaxy Nexus from getting it as well.
A developer already told me privately that it would be theoretically possible and that it would probably be better off with Android Go settings, but I wondered if there could be anything else that might prevent it. Because I see little discussion about this phone and I've seen no Custom Roms that go beyond Android 7.1 Nougat.
As a smartphone of the Nexus line, shouldn't it be even easier to support than something like the Galaxy S II?
I just know that it'd be awesome to see newer Android versions on it, just as with several other older phones that already got them.
Are you serious??? There is no way Galaxy Nexus can run Android 12. Even when this phone run on Android 7.1.2 (latest custom rom) it run poor and gets hot quickly, so i don't think anyone will build any custom rom for this device.

I'm just curious whether it is possible or not. The Samsung Galaxy S II seems to be able to do it, even though it's still in an early phase.
"As a smartphone of the Nexus line, shouldn't it be even easier to support than something like the Galaxy S II?"
for ti Omap chipset it isnt really easy to port twrp or lineage 19.0
"A developer already told me privately that it would be theoretically possible and that it would probably be better off with Android Go settings,"
no, you don't bringup and you can't make android 12 for this device. remember TI OMAP processors are close source afaik. and android 7 on this device RUNS VERY POORLY. so it's impossible to port a12 on this device, unless you try to port LOS 15.0 first.

Oreo actually runs way better than Nougat, at least with the holy kernel 3.4.
Can someone port Lineage OS 15.1 for the Galaxy Nexus maguro?
Don't forget, Android 12 (as well as 11, possibly also 10) is 64 bit only.

That's not right, we are running A11, A12 and A13 on many other arm chipsets like the Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S3 and also many others...
Yes, it can be compiled for these chipsets, but will it be compatible with new software?

Yep, everything seems to work fine .
its theoretically possible, the omap 4460 is armv7 and has over a gig of ram, which are the bare minimum system requirements for running android 12.
however, it would be a major undertaking to port the crusty code over to android 12 AND it would run like garbage, unless someone were to try and speed up that code, which would be a whole other story.
if the community had continued like it had on the galaxy s2, this wouldve already happened, but it didnt for likely many reasons.
im guessing one of those is the lack of mainline linux support, which is because of the SGX540 in this phone.

Please prepare for making a OneUI 6.0 ROM for the S20 Ultra when the version will be released...

I'll tell you a
Spoiler: Secret?
I'm only 10 so I can't buy a new phone, but I rooted my phone, Installed an Android 10 ROM on an LG G3 with Android 5, Dual-booted my Windows with Ubuntu on my PC and laptop, Installed checkra1n jailbreak on my old iPhone, and almost succeeded installing macOS on my laptop by using Hackintosh. So please port the S21's OneUI 6.0 to the S20 when OneUI 6.0 will be released.
I have s20+ and S20 ultra, i want OneUI 6.0 too but this is not possible for both of us.

It is if someone ports the S21's firmware to an S20's ROM.
Starting with Galaxy S1, i flashed many Roms, I did not see any benefit. There will be no difference between OneIU 5 or 6 or 4.

Im sorry, youre 10 and you have an S20 ultra? At 10 i had an 80 euro phone and i wasnt complaining about features. They probably will release a port , so just be patient until one ui 6 even comes out and then wait a little more for someone to port it. It doesnt take a snap to port a rom. I waited 5 months for one ui 5 on my alt S10e. btw you sound similar to 10 yr old me , i was doing the same things to my moms old laptop haha

If nobody ports it, make sure to do it yourself because I also have an S20 Plus. If it doesn't work, maybe someone can build an AOSP-based ROM for S20+. The sources and builds are available publicly. Any developer with the device should be able to do so. One UI has become boring
