I have a rooted H811 and I am using a dark theme. I would like to use the dark gray folders but the fonts are yellow. There is no option to change the font color. Most of the other folder colors are using white or black fonts. How can I change it so that the dark gray folders us a white font? I have looked at other folder apps but would prefer to stick with the stock folders if possible. I have searched but don't see where this question has come up.
Wrong section, but I am interested too.

I figured that a Themer would know how to change a font color.
Post your LGHome.apk please. The color is defined here in values/colors, line 59 (folder_text_color_11).

hmmm, I have had Root Explorer looking for it for quite a while. It is still searching. Any idea where this file resides?
Okay, I found it and will send you a pm with a link to where you can download the file. Thanks
https://www.dropbox.com/s/egd4nrwlss40yxd/LGHome.apk?dl=0
Try it please.
That worked. Thank you very much.
Edit: For others wanting to use the modified apk file supplied by @Kickoff, the apk file doesn't install. You just copy it over the original which resides in the /system/priv-app/LGHome folder.

The right path should be without chrome (LGHome folder within priv-app folder), or is this different on H811?

I'm looking for the status bar icons that come with vanilla Gingerbread. Like the ones in CM.
Also, would like to know where I should copy them to.
I tried looking inside the CM7 zip, but couldn't find anything that looked familiar.
Anyone knows if it can be extracted somehow from the CM7 ROM and be used with the stock rom?
Yes, theyre in system/systemui.apk
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Thanks! Found it. It's actually: system/app/systemui.apk
The folder structure is obviously different from the stock rom. Anyone have an idea how I replace the existing icons?
Use 7zip to open the apk and replace them in system/res folder i think it is
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
There is no res folder inside "system". There's a res folder in the root, but there's only one file called "encryption"

Is it in framework/res?

The one he wants its in systemui.. Look in the res/hdpi or so folder
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
I've found it. I tried modifying the stock SystemUI.apk by replacing the icons in it with the ones from the CM7 rom. I then replaced the original SystemUI.apk with the modified one using Root Explorer, but by doing it the SystemUI process force closed leaving me with no status bar. It remained without status bar even after reboot.
So I guess this is not as easy as it seemed to be. I don't want to mess around with the root folder anymore, so if anyone has a flashable zip that can replace the status bar with AOSP icons I would greatly appreciate it!
Really easy to do, next time change the permissions then you wont get FC but if you have the odex version of the update heres the link to get the icons. Its by mikeyinid towards the bottom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20377172

Without having to download THIS messaging app? The messaging app in my ROM has direct call and a couple of other goodies that I really like... just the colors are very boring and plain! Any help is very much appreciated, thanks.
The standard way of theming is open the mms. Apk in a zip viewer. Either win rar or 7 zip, then find the area that holds folders named draw able hdpi. Extract ONLY THE ICONS AND IMAGES You want to change. Font extract the whole apk. Then, open the images in photo shop or any editing program, change the colors as you please, save, (DONT CHANGE IMAGE NAME OR TYPE), then drop them back into the apk in the folder you found them and save changes to the zip. Once that's does, go into system/app, rename the end of the name .Bak. So apkname.Apk.bak
Then just copy and paste it into system app and then give it correct permissions if it doesn't already and then reboot

Try using gosms or handcent. I believe they have theming capabilities.
All Battery results are on a 6300mah battery, unless otherwise noted!

I used Handcent since my EVO 3D days but I really like the 4.2.2 Messaging app.... I just hate that I can't theme it. No need for a 3rd party messaging app... I can live with the plain colors, I'd just rather be able to theme it if possible!!
Then if Reapers response is too complicated the answer to your question is then No. There's no other way to do it.

Why wouldn't you just download that app? It makes it a lot easier on you to theme the stuff the way you want. :what:

I'm honestly thinking about just doing that hahaa.
Can someone help me or point me in the right direction for editing a theme? I want the Cobalt theme to have transparent status bar, transparent system backgrounds(dialer, settings...etc) just like the HoloGlass Beta but with all the nice stuff from Cobalt(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dustinb.theme.cobalt) (HoloGlass https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mix3d.theme.hologlass.beta)
I'm still trying to figure this out, I've decompiled both themes, copied like 50 images from cobalt(signal, wifi...etc) to hologlass overwriting the originals, edited preview and changed the default wallpaper then recompiled, signed it, installed but the only thing that I can tell is different is the default wallpaper, everything else is the same, the preview didn't even work, just shows a red X....I don't understand.
If it's a system app you don't want to sign it. You need to preserve the original signatures if I remember correctly. Utilities like apk multi tool can do this for you when it's time to recompile. Could that be the problem?

I didn't know a theme was a system app?
Well I was wrong, It mostly worked, most things changed except WiFi and signal bars(Which was one of the main features I wanted from cobalt) Maybe it would be easier just to take the transparent stuff from holo glass and put it into cobalt? Idk but I still need help with this...

It depends on what you're theming. I'm just guessing but the status bar is probably in the SystemUI.apk or SecLauncher2.apk. so to theme it would require modding the correct system app.

Is it possible to change the color of the icons in the contact list? The green is killing my b/w theme & I would like to change them to white.

Yes, it is possible
Probably inside framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, or SecPhone.apk

I looked in SecContacts.apk.
Found, inside the drawable-sw359dpi-xhdpi folder, the icon that appears to match the one in the screenshot.
"ic_call.png"
There's a few others with the exact same icon in that folder and I have no idea which one Samsung's call log/contacts pulls from so I'd just change them all. (I hate how many redundant images exist in the Touchwiz Framework.)

You would need to pull the stock messaging.APK to your pc via ADB and then modify the RES/XML values yourself, then repack as an APK....
