On my ATT h810 I deleted a Com.LGe...something apk that I found while searching "messaging" in TB. I assumed it was the messaging back up from ATT, now I can't seem to receive MMS. I checked my APN's and those are fine. Tried a restart as well. Just wonder if anyone can pull theres....

Ok, so been on Cyanogen 6.1 for a day now and I am getting duplicate MMS's. The texts are fine, but every pic and slideshow I have downloaded has ended up duplicated.
Am I missing something? Haven't found this issue through google yet.
Wondering now if duplicates from other people is same issue as other one which is I cannot send. Could they both be something to do with corrupt telephony.db?
So you can't send, or getting duplicate mms messages?

Both...get doubles of mms people send and I cannot send mms at all. It says it is making an mms...but send does nothing.

When sending an mms, do you have your 3G on?
Yes, 3G is always on. I never turn that off.
Update though, I just loaded Handcent to see what would happen. Even Handcent cannot do MMS's...this seems to be a phone issue then? (Unless there are some requirements to sending mms on handcent I didn't complete.)
Ok, I have adb'd into the folder where telephony.db lives and deleted it. Now Handcent will send mms but regular text program will not send.
Ok, mms is is working now but my shotgun approach doesn't leave me confident in what actually fixed it.
I tried one solution I found online...delete the telephony.db file. This did nothing for sms/mms. In same folder I found a mmssms.db file and when I renamed that it deleted all my txt history. BUt that didn't solve the issue either.
The next thing I was going to attempt was to clear messaging cache from the manage applications. Instead I clicked on Clear Data.
That is when the messaging app changed. The background had been white, but I never set that, now it is black and all mms and sms since that point have worked fine.
Since I still had an old copy of my mmssms.db I just restored that and I had all my previous txts back.
Not sure if this will help anyone in future...but there is my post effort debrief. :^)
how do i setup my mms
i would like to have cyanogen 7 but i have a cricket flashed evo 4g and dont know how to get my mms to work.....does anyone know?
Changing the MMS server setting on Sense is pretty easy and straight forward but I've yet to figure out how to get it working on AOSP.
I've searched everywhere and tried every setting available and I still can only receive pictures but not send them. I've tried editing the APN's through the voice command, I've tried apps from the market and no matter what settings I try, I can't send a MMS message.
Has anyone been able to figure out how to do this without using a 3rd part SMS app?
people have claimed to of been able to get it working with apn restoring but I've only been able to get it working with go messenger
they claimed if you backed up the apn settings in a Sense ROM and restored that same backup in an AOSP ROM the default messanging client would work with mms, I never got it to work.
Hey guys,
I need a little bit of help. My wife's phone is unable to retrieve MMS messages from Handcent or GoSMS. My LGOG works just fine and we're in the same room so I know it's not a signal/reception issue. I did some googling around and did update my PRL and also enter in the APN information into GoSMS. However in Handcent or GoSMS, if you click the download button, it just spins and spins and doesn't do anything. What is weird is that if I go to the stock messenger app and press the download button, it will download. I checked the settings in the stock messenger and it is set to auto-retrieve MMS messages. Once the MMS is downloaded in the stock app, than Handcent and GoSMS will see the image. I think if I can figure out why the stock app isn't automatically retrieving the MMS like it should be, that might solve our issue. I've tried to toggle the auto-retrieve option on and off several times and countless reboots. Cleared the cache.....I can't find anything else in the forums or on google and I'm not sure what else to try. Her phone is unrooted and we'd like to keep it that way.....any suggestions?
Sorry, forgot to mention, this fails regardless if we're on wifi, 4g, or 3g...
So ive been using ignorance on cdma for a while now and its great! The only problem ive noticed is mms not working properly. At first, I used hangouts and although i receieved mms, they never downloaded. I tried using the stock, textra, and hello, and it still didnt send properly. The mms i received through hangouts wouldnt even show up in other messaging apps. I tried to change the APN in textra because i cant access it through system settings and it still wont work. Any ideas?
My text messaging started acting weird lately; all of a sudden I was getting late messages, or multiples of one message. And then I wasn't getting any texts at all. This was while I was on Definitive rom, and had not changed any settings or my messaging app (chomp) for a good month beforehand. So I decided to flash FireKat for the DE, and it seems to have worked, but I wanted to set the settings for MMS as suggested in chomp, and I find that the Access Point for Verizon is un-editable. I tried editing the build.prop as suggested for the Note 2--obviously, it didn't work, I lost my Access Points entirely, and my network went to hell--and after a reflash, I'm back to where I started. Does anyone have any idea how to edit access points on the DE?
