Best Overall 5.1.1 LG G3 D851 ROM - T-Mobile LG G3

I've tried many 5.1.1 ROMs for my LG G3 D851 and have found Candy 5.1.1 to be the best overall.
It's been flawless with great battery life in my experience.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/development/rom-candy5-official-t2968229
http://the-candy-shop.co/index.html
I gave up on TMobile's 5.0.1 release as I had numerous SMS/MMS issues.

Update - due to some stability issues with Candy which resulted in random freezes and many battery pulls, switched to Exodus ROM.
Will update after I've had time with it, only been a few days so far (freeze-free so far, very stable)

Exodus has been a solid performer in the week or so that I've been using it. Ran into one issue with the camera not working, but that was a gaffe on the developer not vetting his nightly thoroughly before releasing. The next release which fixed the issue was released expediently within a couple days.

[Q] Which Rom Is STABLE enough to daily driver for our maguro?

Hi all Gnex MAGURO owner.
I just want to share my new setup on my Gnex.
For all the gnex roms i flashed from 4.3 to 5.1, all i can say that some KK are more stable than LP. on my experience so far now on LP Zmod is the most simple LP rom but after a wekk i got Lags and slow response.
so far now you can have SlimLP and RR if you want to have an LP which will last for months.
But if you want to stick on KK better have CM coz until now CM has always updates for our maguro also you can have SlimLP build 9 if you want to exprience SlimPie.
but if you WANT to have MORE STABLE better have the stock (last google support) which im using now for 2weeks and its battery life is awesome, i can play music for 4-5hrs, play game for 3-4hrs, surfing for 3-4hrs.
so now which will you want to flash? LP? KK? JBstock?

i tried nearly everyrom from ICS to LP and have to say this is the best WHICH WORKS FOR ME:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...m-android-revolution-hd-11-0-quality-t1361348
+ the latest fancy kernel.
After i did flash these i have seen how good the nexus is still.
every other rom just lagged and was slow after usage.
this rom i use for 2 weeks and its the best so far.
@saprer, the last message in that thread is from 2013, which makes me doubt if it is up-to-date. Thanks anyway for your opinion.
@Akosijasper, are you getting Google Play Services FCs lately with AOSP KK?.
Zmod is very stable, and good for daily use. I reach almost 3 hours of display with an old (3years) Gnexus and all work very well

I've been using ZMod for almost two months. After that, I went back to KK because of the laggish behaviour.
In any case Ziyan has done a great job.

well at first i'm using Zmod and its one of my favorite ROM bug its getting laggy same with Unofficial CM 12.1 so far on me RR on its latest build is okay but im not that sure how long will it last that it won get laggy on the other hand SlimLp is also good coz its miscellaneous batt drain is gone now but for me all LP has slow response with takes 2-4sec before an app will open. then when using LP those HD games or big size games are getting laggy and slow response.
to all sorry for making this thread its just i'm to concern on our maguro yeah its 3yrs old on the market but still i love this phone.
I think there is nothing to apologize. This thread is OK at this precise moment because some of us are getting a big trouble finding the right rom for our beloved gnexes.
LP = Laggish, memory always exhausted, not responsive, not performant, not a good user experience.
KK = Problems with Google Play Services.
JB = 4.3 too old?.
Solution: get a new sexy phone! xD
Is this me or this should go on Q&A?
Stock 4.1.2 best rom and stock kernel I use 2 weeks and no problem
The problem with 4.3 roms and older are exactly that, they are old. Our Gnex runs KitKat extremelly well as AOSP KitKat proves it so there's no reason to be on 4.3 or older for performance alone.
Let's hope for some love on KitKat roms that solve the PlayServices force close (and maybe the battery drain since my phone is keeping its "Deep Sleep" state for over 94% in 3 days without charging since I'm not using it and it's just laying on the desk but the battery still drains really fast). I'm seing like 5% drain evey hour even with those stats. If I use the phone the battery drains like 10% hour so the "sleeping" is very lousy.
Well, maybe with the optimized "Lollipop" in Android M we can get something off the new system on our Gnex, but for now, 4.4.4 with some love in terms of Google Play Services bugfix and battery draining would be perfect. Please note that I'm not demanding anything, I'm just stating what I believe would be very stable in our phone and what I would like to use. I also believe the majority of gnex owners already have a second phone and like to have the latest software in their phones (and may not mind the lag and abuse of RAM since they don't use the phone for continuous time). But for the ones who still have this one as their trophy in the pocket, I believe that wether having KitKat running well or Lollipop running almost well, we would prefer KitKat.
Hi,
for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-t3026583
Is one of the best, very stable and very fast and support f2fs very well, unfortunately the autor, "sgspluss", not updating anymore, and there is also the problem with play services in common with all KK roms. Until GOOGLE resolve this issue.
but the rom i posted is 4.3 and based on latest ROM aviable.
i dont know but it was the best experience i had: no lagg no stutter good battery and performance
I'm using Official CM 11 by Ziyan ATM, and the Google Play Services FCs are gone. Not as fast as other KK roms, but hey, everything is working

I was about to comment the same. I'm on nightlys, everything works. The problem with CM is once you start updating the nightlys it tends to get very sluggish, I don't know why. It does look like the best choice for now.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Free mobile app
Greenify will surely save a lot of performance if correctly used. I'm on Slimkat 4.4.4 and in 6 months no lag at all

well said my friend. yeah your right with it KK has this problems right now.
Thanks for participating for this thread and sorry for making this thread i'm just wondering what would be your point of view for our maguro. Yeah some of us has their 2nd phones already but its just so awful that living this legacy phone that sudden. Some of us uses this phone as their daily driver and still using it cause its still working and not enough money to buy one. I'm just concern to those people who's still using this legacy phone that is why i made this thread.
LP right now is not that good enough for our gnex
KK also have this googleplay services problem and the fast drain battery
on JB its too old (yeah your right) but some says it is more stable on its battery life and its ram (without exposed) the problem for JB is the apps of the those huge games that may cause slow on gaming.

if you want to use stock ROM,I think the stock 4.3 with stock kernel or fancy r43 kernel is the best, if you want to use custom ROM I suggest you shiny 4.4.2 or OmniROM larest builds with franco r398 or fancy r60 kernels, I had used OmniROM with franco r398 kernel for 8months before I give my lovely gnex to my father.

Camera decrease after MM upgrade

Hello,
it's better to stay with lollipop and XCAM or go with MM? What are your experiences with this "issue" ?
I'm reading about this problem in several threads...
Thank you for response
Might be a common issue with G3 6.0 updates. Happened with my update a few weeks ago as well as others i have read. luckily this usually lasts a few days after which battery drain returns to as it was prior to the update. This was my experience, same as i i read with some others as well. Give it another few days. good luck.
Does the camera quality degrade in STOCK based roms as well?
My wife has same problem with cam focuse. She has 30c. My lg has no problem with cam i use fulmics 4.2 and also didnt have problem on 30b bumped. I guess its appear on v.30c and upper.

4.4.x Debloated debugged stable ROM?

I'm new to the tab s, and I hope there is a stable and relatively bug free ROM that is not lollipop. Marshmallow is too new, so I hope for kitkat. I really like Cyanogenmod, but it looks like the earliest CM ROM is 12.x which, I believe, is android 5. Yuk. Not interested in terrible battery life. Any suggestion for a real solid, fast, debugged ROM for the SM-T700? I'm getting my new tablet tomorrow, and I'll be ready to root, backup and reROM right away. Hate the bloat! Thanks!
Not quite sure what you mean about terrible battery life. How is that related to lollipop?

Since a few days have passed, and I've done a lot more reading than the average person wants to do to answer these questions, and I've flashed a new ROM, I'll answer my own questions for others looking into similar questions.
It looks like many devices out there have suffered from the Android 4 to Android 5 updates, especially those forced by manufacturers. The biggest undesirable symptom being painfully reduced battery life. This is debated all over, especially since your mileage may vary. Since you can find these complaints much more frequently than with other Android upgrades, and since Google quickly released Android 6, it's safe to say there are legitimate issues here. Often people claim no such issues if upgrading to Android 5.1 (instead of Android 5.0) and/or if upgrading via a full wipe then clean flash. And since this is not explicitly the conventional update method for most users (again, mfg pushes update) then it's reasonable to assume updates from Android 4 to Android 5 may really just flat out "SUCK". Whether it's Google's fault or phone MFGs fault, it makes no difference to the end user; they will avoid the version of Android if they can't trust it.
As far as a better, stable, debloated KitKat (Android 4.4.x) ROM goes ...... sorry, too late. Pretty much all focus has been on getting Android 5 working properly. There are CyanogenMod 11 ROMs for the T700, but don't hold your breath for anything "official". I am now running CyanogenMod 12.1 (Android 5.1) and it seems stable with no issues so far and the battery life doesn't seem much worse than it was when running stock the TouchWiz KitKat, which was nice but heavily bloated. This is after root, TWRP, backup, full wipe, then flash CM12.1 and gapps.
My first choice ROM would have been LiquidSmooth, because a lot of praise was given it for being stable and bug-free, but all the download links are dead, the website(s) are pretty lame, and the last builds are almost a year old, so I gave CM a shot, since there are still recent nightly builds, and it is working well.
On a side note: Android 6 (M) third party ROMS are still yet to be stable on all sorts of devices out there, and Google is about to release Android N, possibly as Android 7.
Cmon Google, get it together. Slow down and do things right, and quit making things worse, like the exSDcard restrictions.

What should I use for max stability? Android K, L or M? Stock, GPE or AOSP base?

I've had a Verizon M8 since '14. I used Sunshine (or whatever it was) to set S-OFF and have been flashing various ROMs from day 1. Since Marshmallow ROMs started to appear I've been using them. Over the last 2 months or so I've noticed that my phone tends to die at around 50%. Often times after starting the phone again what appears to be filesystem corruption has occurred and settings reset themselves, icons disappear from my launcher, etc. Now I'm more or less looking to find the most stable, reliable ROM to keep me going until I get a Google Pixel.
Yesterday I flashed a the KitKat RUU (0P6BIMG_M8_WL_K444_SENSE60_VZW_MR_VERIZON_WWE_3.28.605.4_HSM_Radio_1.09.20.0926_NV_VZW_2.11_002_release_393779_signed_1.zip MD5: 6077fefbc12b51ae55f1a066c863a414) and so far it seems very stable. I noticed that this version actually has the ability to disable "Fast Startup" like the calibration directions say. I'm now running a stress test to see how fast the battery drains playing a stream.
Anyway, here are my questions: which version has the least number of issues, especially with battery life? Is my experience with Marshmallow ROMs not normal? Is it a known issue? Is either KitKat or Lollipop considered more stable? Do any of you stick to older ROMs?
As for bases, I think my only choice is stock. I love that 1080p60 camera too much to give it up. The flashable Sense camera for GPE ROMs does NOT record at 60fps when in Fast FullHD mode, it doesn't even hit 30 it seems! I don't think CM or any other AOSP ROMs offer it either, but I could be wrong.
I've had my M8 for roughly 6 months with nothing but MM roms on it the whole time. While I cannot vouch for KK or L roms on this device, I can say that your experience with MM roms is not normal. I've had outstanding battery life with MM roms on my device. Have you tried to flash a few different MM roms to see if it was just an issue with one of the roms? And does the issue still persist with the KK rom that you've most recently flashed?
Stay at kitkat , I was having almost most of your problem after I return it to stock it makes everything good or stock gpe its good for battery life.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ment/rom-vzw-stock-gpe-5-1-lmy47o-h9-t3212413
Had no issues at all with my M8, been using GPE since a week after I bought the phone (about a year ago); Never even saw Kitkat on this device, only Lollipop, which was stock and also worked very well for me...
The GPE camera is as good as it's gonna get with an AOSP base, however they're not all the same. Cyanogen utilizes opensource camera and bluetooth drivers, which in the past have caused mucho trouble for me, GPE is the best of both, Google works with HTC to bake in your phones legit drivers, while still giving the vanilla android experience.

Your Rom Experience with HTC One M9 as of September 2017

Recently got a M9. Wanted to know your experience about the most popular rom for the M9. Viper, Leedroid, ICE... How to you like them? What is battery life and performance?
I don't care about customization so as long as a rom is fast, stable, and hold good battery life, I would take it.
Let me know if you could jump in and share your thoughts.
Thanks
p.s. I actually went ahead and flash leedroid 10 v3.9.0 stable.
The room is fluent but I can't get notifications....
Do you have Leedroid tweaks installed?
I'm using ViperOneM9 now, seems stable and good battery.
I'm using ICE M9 5.5.9,and i have tested Viper rom. I prefered ICE with great battery life, smooth fast, and without problems. Ice great rom.
I used viperOne before, great rom with good battery life... I hated all the preloaded apps in the rom
I personally chose viper as the best stock based ROM but I found battery standby by time suffered to extent and i barely managed to get 8 hours out of the battery.
It also has far to many options and tweaks for my liking.
I ran a development stock ROM based on 4.x firmware for a few weeks, and it worked fine.
I'm currently running lineage OS 14.1 after a spell running lineage 15, but although 15 is very good, its not fully stable and has no working camera and does randomly reboot at times.
I'm getting a solid 14 hours stand by on the battery using lineage 14.1.
I just find that the best (for me) at this time.
The bad part of aosp roms is camera and sound.
For me stock nougat is the best.
