Dear XDA Folks, I jsut managed to get my hands on the new Yureka plus and so far it has been great (from 10 hours of continuous usage). SInce the difference between the Yureka and the Yureka plus are teh Full HD screen and the differenent Camera sensor, I was wondering if the same rooting method for Yureka would work for Yureka plus as well. I dont see any reason why the same procedure should not work considering that the hardware is exactly the same and so is the ROM. Would be great if you folks could shed light on this..

same here. I haven't been able to root the phone up till now, but, am satisfied with the unit. Overall performance is fine. although the speaker volume does seem to be on the lower side. but, no heating or lagging issues as of now.

The heating problem is kind of given...most of phones using snapdragon 615 heat-up, if you don't want it to heat you could probably go for mediatek devices at almost same price.
As for the lagging problem I guess you are consuming too much of your ram. Try clearing it from time to time and try to minimize the background apps

Root
This crap
615-s are known for heating..so I am not surprised... But I dont see any signs of throttling so that's good. The phone is still fast. If you want to reduce ram usage, go with greenify and also disable unwanted apps...greenify and clean master without root is not that effective...but still does the job... I wish I can root it so that I can use Amplify to clear a few wakelocks. That should help solve any battery issues. The device itself is brilliant...you need to do a few tweaks and it should be good. Can't wait to root it...then prolly flash another ROM...change to beast or xcelerate kernel...maaayybe reduce clock speed just a little for the heating issues....volume is a little low..but we should be able to modify mixer path to increase it. All we need is root

that's exactly what i was wondering..just eagerly waiting for the rooting method. underclocking has proved to be effective to lessen the overheating issues as we observed on Mi phones. but if even underclocking itself could not solve the overheating issue..what then??:crying::crying::crying::crying:?

Does xcelerate kernel decreases the charging time as well cause the phone charges damn slow..

Charging is slow because the charger is just 1500 mA and it has got a long cable so it is giving the output close to 900 mA to 1100 mA. Micromax needs to change the charger in this case. I tried to charge it with my S4 charger and it charged in less then half time.

Hello, just out of no where today I had a problem the exact same as in this video: http://youtu.be/drZc4ZPcuvo. It has finally went back to normal but now the screen is constantly flickering. Seems to me like a dodgy GPU or LCD connector. Any ideas amyone?
I posted almost the exact same issue a few weeks ago if you search for it. Yeah with my 1st G3 this happened and I had to return it.

HI, I see that you mentioned that you unlocked your bootloader. I hadn't yet heard of an exploit? This is a deciding factor for me in switching over to this device. Can you shed a little light on the exploit that you used? Is it publicly available? Did you get a device that already had the bootloader unlocked?(doesn't sound like it because otherwise I doubt you would fear them having an issue with it). Which devices is the exploit available for?(int, att, tmo, etc) Tha:good:nks in advance

No, it didn't help. Nothing helped. There was obviously something hardware wise that was broken. The only thing I can think that did it was that I was messing around in the developer options with GPU rendering soon before it happened. Incidentally on my 2nd replacement handset I had a few what looked like screen glitches, the screen almost flashed off and on a few times. I put that down to using the nomone resolution app when it happened.

Im really not sure, it may have just been the GPU overheating or something, or some kind of power loss im not sure, ill keep watch on it this week.
Haven't had this issue since, so it was a one off!
I've wanted a G4 since I first saw it. I liked the subtly curved screen and even more that the curve is less pronounced--it's a really nice phone and since I just got it, I can't complain. However, I had a Moto X (1st gen) for three years with Sprint and I really liked it! I didn't like Sprint's poor coverage and seemingly unsupportive customer service. But I liked the Moto X probably more than I've liked any phone I've ever owned because it seemed to be the perfect size, it felt like a tank, and was really fast for the hardware. But what I miss the most are the active notifications when the phone was idle.
I have no plans to return to the Moto X but I would like to see if active notifications ( or something like it ) are possible to enable on the G4. This might be a challenge with Marshmallow's Doze mode (that I just learned about).
Lastly, it would be cool if someone can provide a website or forum that supports users that have tricked out the G4. I already looked up rooting options--I always root my phones--but apparently there isn't one for the VS98625A yet. :fingers-crossed:
There's an app that I use called KinScreen that has an option to wave your hand over it and it will wake up the screen. However, it will drain the battery more quickly as our phones have an LCD screen. At one time there was an app could replicate the active notifications found on Moto devices.
It is possible to root your phone if you flash the lollipop kdz file using LGUP. If you search XDA you should be able to find it.

It's a nice phone but the battery is not great, especially for a medium to heavy user
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
I'm a medium to heavy user and the battery life is acceptable. Any chance I get to plug in it throughout the day, I take it. I have owned a Galaxy Nexus before where the battery life sucked and I used a spare battery just to get through most of the day. I didn't enjoy having to carry around a spare battery all the time. With quick charging on the G4, I can plug it in occasionally throughout the day and it's enough for me. At least for now.
In July, my wife and I will be going to Alaska for two weeks, so I plan on buying a spare battery and charger for the trip. But for normal, every day usage, I don't have a need for an extra battery right now.

Also, keep an eye on the apps that use a lot of battery, and disable them, if possible. Just the other day, I noticed that the Verizon cloud app was using a lot of battery, so I disabled it. I have noticed an improvement in the battery life since disabling it.

I am on version 25A now and so far so good. Apparently they fixed the issue with the memory as that was causing the automatic reboots. I did not do a hard reset after upgrading, but it is advisable. Hope all is smooth as butter now. Thanks, bro, for your comments.

Two things I have noticed thus far:
- Auto brightness seems to be a little bit brighter, doesn't go down to lowest level that easily anymore
- I noticed that there is ZRAM now listed under the RAM details of a process. Not sure if that is new or I just haven't noticed that before.
Can anybody with pre-27C check if ZRAM is listed on the RAM details pane of a process? If not, then this is new.

I have been using Facebook and it randomly just rebooted twice within two minutes. I'm on 27c. Could it just be Facebook or the new software update? Who knows. But I never have experienced reboots in the past. The first one was annoying. I was responding in length to someone for at least 5 minutes, and it decides it wants to reboot. I lost everything that I had typed out. The phone was not charging but was slightly warm. So I feel like either Facebook or something else may have caused it. I have installed and uninstalled Facebook several times in the past. It's just annoying to try and share things without having the native app installed.

I think you got a bootloop coming. Probably the heat generated by installing the update has caused it. Happened to me last time when i installed 26A as well, few days later it started acting up and then bootlooped.

Nothing really. Backup your data and be prepared for the inevitable to happen.
I guess I'm gonna be looking to go to T-Mobile so I can get them to pay off my phone. I owe $425 to Verizon for another year. If I buy a phone from them and switch to them, I can get rid of this phone. Last year, I got an iPhone 6plus on payments. 6 months later I sold it for $500 and bought this brand new G4 on Swappa for $300. But I'm still obligated to make the payments to Verizon for the cost of the iPhone.

Pretty sure they require you to turn in the actual phone on the payment plan to pay it off. Since you don't have the phone anymore, that may be an issue.

That's not the case. If you look at T-Mobile's website it says otherwise. You send in the phone to T-Mobile, not Verizon when you switch.

I've thoroughly researched this issue and talked with two different people from Verizon support on whether or not you can switch phones while under a payment plan without having to turn in the original phone. The payments aren't tied to the phone, only the phone line.

I have a t-mobile s20 everything was fine until I updated to the new security patch firmware which was August 1st. And since then my signal has been wonky. Constant no connection/reconnecting. Now it gets to where sometimes it'll get stuck on searching for service and I won't need to reboot my device multiple times in a day to get it back and running again.
I am having the exact same problem! Just updated my phone today and thought it was just my phone! Let me know if anyone finds a solution!

Thank you. Basically looks like we're gonna have to wait until Samsung/t-mobile releases another update for the fix.
lol I have a one plus 8, on t mobile and I literally just bought a g s20 to avoid this issue. That happened to me twice after two updates on the one plus 8. Lol t mobile is sucking on updates.
