I rooted yesterday, today decided to do a factory reset since I was having some battery issues. When I get the the end of the setup I get "unfortunately lgs setup wizard has stopped ". I press OK and get into a loop of the setup screens. I was able to hook up to the computer and get into the debloater tool and it still shows lgsetupwizard.apk there.
Can I either skip the setup completely or what else are my options
I can get into the settings. I can even get into apps and a launcher but the home and recent buttons are greyed out. The only way I can do anything is by being at the lockscreen and swiping down the status bar.
Went through the same but just did an online nandroid backup and redid the flash of root before running a wipe, and put your backup on your memory card not internal. And retry your methods slowly to narrow the scope. I stopped messing with the startup wizard, one with vzw and app in it's name is the only wizard left and no Issues.

Noticed that when I used the debloayer tool, the lgsetupwizard was automatically blocked before I blocked anything. Could this be the case?

You can get the phone into download mode correct? (Power off, hold volume up, and plug in USB). If so, flash a fresh KDZ of your variant and you'll be good to go. Wont be rooted of course, but you can easily reroot
Is T-Mobile My Account blocked? That would prevent the initial setup from finishing.

You could just tap the corners top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left to bypass first setup to direct home screen.
I have resolved my issue. I'm not so sure its actually resolved or just worked around. But I managed to get into TiBu and freeze LGSetupWizard and it closed the setup. Hopefully I just wont have to factory reset again. Also thank you @MrSteelX, that is a solution I had been looking for before and will keep in mind next time.
Im stuck too, mine is H810 AT&T , do you know how to get past the SetUp Wizard?
It happened to me after I used the Low Effort Root and a factory reset.

to anyone wondering, this method does not work on the lg g4's setup wizard. i had this issue and the only way i found that worked was to do the tot recovery, kdz may work as well but tot was what i went with and it fixed the issue perfectly.

I can't for the life of me find any sort of documentation for this update, Nothing is listed on T-Mobile's website and I cant find any immediate changes in the UI. The only info I can find about the tmo G3 is that it should be at D85110c. Anyone else get this D85110m update?
I just installed this update but can't find anything about it either.
Here's a screenshot of the build number and the baseband, in case that changed too.
someone help please. I accidentally clicked update even though I was rooted. Now when I try to enter download mode, it goes straight to TWRP and when I turn off my phone and then press the volume up button as it's turning off, it shows a screen saying firmware update but the percentage bar doesn't move. Did this update lock me in custom recovery?
Late yesterday (20140909) I got a status bar notification that a T-Mobile Software Update had been downloaded, and that I should click on it to update. I left it alone for some hours but then, used to a couple of years of easy Cyanogenmod updates (I'm rooted stock on this phone), I went ahead and clicked on the update. It threw me into TRWP and just sat there. I went looking for the download, to update manually from there, and couldn't find it. Now I can't get the phone to boot to system, just the recovery. After a few attempts, I tried restoring a five week old backup, but it still dumps me in recovery. Can't seem to get out of it. I can't even verify that this is the same update you guys are talking about (can't get to settings), although the timing is right. What can I do from here?

I've gotten what appears to be this update but I am rooted and TWRP so I know I cant select it to install like a few other users have done. Is there anyway to remove this update from the notification bar or maybe download it and apply through TWRP... I thought I turned off the call home feature when I bought the device and rooted a few months ago...

Done... Any chance this decide to update on its own without any human intervention?? I dont have time to deal with fixing the phone if it does install and then fails because of TWRP right now...
I'm under the impression that human intervention is necessary for the update to apply itself on the phone. You don't chose yes it shouldn't load.
I think there is a battery life improvement.

You can open the terminal emulator in TWRP and run "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota". That might help. Helped with the LG G2 all the time.
I'm on Sprint. I think I can speak for everyone with a locked bootloader that we wish we had this problem. Haha. You just need stock recovery installed probably.

I had the same problem and using these two commands in TWRP terminal emulator should work (as stated above). It will give you a 'no space' error, but that is expected. After that the phone should boot back to normal.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
Be sure to not make any typos - apparently you can completely mess up your device. It took me quite a while to find out about the misc command - just the fota one didn't do it for me...
I got the OTA yesterday.
I traded in my S4 on the jump program yesterday, (9.16.14), and got an LG G3. When I got home I noticed that an update was downloaded and ready to install and since I had barely got it and it wasn't rooted or anything I decided what the heck. I applied the update and my version is now 110m and like the other guy said there is a "camera slider" on the lockscreen that I don't think was there before. But I have had this phone for less that 24 hours so maybe I'm wrong.
Rooted Sprint Galaxy S6 on Lollipop 5.1.1 with Teamwin recovery
http://tiribulus.net/pix/Phone/1.png
http://tiribulus.net/pix/Phone/2.png
Sporadically lags a bit everywhere, but I cannot receive incoming calls. I use another phone to test and it rings on the calling phone several times, goes to my voicemail and THEN rings on my phone and of course can't be answered. It just hangs there all greyed out until I hang up and takes like 20 seconds for the phone app to disappear. Other times it doesn't even ring at all on my phone. I can make outgoing calls.
The Sprint support guy took me through re-provisioning the phone with some dial pad codes, he did something to the SIM card too , I've uninstalled Drupe (which has been great) and reinstalled it. Tried both when on and off the phone. No difference
Wiped both the cache partition and the davlik cache.
This started a couple days ago when the phone rebooted ITSELF without my touching it and then booted back up into an error that said "Unfortunately, NetworkSystemProvider has stopped.". Couldn't do anything. Tapping OK made it go away for half a second and it was back. A friend of mine managed to get some Sprint specific thing either disabled or yanked and the error went away. Everything seemed to be fine. I'm not sure when the phone issue started exactly or even if it's related to that situation or not. I just noticed today that someone was calling me and I couldn't answer. (I do most of my communications online and don't get that many phone calls, but the ones I do get are very important)
Oh yeah, I reseated the SIM after an error saying there wasn't one after the Sprint guy sent some info to it and that went away.
i am at total loss here. The Sprint guy of course wants to wipe the phone. That would be a monstrous drag for all the reasons you guys already know for a phone that has been working great for over a year like it is.
Please be my new hero and tell me what to do if anybody knows. I have good PC skills and SOME with Android, but this is beyond me.
Thank you SO much.
It also keeps re-sending me old txts
The Sprint store gave me a new SIM card and that didn't fix it either. Restoring a TWRP full image restore from April didn't fix it. A factory wipe in Teamwin recovery didn't fix it. Same exact symptoms no matter what I do.
Ring ring ring ring ring on the calling phone, it finally rings on mine, but is already in voicemail on the calling phone. Once in a GREAT while it will ring just a bit earlier on mine and it will flutter between being greyed out on the answer screen (all the options like speaker etc) and eventually connect the call after a second or two. Nobody I can find has ever seen anything like this. This S6 was working absolutely flawlessly for well over a year.
It also appears I am not usually getting incoming txt messages either, but I am getting only certain old ones repeatedly. Sometimes old voicemails too. It's almost more like it's a remote server issue somewhere.
I hate to say it, but it sounds like your phone is failing and will need to be replaced. But before you do that, here is a relatively easy thing to try:
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Using Odin, flash the latest firmware. You are at 5.11, the latest is 6.01. That will restore you to stock OS, take away root and TWRP, but you'll be able to restore those. You shouldn't have any data loss.
Once that is done, go to Settings and System Update and then Update PRL and Profile. See if that solves it. If it does, you can quickly Root and Recovery again.
Good luck!

TWRP (or Teamwin if you like) won't be an issue. Download Odin on your PC, download the zipped TAR file in the first post of my link. Extract the .MD5 in the zip to the same directory as Odin (you don't really have to, this is just convenient. Install the latest Samsung drivers to your PC, make sure that your computer recognizes the phone. Put the phone into Download mode. (Hold the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons at the same time.) Plug the phone into your computer. If the com light lights up in Odin, you are good to go. Flash the TAR using the AP slot in Odin.
This sounds like a lot, but it is easier to do than for me to tell you. But WAIT! In my linked post, there is a video that will walk you through it all!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv0BnfpNxEs
How easy is that? The only thing that Tim says that is no longer true is that data won't be wiped by default.
OOPS WROTE THIS BEFORE I SAW YOU REPLIED LEMME LOOK
I'm sorry man. I'm actually a seasoned PC support guy. I know I'm being a pain. I don't have muich experience with these phones though and it's been 14 months since I flashed this one. I don't know what most of that means over there.
I don't have the regular recovery. I have Teamwin. There IS an ADB side load function in there. Is that what I use in place of the regular download mode? If so, won't that leave Teamwion on the phone since that's what I'm using? Sprint won't give me another one while it's on there.
How do I know if Odin is seeing the phone? It doesn't appear to act like it knows my phone is attached to the computer. Does it have to be in download mode that I'm trying to find out how to get into here
Forgive my abject ignorance please.

Could you be holding the Volume Up button, not the Volume Down button by mistake?
Doesn't matter. If you are in TWRP and you select "Reboot" one of the options should be Download. That will do the same thing for you.
You can also install something like this (if you are rooted) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jc.rebootmanager
And one last thing. You need to have your phone in Download mode to be seen by Odin.

What I don't understand is why a known good TWRP recovery from months ago didn't fix it, but an OS upgrade did. You'd think that both should work or not. Its' the same phone and a full backup from when it worked fine. Oh well. I'm just glad it did work.
X-Posed?
While I have you here. You don't happen to have a guide for installing X-Posed on this phone do you? I have the zip installed from TWRP, but when I go to install the APK from within the OS I get what you see in this screen and the guy who's guide I was following doesn't respond. It occurred to me that koop1955 might know. Thanks. Even if you don't.

Anybody know of a solution out there to bring the home button back to the center like every other Android device. I am rooted and I'm using Nova Launcher. Looking for a way to do this without using a different launcher or a different rom. I know with CM you can change them but I know someone out there knows a way? Also does anybody like this on the left side? Thanks.
I use Pixel_C_SystemUI_Navbar_Tuner_NRD90M.zip from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=104855. It works great, even on 7.1.1 (NMF26H). I have an extra "recent" button on the left, home in the center and an extra "left" on the right. It has to be installed with recovery.

Thanks for the reply - I bet having it installed prior to 7.1.1 was the key to getting it working. At any rate I have bigger problems now, after restoring my backup my device gets stuck at the Google logo screen. I can still boot back into TWRP recovery, but I'm afraid I'll have to flash back to stock via the official images from Google. If that doesn't work I'll be returning this tablet. Kinda sad, I've only had it for a few days...
FWIW, my tablet isn't rooted.
Im looking for advice as my brothers LG G4 is no longer working. My brother passed away in May of this year and no one is aware of the draw pattern to unlock the phone. I attempted to use an online tool called Dr.Fone to take the passcode off, however this didnt work. The firmware update screen froze and nothing would move so i removed the battery to restart it. On restarting it, the screen began to change colour and the touchscreen wouldnt work, although it takes you to the draw pattern screen. Im at a loss with what to do, as I cant loose the data on the phone and a hard reset isnt an option. If theres an suggestions id be grateful.
You cant do anything then. Android isnt as stupid as it used to be

Backing up your data can be done with DLM backup (check my sig)!
Removing the screen lock is possible in TWRP if you have it.. If not its maybe possible in download mode but this requires Linux or best FWUL (check my sig) as here all tools needed already included!
Depending on what you have i can share details but first i need to know :
Do you have TWRP and so your device is unlocked?
Do you have Linux AND do you have the knowledge to use it? If you can't answer BOTH with "yes" download FWUL first.

Il be honest that i have absolutely no idea what they are. Im not technically savvy when it comes to phones and things of the sort.
As far as i can explain, the touchscreen wont work and anytime you press the home button the screen lights up, but you cant actually use it. Im not sure if the term bricked applies as it sounds potentially along those lines?
Id probably need a step by step to sort it without getting to the point of being unable to salvage it.

In theory yes. It depends on the firmware and device model if it works or not.. Some firmwares are more locked down then others but for 8 of 10 it works.

Hey all
I very recently made the mistake of upgrading my phone, not realising that it was a complete overhaul from 8.0 to 9.0. I absolutely hate it. There are a dozen downsides and, as far as I have noticed, not a single benefit to this upgrade. I have gotten frustrated many times already due to the stupid little changes and have spent a good portion of my day attempting to figure out how to reverse it.
Now I'm not that tech-savvy, and the only method to get back the phone I knew and loved is to 'flash' it (?) using a software which I have acquired. I must also apparently make sure to back up my data because downgrading in this manner apparently does not ensure any of your personal data is protected.
So my question here is twofold:
1. Does anybody have the UK version for the latest 47.1.A.16.20 firmware as an appropriate file (FTF?) for me to get back the phone I paid for as opposed to this crap?
2. What would be an appropriate method of backing up my phone such that I can recover it all post-flash with all of my settings and user data intact?
Thank you all so very much for your help!

Just downgrade it yourself, you won't damage the phone or change your warranty status.
Here is a copy of 47.1.A.16.20, It's not the UK version, but that makes no difference
Download Newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware you downloaded
Delete persist*.sin to avoid losing android attest key.
Turn phone off completely. Then start newflasher.exe and follow instrctions. Plug the phone into the pc whilst holding volume up(+), then no & no in the newfalsher dialog box, then you should be away.
You might need a copy of the Sony driver
I would make a backup with Xperia transfer before you do anything, you can't keep your data when you downgrade, so this would be the easiest way of keeping the important stuff. Back up onto your sdcard, then restore once the flash has completed.

Hi Steve, I accidentally installed the update today and I wish to revert too. Apparently the Xperia XZ1c has DRM keys for things like the camera and video processing which if custom firmware is flashed will be lost. Is this an issue when flashing an older version of a stock xperia rom like you are suggesting? Thanks

No unlocking the bootloader is an entirely seperate procces and can't be done accidently flashing firmwares. You have to get an unlock code from Sony and do some ADB magic.
There is another tools called Flashtool, that does the same thing as Newflasher, but has the power to delete your DRM, if driven improperly, so I don't recomend that.
Newflasher is safe to use and won't damage your TA partition (DRM keys), just note the persistxx.sin removal, that stops damage to one of the partitions.
You can't keep you data when retro-grading, you must wipe the phone to factory, there isn't any other way.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm backing up my phone right now. You mentioned the persistxx.sin removal, sorry if the answer is obvious but I'm a bit new to all this, does Newflasher do this automatically or do I need to do it myself? If so, how does one go about removing it?

Ah right I think I understand you, I opened the ftf file with 7zip and deleted the file named "persist.sin". I'll be flashing it tomorrow so I'll let you know how it went. Really appreciate the tips

Hey PCB! Could you tell me more about all those downsides? I'd like to know more before/if I (ever) decide to upgrade.
I know that clock on the left-hand side would irritate me. Also, volume buttons defaulting to media is something I don't like.
But you mentioned "a dozen" so I'm curious.
Tnx!

Hey man! I wrote up a few reasons on a Reddit post earlier so I'm just going to paste that if that's okay!
Volume button now always does media volume instead of a sliding scale for normal stuff ie ringtone
Lots of irritatingly unnecessary changes such as the time now being in the top right so my muscle memory has me checking the time and I'm momentarily confused.
They've changed the overall aesthetic to be more Apple-y resulting in a really weird look, making the text in most places look larger than usual (especially the notifications).
The pull-down-from-the-top menu now shows two rows of enlarged buttons instead of three like before.
The WiFi and Bluetooth drop down menus have gone, so now if you want to quickly switch between two networks instead of being able to do it all in one screen you have to go to the settings page for WiFi and Bluetooth.
(this one is very minor) the colour of the keyboard has gone from black and orange (which I liked) to black and blue.
I know it sounds like I'm being awfully nitpicky but honestly the few bits of functionality that were removed were things I relied on a lot; I just don't appreciate such ****ty unnecessary changes for no apparent reason.
As far as I can see, there are absolutely no improvements or upgrades or anything at all that I can point to and go "yeah that's worth it."
I've been using this update for only a little while and I'm sure that there are other things which'll pop out at me over time as well!
Hope this helps mate

These two are absolutely unacceptable. An update should never remove features or make previous things harder to do, this update is an absolute joke. Now once again I have to go through the arduous process of factory resetting my phone to downgrade simply because Sony couldn't put out a competent update to save their lives.
Thanks mate! I agree with you 100%. The phone is "perfect" just the way it is and some changes, that Google and Sony made, should totally have been optional. I would upgrade it just for curiosity.... but I don't wanna regret it later.
Cheers!
Are we talking about toggles? You do know that you can add a third row? For WiFi and Bluetooth just do the long press and go to settings.
I've just updated and am I wrong or the recent app switcher and the navigation bar are still the same and not the Pie version?

I can only have two rows shown at a time on mine! I looked in the settings as well, any other buttons now have to be swiped across to access because of how ludicrously large they made them.

You're not wrong. It's the same. Sony removed Google's gesture navigation.

Hi, me again
I tried flashing the phone today with newflasher but to no avail. I downloaded those xperia drivers, added them using device manager, and the hardware wizard gave the following message
"The following hardware was installed:
Sony sa0117 ADB Interface Driver
The software for this device is now installed but may not work correctly.
This device cannot start (Code 10)"
I tried flashing anyway after the phone had been put into debug mode but newflasher simply prompts whether or not I need GordonGate flash driver. If I type "n" to skip, it throws the error
"No usb device with vid:0x0fce pid:0xb00b !"

If you're using Windows 10 it would have completly failed to install your driver and didn't bother telling you. Restart Windows 10 in safe mode and look for 'driver signing disabled', then try again.
Edit: or click 'Yes' to first question in Newflasher and it will prodice a zip file of the drivers you need, then apply as above.

No luck with either of these unfortunately. I'll try doing it on my Windows 7 PC at home, hopefully I'll get better results with that :fingers-crossed:

Would you mind telling me how you did that? I trawled through the settings briefly but couldn't see anything applicable!
Would really appreciate it!
