Hey has anyone confirmed that busybox works just fine on LS991? I am not super with it and don't want to brick the device. If no one has tried it, is it possible it would brick my device if I allow it to install? Sorry for the silly question BTW.
Installed just fine! works like a charm!

why dont you try it? report back when bricked.
Used it on my Desire earlier today, worked great
Did it through Ubuntu though, but sure it works just as well in Windows with V3.1.
someone posted youtube video of it being flashed... not great quality though.. looks fairly simple

Just used it on an already rooted desire
Only used it to get rid of stock recovery for clockworkmod
Works absolutely fantastic on a macbook pro
Just run the file
Connect your phone to your computer and it does everything automatic, just let it run for a minute it'll tell you what's going on, you'll end up in the recovery of your choice
100 stars to the devs of this!!! i'd donate a whole frickin keg if i could

Any point to this post?
This is looking pretty sweet for those of us who wanted an automated process Can anyone tell me how unrooting would work for this, in anticipation of the official Froyo update from HTC?
Used this yesterday, worked like a charm.. 1 minute, one click.
Installed Official FroYo Sense ROM...
Using this method you no longer need a goldcard at all.
so this is easy way to root a phone?
I did it yesterday. Incredibly easy and straightforward once you have the android drivers installed.

can you explain?
Would this preserve the data on your phone/sd card?
Tried this loads of times. Just sits there telling me to plug the phone in and enable usb debugging!
There is a thread on this in the Dev. forum. It might be worth posting any issues you have in there.
You need to install HTC Sync, then uninstall it, leaving the drivers installed. Install the driver that is included in the download package, connect the phone then click! This is on win7.
I have used this method and rooted my Desire! Thanks for the info. I am now thinking of installing a custom image of 2.2 to try. I would like to backup settings and applications before I do this. Any tips on how to do this? Has anyone else done this successfully?
I tried it yesterday and it worked fine! All you have to do is plug your usb cable and start the application. After a few restarts, the phone is rooted. You don't lose any settings, and your ROM stays untouched. You also have ClockWorkMod recovery flashed and you're ready to flash any ROM!

You could use Titanium Backup to back your stuff up.
any word on how to unroot?
Hi there, I have been looking everywhere on rooting my HTC desire A8181, mostly here with you guys, very helpful, took me 2 days to really get it done. This my first android, after losing my iphone, but can't say i'm disapointed as Apple are getting to tight now with the updates.
So... I have s-off, pvt2000, recovery is the 4ext, i'm running AOKP jellybean 4.2.2. I also tried the Cyanogenmod but found it was a bit slow so reverted back to AOKP, each time i have done a full wipe off everything.
SuperSu is installed i have ran the a2sd script via Terminal, went fine. and tapped build number 7 times.
My question is with the results in Root checker pro, i think i'm missing something, most of the results are good but its with the /sbin/su result being denied and system/bin/su aswell. i have made screenshoots to explain more.
This is my first ever post on something like this so, i hope i have given enough info, I have looked alot but can't find this particular problem anywhere else on the net. I am also thinking, theres nothing wrong, that i'm trying to much, i'm obsessive like this LOL.
Thanks in advance, hope you guys can explain whats going on here.

Download an app that requires root permission, install it and if SU pops up asking to grant superuser then all is fine. Never mind those useless root check apps. I once tried one, i was s-off, rooted, custom rom, custom hboot and the app said i wasnt rooted haha they a load of @#%# one will tell u ur rooted then the other will say ur not. all customs roms will (should) be rooted so dont worry
All's good!

Done. Works just fine, have SuperSU working great.
Also confirm that it works. I have not installed super SU yet, but I need to.
I did it.
It was very satisfying to delete Sprint Zone
Can't get superSU binaries installed
Rooted with superSU fully functional!
Blew out most of the garbage apps already and there's a noticeable difference in performance when rebooting.

Apparently it only works with the sprint s6 version. You guys are sooo lucky.
First of all thanks to Bin4ry for writing a great script which make rooting really easy. I have used ur method to root a couple of my devices. It worked seamlessly for me. Anyways what I'd like to know is if it will also work for android KitKat. I currently have mtk 6592 which is running KitKat.
I have tried some one click apps but they did not help me, the device does get rooted but I face issues while running apps.
If not then please wld u pls guide me to some rooting method which installs supersu like ur script (I've never faced any issues with supersu in running any app). Thanks for your time and responses.

You could try asking in the thread related to mtk 6592 or Your device specific one. I doubt anybody will be able to help You here.
Having trouble installing. Keep's asking me to install the drivers and reboot each time I open it. Maybe it doesn't like my busybox install I don't know. Hope someone here can figure it out. I was going off these instructions on the pixel board. Seems like they're concerned about passing safetynet so I can't tell if what they're doing is necessary for our device but I really don't care about safetynet (though I guess it might be nice if possible but I don't really use it) I just want better sound.

Anyone want to attempt and try to translate them for the nexus 5x? Let us know how you get it working if you do
I installed V4A magisk module and setenforce to 0. And V4A is working 100% fine with safety net pass. Sometimes it turn itself off but after a sec is fine again.
just install ARISE+Magnum+Opus+20170811
I'm not sure I understand these replies. Can someone give me a step by step with links to the files I would need to use? Keep in mind I'm currently rooted with standard su methods, would I need to unroot first?

The second file put in internal storage, flash via twrp the first file.
If not works for you dirty flash your rom over and sorry. It works for me but I'm still on nougat.

On my nexus 5x with oreo I installed the latest version of ARISE but when I go to "Driver Status" it says: "Abnormal" and "Unsupported".
Any help for this error?
Thanks
