After attempting to update an app in play store, I was prompted with a 194 error. I recently configured my rooted handset back to stock firmware using instructions from XDA which worked like a charm. I then re-rooted the G2, and restored from a backup I made before returning to stock. The device performed flawlessly, then hours later I began getting these 194 errors in the play store. I have a Sprint LG G2 LS980ZVE, 32 GB, Kernel version 3.4.0, Android version 4.4.2. If I must re-do the hand set again, I will, but if someone knows an easier fix, please do share. Thanks!

Have you tried clearing everything on the play store. Go to settings/apps/Google play store.
Clear data and cache and see I'd that helped.
Of not try removing updates and have it update.

Yes I have tried that procedure, but no luck. I eventually disabled my firewall, then I was able to download away! Now before returning to stock, and having same apps, I never had that issue! I would love for someone to explain the difference to me. Anyway, thanks a lot for your suggestion, they are always appreciated.

Maybe your firewall reads your device as a different IP address from what you have set to go through. I'm not sure, why your firewall is blocking I don't know.
Sounds great. I just set up a user account with XDA, and plan on visiting quite frequently. Thanks!

How exactly did you get market enabler to work/fix the issue? I installed, and it says that it works, but I can't get past the server issue at all. I've tried setting it to TMobile and VZW US, tried Canadian settings, and a few others ...
I'm on a VZW GNex, running a nightly of AOKP. The issue started literally out of nowhere in the afternoon yesterday. hadn't changed any settings or flashed a new rom. Just got out of work, and couldn't connect to the market all of a sudden. This did coincide with a Rom Manager gallery screw up though - fixed that luckily. Decided to re-flash my current ROM, but that hasn't helped either.
Almost wonder whether it's worth relocking, going back to stock, and exchanging the phone =/

Try clearing market data and google services framework data.then try again.i changed it to T-mobile.that worked for me.
Hi guys,
this is driving me nuts. I've searched the webs and found some answers, but not anything I'd like to do to remedy this problem.
My brand new R800i, not rooted, won't download games from Google Play Store via wi-fi. It will just say "starting download" and then nothing happens, I can just just watch that bar indicating download as it does not move one bit. It seems some other people had this same problem, as I've found out on the internet. 3G works fine though. I had to download my games from the Play Store using 3G, which is a pain in the ass.
A few points to consider:
- I have only so far used one wi-fi point, which worked with all my previous Xperia Plays. Maybe if I try a different hot-spot, the problem will magically disappear?
- I do not want to root, unlock bootloader or do any such things with my XP.
- I do NOT want to reset my phone to factory settings, I would lose lots of savegame data.
- I HAVE tried several times clearing the cache of the Google Store app, Download Manager app and resetting the Google Talk app. Did not help.
- Downloading from any other source (Gameloft for example) works via wi-fi, it's just that stupid Google Play Store that does not.
- Some people say the problem should sort itself out after a few days...It's been two weeks and I still can't download via wi-fi from the Store.
Could any kind soul suggest a solution that does not involve resetting my phone, or rooting? Thanks for any advice.

Yes, did not help.
Besides, that just erases your user data right? Your log-in and password.
I will try it again just to be sure, but I think I did it too.
i too had same prob. but it got solved after 3 or 4 days... may be i was lucky.
Used to have this problem. Uninstall update ( this will get you back to old market) then let it update again. That's what I did.

...doesn't work for me, nor does anything else mentioned before Tried installing 3.8.15 via .apk and back to stock, clearing cache, data etc. Play Store works with UMTS/EDGE but not as good as before (takes a while before download actually starts, that behavior is new). With WiFi I don't get an error message but the download simply doesn't start. Everything else I do via WiFi works great (FTP-syncing calendar data stored on my NAS, browsing the web, file transfer via ES-FileExplorer and so on).
I use a Galaxy S3 with Siyah Kernel (1.5rc1), XXBLG8 Stock Firmware and XXLH1 modem. Same Market issue before the update (Siyah 1.4, Stock XXALE8, stock modem (May 2012)). So maybe it is not at all model related, but something with the market itself... Strangely I found just a few posts about this - here I have the most hope for help

First: I know I am in the wrong model section, as I use a Galaxy S3 but post under Sony Xperia... Sorry for that - it was just a topic that seemed Google Play Store related rather than dependant on a specific model.
Second: I tried all of this (although I don't have such a section under settings/accounts on my phone) and more. I just flashed the latest stock firmware again*, did a full wipe, used TriangleAway! and every single thing I can think of. I even went to my google-account to see if there's something wrong, but no.
Still: UMTS works, WiFi doesn't. WiFi otherwise perfectly working with all kinds of uses. Tried all tips and hints, nothing works. Problem started a few days ago with older fw/ROM, which I didn't touch for weeks and worked fine until then. I really don't have a clue what changed!
EDIT: I also checked, if my ISP or my WLAN settings (router) are off - nada. I tried to install/update an app on another Android device in my household: this one works perfectly with WiFi. So it must be the Store itself...
UPDATE: Still no real solution! In the meantime it worked for a few days without my doing and in the same way it stopped working again today. I guess the Google server software is bugged. I placed a support request at Google-Support. This was an experience I can't make public enough:
Even though I initially told them what I tried they just did a copy&paste of their own F.A.Q. This went on for four days, the didn't even read my information. And I was quite thorough. I even made a network capture file, prefiltered it with Wireshark and attached it to the e-mail. As proof that my firewall isnt't blocking the traffic. No reaction to that, no technician was asked or involved, nothing. They simply closed the ticket and left me standing there. I'm still pretty pi...ed. This kind of "support" I don't want at all. Just a waste of time. I sincerely hope for a Google PlayStore replacement so one is not practically forced to use it. I'd volunteer to pay 1$ more for each buy just to circumvent that kind of nonsense Google is playing here.
This is me again. My problem is back, I can't download via WiFi from Google play store on both my Xperia play and Nexus 7. What is strange though is that SOME apps will download while others will not. It seems that apps I paid for some amount /like GTA 3, Max Payne, Reckless Racing/ and that were never completely free, WILL download. Others that I got for free /e.g. Call of Mini Zombies, Juggernaut, Heroes Call and many others/ will not download. This seems peculiar to me. Did anyone have this kind of behaviour on your android device?

Hi all, looking for a little help here.
My wife and I both have AT&T Galaxy S3 phones. We updated them both to Jellybean through Kies.
For some reason on my wife's phone, I can't update Google Now (google search). In the play store from her phone it says her device is not compatible. If I log into the play store from a computer, it shows her device is compatible but when I try to download it, it says oops and to try again later. I tried clearing cache and data on the phone but am still having the same issue.
I was able to update my phone to the new google now version with no issues.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately these phones are stock (not rooted) so I don't have the option to uninstall. If it why my phone I would just root and try your suggestion.
Sadly, that is a no fly zone for my wife.
Hey I had this issue last night but I did Mr Robinsons method with the rooted official JB he provided and I was able to update the Google now as you described.
Anyone else have any suggestions? I can't root her phone so I need a non-root alternative.
This issue seems to have just resolved itself today. Checked my wife's phone when I got home from work and it let me update no problem. Thank you to those that offered suggestions.

I get a "No connection" error in the Play Store on my ls970 LG Optimus G. I don't know how to fix it. I've disabled adblocker, factory resetted, make sure time is set right, logged out and back on Google account, flashed other roms but it just wont work. I haven't had access to it for over a month now. It says Sync error on all my Google accounts in settings with "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." at the bottom of the page. No method works. I just want to use Play Store again.

Yeah like BaNks Gapps.
I'm getting this too
I am also having trouble getting a connection to the play store and hangouts (Chrome finds it easily).
I just did a reset from a softbrick using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443185
I tried a backup version from my previous install, and also an apk from XDA (4.8.20), http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2227787
I had this happen before, but I did a Titanium Backup restore for the Play Store and that seemed to fix it, but after my reset using the LG Flash tool (see above), my phone won't root properly, so I can't get Titanium Backup to do a restore.
I've cleared my cache, I've installed new versions, reverted to stock, manually set date/time, used automatic date/time, done a factory reset.... can't get play store back.
Failed again.
I just tried the reset again, and again no connection in Google Play Store app. Bizarre.
Started working...
Put in information for my wiped EFS partition, filled ESN/MEID/IMEI info, maybe that started doing it? Doesn't seem like it would, especially since it was working with those all zeros, but it's working now....

I've had this phone for a month and during that time I performed factory resets twice for reasons unrelated to the Play Store. Before the resets the Play Store wouldn't automatically update. After the first reset it did update, but after the second reset it wouldn't update. I thought something might be screwed up on my phone so I just manually updated. I wasn't sure if anyone else was having the same problem.

Doing a factory reset may have messed with your Android ID. I think the best thing you can do is clear all data from the Play Store app, and then un-install all updates from it, reboot, and then open the Play Store again. Hopefully that would "reset" the update process, and give you the newest version.
Thanks to every one that try to help, I figured it out
I restored all my apps using titanium backup before setting up my google play store account, since TB backs up android ID as well, ones I restored my apps using TB, the google play store would not update itself because my android ID says it is updated to latest one all ready.
If made an error trying to explain my apologies goes for you all.

So how did you fix the problem? My playstore is not updating either and I'm fairly certain I didn't restore any of my apps with titanium the last time I used Odin to update to the latest stock firmware back in September. I am rooted if that makes a difference.
(EDIT) I now see how you fixed it. I read your answer incorrectly the first time by the way it was worded. But looking at it again today I understand. Thanks for your input.
