Hello friends.
I'm a noob and I'm confused about something.
I thought lollipop 5.1 build LMY47O.H6 was the latest version of lollipop HTC released for the GPE M8. Furthermore, I understood that no further lollipop released would be made by HTC. The next upgrade would skip directly to android M.
But a couple of weeks ago I started seeing threads about some people receiving an L-MR1 OTA upgrade.
Could anyone please shed some light to this L-MR1 update?

That is the thread that confused me in the first place.
My question remains. Are there two different H6 releases? An older non-L-MR1 release and a newer H6 L-MR1 one? My phone shows that I have lollipop 5.1 build LMY47O.H6. Is there something called L-MR1 thats newer, then?
Ask it there, there is a bigger base of people with that knowledge there than here.
What i mean is its probably better to ask there instead of opening a new thread ! The topic there is exactly related to your question.
Cheers.

I have been looking through the forum and threads but there are so many my head is starting to hurt!!
If anyone is willing to help me out then I'd be very greatfull, as I dont want to fry my handet.

the WIKI is a good source of info, there is also a guide here on how to upgrade, the process is pretty much the same for all WM6 ROMS

Is the Radio in the link newer than the official Vodafone release?
And, is the WM6 version the latest, as it seems there may be another version??
Hi Koldphusion, welcome to forum
Cannot answer the question about radio, as am on orange uk. Searching/reading Wiki should help with this though.
But the latest black rom is available on http://wmblack.info , 3 options, also there is a link there to Mr Vanx's upgrade guide which will walk you through upgrades.
Good luck
Hi there,
I have been searching for hours now. When will HTC bring out a new OFFICIAL rom? 1.93 is here already for months now, or well months, at least for a long time. Will HTC ever bring a new version? I hope so, because i still think HTC could improve a lot of things on our Diamond!
Thanks in advance!
Lol, not sure what you've been looking at. Doesn't seem you've been watching these forums, since there's been a 1.97 release by Vodafone UK, and a 2.00 release by a S. African telecom.
this is the latest rom
if you would have read before you posted you won't have needed to ask

To be fair to Sleehond, that is labelled up as a test ROM. According to this link, an official release is rumoured for January.
Question is simple. I installed the leaked JB updated for my Verizon GNex a few weeks ago (build JR0O30). Per screenshots I've seen of the OTA update, what I have appears to be identical...same build #, kernel version, baseband version.
Is there any benefit to me going back to stock ROM to get the OTA update for my device? Note: having access to future OTA updates would be something I'd consider a "benefit."
I tried searching for the answer to this question several different ways and failed. That said, I'm confident there's a thread out there that answers my question, so please feel free to paste a link to that thread and viciously berate me for my forum search failings.
Please mind if anything I write/do on this forum is wrong. This is my first ever post on a forum and I know barely nothing about rooting a phone.
Unfortunately the carrier on my HTC One X, Orange UK, has not released the Android 4.2.2, Sense 5 update yet - and it's most likely that they are not going to. So I am looking to root my phone in order to get this update. I did look at flashing a custom ROM at first, but I'd prefer to get the official version. I did find something on the internet about changing the CID on my phone by rooting it, so that I could receive the official OTA update straight from HTC. Can someone please give me the dumbed-down version on how to do this? I will very much appreciate it.
Edit : wrong thread !
Well you can install a sense 5 custom rom. That's the easiest. If you want to update officially then unlocking and rooting is not going to help. And changing your cid is also impossible.
Hi there,
First of all, this is an awesome knowledge base. Congrats.
Secondly: I'm new in XDA town - so please have some indulgence if I make any mistakes. In addition, English is not my first language.
Back to topic. A couple of days ago, I bought an AT&T branded Note 5 N920A with Lollipop 5.1.1.
I would like to flash it to Nougat. As far as I understand, I have to flash it to Marshmallow first. The recent software version on the phone is N920AUCS2APE3.
From my understanding, I need a dedicated update package from N920AUCS2APE3 to N920AUCU2BPE6. Everything is nicely described in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...ow-to-manually-update-to-marshmallow-t3380624
but unfortunately the links are dead.
What is still not clear to me is, whether or not any (=any AT&T) other update package would work too. I found a download for the Marshmallow N920AUCU2BPE6 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/at.../n920a-mm-odin-package-n920aucu2bpe6-t3415938) but I don't want to spend hours to try this out and then have to roll back to N920AUCS2APE3 because of a soft bricked phone.
I couldn't find any dedicated N920AUCS2APE3-to-N920AUCU2BPE6-file. Is there still any possibility to get this update done?
Cheers

No you don't have to flash Marshmallows first if you want to go to Nougat. You can use this thread to go strait to Nougat 7.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=71977275

I knew it wouldn't hurt to join that forum.
Thank you so much. I'll give it a try during the weekend.
