Hi guys,
i don't know if it's possible but i have the following question.
I have bought an htc one m9 but I think it's a romanian phone or whatever.
I want to change the language to netherlands but the language is not in the list (only english and some other languages like romanian or swedish or russian I think).
So the question is: can I change the firmware (original) so that i have the dutch language?.
And I mean the original firmware (with updates etc from htc).
So without using a custom rom.
Does anyone know if that's possible?
Thanks for the help guys

Go to settings, language and keyboard. Top option is language. You should see many options for Netherlands in that list.
No i don't have the dutch language there.
I only have polski, magyar, romania etc. And english. But that's my whole point.
Thanks for helping

Do you know whether the phone is running a custom rom or stock rom? Can you boot into download mode and tell us the CID and the firmware version (stated in the line with "OS" at the beginning")? Is the security flag on (S-ON) or off (S-OFF)?
Depending on your answers there might be different ways to help you out.
You should be able to download your local language pack from the play store.

I think you have to factory reset, and run the setup from zero. I bet you can select Dutch(Netherlands) then.
Hope that helps

Actually it should be stated right under the line with the security flag. The strange thing is, that you already run the international firmware which should contain the language you are looking for. If your firmware differed from x.xx.401.xx I would have suggested to unlock your bootloader via htcdev, root the phone and get S-OFF via the sunshine app. (After that you would have been able to flash any firmware version and not only those that correspond to your phone's SKU.) The next step would have been flashing a x.xx.401.xx RUU but since you're already running the correct firmware I actually don't know what to do... Sorry.

S-OFF is not needed for rooting and installing custom roms but you will have to manually fastboot flash the boot.img everytime you install a rom.

The combination of your firmware version and your CID tells you from which country the phone comes from. CID changes are only possible if you are S-OFF.

Just have a look at my signature. Another option would be to rename the RUU you want to flash to "0PJAIMG.zip", to copy it into the root direction of a micro sd-card which is not bigger than 32gb and formatted to fat32. If you put this sd-card into your phone and boot into download mode your phone will tell you what to do.
Edit: As long as your bootloader doesn't state something like "modified" or "relocked" the previous owner didn't tinker with that phone at all.

Just a little warning since I don't know how you think about that topic: Read the TWRP thread before you start flashing if you want to be able to receive upcoming firmware updates. The only other option for firmware upgrades is to get S-OFF via sunshine (which actually costs 25 USD since the developers need to refund the developement costs) and then fastboot or sd-card flash the newer firmware. From my experience not everyone here on xda is willing to pay that amount although it is actually worth the money if you consider how easy that method is.

I don't think it is a retail One X purchased in China. 1.26.401.2 is generic European version IIRC. You don't need to do anything with it. You're fine just using that version and should get updates before any of the carrier branded versions.
I've included the version of the ROM I'm on right now.

Ahh. I thought you were on that version now. Sorry. Misunderstood what you were asking.
At the moment, all you can do is unlock the bootloader at htcdev and flash a custom firmware. You can't apply an official HTC firmware or change the baseband firmware as the bootloader is still in S-ON mode.
Once/if somebody does work out how to put the bootloader in S-OFF mode then you can alter the CID and reflash it with an official US or European One X firmware.

So, I'm running Android Revolution HD 6.0 and I want to get back to stock...
My phone came with an Asian Rom of some sort and I have a Nandroid Backup.
I've tried to simply flash a Ruu "Europe_1.29.401.11" but it force close before any process start.
Do I have to get back to that stock, then relock the bootloader to do so???
Can I re-Unlock the bootloader if I need sometime??
It's my first HTC, I'm ok about using odin and rsd lite but never flashed any Ruu, so in HTC matters I'm pretty noob.
Thanks.

You have to re-lock bootloader to flash official RUUs, and you can unlock it everytime you want using the unlock.bin you get from HTCdev (on your mail).
But you have to be sure you are using the right RUU
Read the threads relating to ruu carefully. Pretty important.
One thing. You can't use any ruu. Your phone did have a Asian rom initially and so you need the ruu corresponding to that area. And if phone was branded, you need the ruu specific to that brand.
So like if you your phone was from Hong Kong region, you need Hong Kong specific and carrier specifi(if your hox was branded ) ruu.
One more thing, u can only use the ruu of your current os version.
So if you're on 1.29.11, you can't use ruu for 1.29.7
See stickies for in android development section for ruu.
Although I think re locking bootloader should be enough and you should be good to use ruu, do check it.
Not sure if it would require flashing stock rom or stock recovery.
Last thing... Why use ruu? It's probably the last thing you should do unless it's a try to reclaim warranty.
I just want to get my phone to a stock rom, that was why...
but I guess I'll just stick to custom roms, since the Ruu stuf is actually pretty scarring... I tought it was simple to do, since fhasing via odin was always fast and safe...
But that's ok!
Thanks!!!
So, that was my shipped Ruu...
Can I flash an European over it??

It's very simple really.
1. Find the correct RUU
2. Flash stock recovery(not 100% sure if needed, I did it though)
3. Relock bootloader
4. Run RUU while still in fastboot.

Hey Guys!
I wanted to put a custom rom on my wildfire s, kevinjoa's in my mind.
So i Started off by Reading the articles on how to unlock the WFS, to continue further.
I thought ill unlock by using the htc devs method, so i created an id there, etc etc, selected my device and then came across this
BEFORE beginning the Unlock Bootloader process your product requires that you update the ROM to the version listed in the table below first, then download the RUU next to it to enable the unlocking capability.
NOTE: If you do not find your ROM version in the table below, and your ROM version is newer, then your device does not require the RUU. Please bypass these steps and continue to the next page.

Please help me guys! what do u think should i do?
or do u think my ROM doesn't require an RUU update? can i bypass this step?

You require a higher HBOOT(a newer version), check if there is an OTA update..........or use an RUU
It's because the commands needed for unlocking aren't supported by older HBOOTs

For an RUU use a version that is higher and the closer to your country. For eg- If you bought your phone somewhere in Europe, use an EU version
You can always use the WWE(worldwide) version......But i'd recommend the EU one no matter where you are 'cause it is the most updated of all
csoulr666, bro i decided to go with either the europe WWE one, or Htc asia WWE one, cause the phone was brought from within asia.
another thing is , il download these RUU's from HTC Dev"s website itself right?
A little confused here
downloaded both Europe RUU which is around 6MB
Asia WWE RUU is like 25.5MB
downloaded from HTCdev.
How is it that when EU is Updated than the rest is smaller than that of the Asia'n RUU? :silly:

Hi guys,
need your help.
I have Europe M9, with S-ON.
Rooted it, and installed TWRP, installed custom rom.
How to revert it to full stock? I have sold the phone, and now buyer wants it back to way it were.
Thanks.
Thankfully it's pretty easy; just download your carrier specific RUU to restore to full stock. It's a Windows executable that completely wipes & return your phone to factory state.
I have bought it in Telenor Serbia it was on 1.32.401.15. Should I use any Europe RUU, or do I need to find one exact to match my carrier, and-or my firmware version?
sorry if being noob, but cannot understand this HTC's nonsense (s-on/s-off, cid, hboot...) thats the exact reason why I have sold it. to complicated for me...
I just want it up and running, and trust me, I will never EVER buy another HTC again.

Since there are two different versions of your firmware and I don't know which one is the correct one for you I would suggest you to use this firmware and downgrade to 1.32.401.8. This works because the aboot has not been updated until now. The process itself is very easy:
Download the RUU
Rename it to 0PJAIMG.zip (that's a zero at the beginning not an O)
Copy the file on an external SD card that is formatted to fat32 and not bigger than 32 gb
Boot into download mode
Follow the instructions that are shown on your M9's screen
Congratulation you are now back on stock rom and firmware
You have to use either this way or the fastboot flashing method since there are no RUU executables for the european version.
Btw: No one here forced you to buy the M9. Since it's simply a matter of taste it's up to you which device you choose. I personally prefer HTC's user friendliness in regard to bootloader unlock and rooting (compare it for example with Samsung's Knox system). But this is not the right place for that debate.
Edit: Since my phone is S-OFF I'm not completely sure but you might have to relock your bootloader or step 5 might no work properly.
I have the same problem, i wanna know how to restore it to full stock, i need it just in case something happens to phone and i need to use my waranty. I'm also on telenor serbia. Any detailed instructions would be much appreciated. And one more thing, will i be able to recevie OTA updates even though its rooted ?

Root by itself doesn't prevent OTAs, but changes to the recovery do. As far as I know, acquiring root (for this device) always involves flashing a custom recovery. So OTA aren't possible until the stock recovery is restored.
Do I need to have sd card, or can I flash it from pc using adb?
I have already tried this method, and fastboot gave me an error 22? Maybe I got wrong firmware. Will try again, thanks.

If you are S-ON you can only flash a RUU for your carrier and device. If that's the correct RUU for your phone, it will do it.

The question is where can you find correct RUU from specific carrier

There is a RUU list in the General forum. Not all configurations have RUUs, unfortunately, as it has always been with HTC.

By far the easiest way for the inexperienced is to use the windows exe version linked to a few posts ago .
If you're on 1.32.401.15 then simply flash 1.32.401.17 using the exe version. Simply run windows program and follow on screen prompts .
Main limitation if you're S on is it will only allow upgrade that is to go to higher number as described .
I think there is also a 1.32.401.8 exe but that's an earlier version so if you tried to use that and you were on higher version such as 1.32.401.15 then it wouldn't allow unless you had obtained S off.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Free mobile app
One more thing, i received lates OTA update, but it wont instal because recovery isnt stock. I found stock signed, when i flash it will the phone factory reset or not ?

and the firmware is from vomar guides - 4.16.401.10 no red text
then install skydragon v1.6.5
no services and cant place calls
any help plz what i can do ?
What was your version number before flashing the Euro firmware?
If you want Euro firmware, its probably best to run the 401 RUU (and "fully convert" to Euro), instead of trying to run AT&T software with Euro firmware.

You should know this. Its important to know the current firmware version, before flashing a new one. Note these important facts in the future.

After RUU, the phone will be fully converted to a Euro M8, including the ability to receive and install Euro OTA updates.

You need to provide more info.
What RUU and where did you get it from?
What was the failure message in detail? Did any of the partitions install (if so, which ones? and on what partition did it fail?)? Or did it abort before any installation?
What does "phone died" mean? Did it go dark right after you tried to RUU? Did it simply run out of battery? Did you try charging it? Does the screen come on at all if you hold the power button for 30 seconds or more?

I have no way of helping you with this, if you can't remember the reason it failed.
The link refers back to XDA, so it may be okay, but I really have no way of knowing if it really is or not.
The same RUU from reputable source is posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
Try running the RUU again, and note or do a screenshot of the error message(s).

Again, that doesn't really tell me what happened. No system means you were stuck on the HTC logo screen? Able to go into bootloader? No recovery at all, or back to stock recovery (red triangle with exclamation).

That is not the right version number for the AT&T version. Please clarify or correct it.
What you have now is a weird mix of hacked firmwares, custom ROM, etc.
So again, I think its best to do the official RUU to WWE (Euro) 401 "clean" fully stock baseline including all stock firmware, ROM, etc. Then see if that improves your signal problem, or troubleshoot from there.
ok i will install the ruu again
is that one is good ?

That isn't an RUU.
You need to get the link for the section labelled RUU.
