Google Fit seems to always have a notification on my watch of how long I've walked thus far in a day. How do I make that not take over 1/4 the screen but just be available when I swipe up instead?

It's in the android wear app on your phone. Click on the gear/settings icon and then your 360 and turn off card previews. Though that turns off all card previews.
So I can't just have it available when I swipe and not take up 1/3 of my screen? Will taking away card previews make my Google Now cards not appear when I swipe up?

All your notifications will still be there if you swipe up it just won't pop them up on the bottom of your main watch face to tell you they are there.

I still get the vibration notifications when I get emails and stuff if I disable that right? I use those.
You get all notifications they just won't pop up when viewing the watch face. If your phone is set to vibrate on a specific notification your watch will vibrate and show it. Turn the setting off and test it by sending yourself an email or something.

Anyone know if its possible to hide the white band that has the latest notification from watch face? There are times where I dont want to dismiss the notification (because I may want to reference/follow up with it later), But that white band takes away from the watch face. I can post a pic if it will help to illustrate what I am talking about.

Boo!
I dont want to have to dismiss them cause then I can just swipe up and seem them anyways... I dont need a white bar AND a notification count icon too...
In ambient mode, the card becomes black or dims and you can see the card along with the dimmed watch face, however, the card is still there obstructing. So not sure if that's the answer you want lol.
This flaw in Android Wear has me considering returning my 360. Once you dismiss a notification it's gone for good. There should be a way to hide or snooze them.
In the wear app you select hide cards on dimmed screen.. If you're in ambient mode that would most of the time. That's about the best you can do.
Hey guys, I wasn't sure if this warranted it's own thread, but I think it does since there's no "Ask Any Question!" sticky like some of the big boards.
Anyway, when listening to music through Pandora, I have a persistent notification allowing me to pause/play my music from my Moto 360. Can I turn it off? Notifications are very large and block the face so I can't tell the time. Normally, I'm okay with swiping others away, but this one is persistent. I tried adding Pandora to the notification mute list in the Wear app, but that didn't work. I can mute all notifications, that's not what I'm after. Can I just turn off music control somewhere?

Go to Android Wear app on your phone, select the Cog Gears (Settings) icon on top right corner. Select first option "Mute app notifications", select Pandora or any apps you don't want notifications to be pushed to your watch. Done!

Is there a way to disable ALL notifications? I dont see a reason to get notifications on my watch when I always have my phone on me. I guess you could say I got it for an advanced watch, not another gadget to notify me of e-mail, etc

You can just pull down from the top of the watch until it vibrates and says "Mute" then you won't get any notifications until you repeat those steps to unmute it
For some reason, this trick doesn't work with tune in radio
Really?

Ummmm, you did know it was a smartwatch when you bought it? If your not using it, as a smart watch, then I don't see the point of you owning it... Just saying.

Wanting to get rid of a persistent notification that bothers him hardly puts him in the category of not using it as a smartwatch.
Even if you turned off all notifications, it's still a smart watch, it runs apps, responds to voice queries, keeps your phone unlocked, etc...

Remember during initial setup when it asked you to activate the Android Wear notification listener service? Undo that. Then it has no idea when you have a notification.

This doesn't work for Spotify either. Are there any other idea's?
Just adding my voice... it's a really annoying 'feature' of Android Wear (or Wear OS, as it now seems to be called).
I went through and I disabled every single notification (about 300 or so of them) and the media notification still appears, and doesn't time out. This is annoying because it lights up the screen which eats through my battery. Why can't it auto-hide itself LIKE EVERY OTHER NOTIFICATION?
Grrr....
Every morning, and sometimes throughout the day, I get this notification telling me how many minutes to work. I haven't set a work location, and I have all settings turned off that I can see in Google, so I'm wondering how I can actually disable this annoying and useless feature.
Anybody know?
You can try and clear the data for Google now and reactivate it. Do you have a home location set?
I'd like to turn off Google now cards showing up on my watch because when I swipe away the weather, I lose card on my phone.

Sounds like there is an update that is coming with Lollipop that will allow you to bring back cards you swiped away. For now, instead of swiping away cards just swipe down to hide them.

Thanks!
View the card in google now on your phone, you can click the 3 dots in the corner of the card to enter the notification option for that particular card and permanently dismiss it.
You can also turn off card preview in android wear settings.
Ok, thanks for the advice. I had already turned the notifications off for that particular card in Google, but for some reason it kept showing. I just clicked it again, so I'll see if it sticks this time.
Android wear 5.o coming soon to solve this issue

Updated to wear 2 last night. I get all notifications on the watch no problem but if I don't look it at the notification right away there is NOTHING on the watch screen to tell me that I have unread notifications.
So I basically have no idea if I have texts unless I swipe up from the bottom to check. THIS SUCKS if that's how wear 2 handles missed notifications.
Can someone confirm? Wear 1.5 used to leave a bit of the notification at the bottom of the watch as a reminder that there are some.
Note: I have my notification set to High (Always show) but nope, not always showing.
If you go into (Settings -> Sound & notifications -> Notification previews) you can set it to High so notifications stay on screen.

As I mentioned in my post above. I have e it set to High but it doesn't do anything different. I restarted the watch too and still. Notifications come in and disappear until I swipe up to check if I have any.
Anyone else have this issue? Can someone post picture of how a notification will be waiting on the watch? It is like 1.5 where it stays shown at the bottom of the screen so you are aware you have a notification?
Sadly on AW 2.0 there is no notification reminder anymore

On the dev preview, it behaved just like you describe-notifications vanishing even when set to high.
On final 2.0, well, it is broken too Sometimes notifications stays on screen..it is in full screen ambient, showing the content of notification, with small time at the top. But sometimes, it just vanishes

Is this really true? OH MY GOD, what good is a smart watch if that is gone? All I used mine for was to have a quick peak to see if I have pending notifications and then grab my phone to read or respond. So now I have to check my phones to see if I have missed notifications?

Going to rescind my last post. Sometimes the notification will stay, sometimes it won't. Might be when I get multiple notifications, but not really seeing the pattern yet. Not having a "nag" to the notification is wildly frustrating. If I check (down swipe), the notification are there. But that means I have to check.

No. Swipe up on your watchface to see whatever notifications may be waiting for you, as you mentioned in the OP. Not as convenient as them just being there, but more convenient than taking out your phone.

How is that better than how it was on n 1.5? The idea of a smart watch is to see notifications at a glance and not having to check manually every time. I might as well do that on the phone then. This is beyond frustrating to me.

It's not. Most the apps I use are mainstream and well-supported, so the setting to always display notifications works for me in most cases. I suspect that as app authors get around to updating their apps to the new 2.0 standard, most others will work as well.
Someone asked how the "high" notification looks like:

Well the frakking problem is, they had 1 year to do that thanks to devprev, but after all that time, whole 2.0 seems like it has just been created.
I'm not sure why others are having issues with notifications. On my HW1 that I upgraded from 1.5 to 2.0. I am NOT set to High and if I have notifications that I missed, there is a small white dot at the bottom of the screen telling me I have notifications. Works with all my apps that allow on my watch. Maybe I'm missing something here.

I'm not wearing the watch today at work. Wearing job-issued iWatch, but will try to send it when I get home tonight. I don't have any special apps. The only app I use is Feel the Wear to have select notifications (GMail) use an audible tone, when I get a new GMail. Otherwise, my notifications vibrate when I'm wearing the watch for select others. This dot is the same as I see on my LG Watch Sport, which I rarely wear -- too damn big.

No notifications here, either, despite being set to high. There are supposed to be dots....thought I just might be not seeing it or something... A few lines down to the below noted link - on Google's own site - alludes to said dots that I have yet to see appear on my Huawei.

Hi guys!
In the past I had an Android watch, a Pebble, several Samsung watches... The best one so far was Android.
Samsung Galaxy watch would be almost perfect if it hadn't this stupid "feature"
In short, the notification dot on the watch is there to notify you when there are unread notifications on the watch, not on your mobile phone. One would say, so what, that's not a problem...
Figure this - if you have the " turn screen on" and "show notification details" options on, then everything you get on your watch gets dismissed immediately! How stupid is that??
Is there a workaround for this, am I the only one bothered by this?
I love how Android wear has this solved. Not only that you have a notification on your watch persistent until you dismissed it on your phone or your watch but also it shows details in a form of cards...
Same settings on my watch. Notifications don't get deleted
Mine do not get deleted too. However, if you clear the notification on your watch it does remove it from your phone too.

so easy just go to notification settings in the galaxy watch app and remove the toggle beside the turn on screen option. its useless anyways. if its on, the the orange dot wont appear because it auto dismisses it by design.

I do like those two options, so I can immediately see the notification on my screen without touching it..... but the only interaction at that point is to scroll up or down to read the notification details or touch the three-dots on the right and select "Clear Notifications" If I clear notification, then that's what happens... notification gone (it would be nice if I could just swipe sideways to clear, because for some notifications I have to then scroll to the bottom of a list of options to select clear notifications). If I don't "Clear Notifications" and ignore it, then the notification disappears from the watch screen, The watch goes back to displaying the watch face, there will NOT be an orange dot on the watch face, but the notification will be in my watch's notifications queue for me to look at later, AND the notification will be on my phone.
Seems like that's about exactly how I want it.
I have "Mute connected phone" set in the Wearable app notifications settings, because if I am wearing my watch, I want the watch to be what notifies me; not my phone. Also, I have the new OneUI on the watch.
Same problem here. I'd like to have notifications to be persistent until I explicitly dismiss them. On my Galaxy watch a notification disappears after I saw it. Is there some setting? Thanks!
So I just got the galaxy watch 5 and had this problem. I found that some how my phone got put in do not disturb. Once I turned that off all my notifications came up.
