[Q]Cannot sync source code. - Paranoid Android Q&A

Hello,
I'm building this ROM for my device and at the stage of syncing the source code, I encountered two errors which made my sync exit. They were:
1) gnutls_handshake() failed: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received.
2) unable to access source.google.com

I know this is the wrong place for posting this, but I haven't got good help over the internet so I tried to seek some help in here.
I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Help with error, object invoked has disconnected from its clients

Hi all, I am just getting started in developing a very simple app (Hello World) and when I try to run it I get the following error:
The object invoked has disconnected from its clients
The project builds fine but when I run it I get the error. Any ideas on how to solve this? I am using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and downloaded the developer tools from Microsoft site (vm_web).
Thanks in advance, Onam.
do you get that when you attempt to launch the application in the emulator? if so, how much ram do you have? you require a minimum of 1.5GB for the emulator to run properly. I'm not sure why, but this is one of the things I ran into and was a suggested solution. I personally haven't tested it, but it did stop my virtual machine (currently set to 1GB) from running the phone emulator.

Problems Building JB-CM10

I'm attempting to learn to build from github, and have followed hashcode's directions on the KFire-Android local manifest for jb-CM10. I've even gone back and verified I have initialized and set up my build environment correctly. I am having problems syncing the repo's. I get to 38%, and get a "fatal: Unable to look up github.com (port 9418) (Name or service not known)" error. Could this be a firewall issue?

[Q] Logcat error when developing

Hello everybody,
i flashed Skydragon ROM on my htc one x, but qhen I try to use logcat (I'm learning how to develop on android) while executing an application on my phone, it gives me the error "unable to open log device '/dev/log/main' no such file or directory", i looked for the solution on the web and i found many solutions, but none of them works.
I also read that there are some ROMS wich have default logging disabled (or something like this), do you know how to re-enable logging? thank you!

Debugging with GDB

Hi,
I have been working on getting an app built with NDK and I have the visual studio environment working, compiling, deploying, and debugging with my Samsung GS3. I just bought the new Nexus 7, and when I try to debug, it gives me:
Failed to attach: Failed to start debug server on device: run-as: Package 'com.biotic.appstub' is unknown.
The pulling files step seems to completely bypass then I get the above message. I have googled and not found anything particularly helpful yet. My device is now rooted as well, which also didn't help.
I can explore the storage on the Nexus and see my app there, and I can execute it manually.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Paul

This is working now. I had to install an ADB rooted ROM and it worked first time!
