Hi guys. I recently purchased a FTVS and have installed the Mupen64 emulator. I'm having a heck of a time getting the Amazon Game Controller to map properly. I'm trying to map it for Mario64 and I've gotten everything to work sort of except for the "up" controls. If I map either the Dpad or Analog direction up, then it acts as if the button is always pressed and Mario runs around non stop. If someone could please share their correct settings to map the Amazon Game Controller for Mupen64 I'd be forever grateful. Currently this is the input device settings I'm using in the "input devices" folder. I found this information here on the Mupen forums, but there is no other help there that I can find....

No one is using Mupen64 on this thing? Really?

I have my Evo running an AOSP ROM and I have PSX4DROID, SNES, Gameboid, N64oid as my emulators. I went out yesterday and purchased a WiiMote (just the remote) but apparently that isn't enough.
I will mainly be using it for N64 (have to get my Zelda fix) and Mario Kart 64. I tried opening Mario Kart 64 and mapping the keys. I mapped all the keys and when I launched the game I could not turn with the D-PAD on the Wiimote.
I successfully paired the with WiiMoteController (app) but it won't turn left or right. I can do everything else but it kind of defeats the purpose.
Questions
Should I be mapping the keys within the N64 emulator app (what I've been doing) or map the keys in the WiiMoteController app?
Do I also need to buy the Nunchuck attachment?
Is it possible to just have the WiiMote and use that for my gaming?
Is there a Wii Controller attachment that I can slide my Wiimote into to turn it into a full fledge controller?
Why don't the Rom Gripper & Rom Gripper ++ download any ROMs? Are the servers down?
I'm confused and frustrated as I was trying all night to play around with it. I also want to mention that I didn't have success in the Zelda app either.
Wii-mote alone doesnt have sufficient buttons for the N64. Really its lacking to even cover the SNES.
Mostly I game using GBA, because of this. To combat it, you can get the classic controller plugin - http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Classic-Controller-nintendo/dp/B000IN0BSU
Which plugs into the wiimote, and should map through the WiiMoteController app, though I havent tried to see for sure. Personally I want it totally portable, and dont want to have to carry a third thing. I wish they would just make a wireless wii classic controller to work on its own. But alas...
Another problem you may be encountering with N64 and PSX, is mapping analog to digital. You are familiar with the analog controls of the original, but as I understand it, you can only map the classic controller as keyboard input, which turns them into digital control (full on, full off, like a keyboard button press). For many games that wont matter, but for many it will. Just another consideration.
Don't know anything about romgripper though, I only backup my games that I have bought with tools built from scratch

you mean the Datel Retro wireless controller? That's what I bought. Think of it as a classic controller with the wiimote built inside
http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Retro-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B001ULJGDU
I laugh at everyone getting a wiimote + classic controller for use with their phones, lol. Who the hell wants to carry that around?
Hell, I don't even use the datel controller that much (thank god I have a wii to use it with as well). Like I'm going to carry a controller with me everywhere I go, seriously.
I just choose games that work well with touchscreen controls (like strategy games and rpgs)
So do you recommend me getting a nunchuck along with my WiiMote or returning the Wiimote and buying the Datel?
I downloaded the ROM before (I do own all the games I downloaded) and I only care about those 2 games.
well getting a nunchuck isn't really going to solve your problem of not having enough buttons for N64 and PSX games...
and about the controller still not working after you mapped the buttons, you still have to switch to the controller in the standard Android input settings (like switch away from an onscreen keyboard) AS WELL as enabling the "input option" within the emulators. Like in Gameboid, if you go into "other settings" you will find an input option that you have to toggle (in addition to simply mapping the keys in the controls section).

I get 5 to 10 emails/PMs a day about this, you're going to want to get the Datel Retro Wireless. Wiimotes are only good for NES and Sega Master System.
Hello guys,i have tried tons of application such as tincore keymapper to be able to play mc4 but no luck. Both analog works fine natively, i have problem when aiming down sight. Upon button press it aims and unaims instantly....how do i use ipega....i just need to be able to map the fire and ADS button to the shoulder buttons on the ipega. Thx!

Multiplayer games depend on what you like. My son & I are enjoying Bombsquad and justo got Sev Zero. For having friends over the You Don't Know Jack Party & Fibbage is alot of fun and Asphalt 8 is pretty good.
So far, I have MAME4droid (0.139u1) working OK on some roms but better yet I have Nostalgia.NES working pretty damn good. Was able to map the keys on my NYKO PlayPad Pro and I'm happy with it.
Still have plans to try a few more emulators, but am happy with playing SMB & Galaga on Nostalgia.NES

Does Nostalgia support two controllers on AFTV? That'd be sweet to be SMB with a friend.

I havent had any luck getting Nostalgia NES to map. Even trying to use a mouse and keyboard to move to the button Im trying to map, I cant get it to map nor can I get any games to launch. Maybe it doesnt like the Amazon controllers.
snes9xex works great and buttons map well.
epsxe works great too, buttons map well, I've been playing two player ps1 games on it using a ps4 controller and the firetv controller.
Im losing my mind trying to map these controllers to work with emulators. Can someone explain to me like Im 3 how to map these damn Fire controllers and get the sticks, etc to work? My latest attempt was ePSXe. I can get the buttons and the analog pad to work but I cant get the sticks to work. Ive yet to get any emulator to the point I can actually play it and Ive messed with pretty much every one out there... Id be deeply grateful if someone could give me mapping for ePSXe, Nostalgia NES and Snes9xex.
Im seriously regretting not buying a controller that actually has profiles in these things. Im about to throw a controller through the TV.

on epsxe I've got my left stick X analog mapped to Axis X, left stick Y is mapped to Axis Y, right stick X is mapped to Axis RX, and right stick Y is mapped to Axis RY. L2 trigger is Axis_brake and R2 is Axis_gas. go to 'preferences', then 'player 1 input preferences', then 'map axis'.
PPSSPP works fantastically. I spent the entire day yesterday playing Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on it. Plus you can upscale the graphics so it looks even better than the ps3 version.

Just bought a ouya controller ($17.99) at bestbuy online. I like old emulator games and sports games, but up until now haven't done much gaming on fire tv. I noticed NHL2k15
Has anyone tried this on fire tv? Also if there are any other games like NBA2k14 or 15 let me know if they work well on aftv. What I mean is are they made for touch screen devices? If so is there a way to make them playable with the controller. I have NBA 2k14 but as far as I can tell it's a touch screen version that works fine on my son's tablet but I can't find a way to change the settings to work with the ouya or any other gamepad.
Really it's an open question and any info is good and appreciated. Thanks.

The only way around this I can think of is if you had root on your AFTV. You could try using an application called tincore keymapper which would enable you to map physical buttons as touchscreen gestures. Also, there are some good sports games available to play via emulators. Try using a Playstation emulator such as Espxe or FPSE. Theres lots of sports games for that.
Hi Guys,
So after reading a few threads/reviews I decided to bite the bullet and buy the Nyko ProPad for my emulator needs. I'm currently using RetroArch namely the SNES emulators at the moment, the app seems to auto configure the pad which is great, but there seems to be some keymapping issues especially the start button (which is used fr the game app's options/GUI). This prevent me from starting any of the games i've tried (apart from Mario Cart which seems to start with the A button and works fine..)
Has anyone else had similar problems and may have overcome them?
I know there is nightly version of RetroArch where you can use customer .cfg files which may help.. I'm not sure anyone with any experience?
(just noticed the title should read "Playpad Pro"!)
EDIT - I have now tried this with N64 which i seemed to be able to play fine as i didn't need to use the 'start' button the start the actual game play (golden eye & mario Cart 64)
