Hey guys, I'm new here. Please let me know if I posted in the wrong section. Recently installed nowiz rom so I can continue to use my smartdock. I have tried countless other roms but found nowiz with jellybean to work almost flawlessly on the phone and smartdock. The only issue I have is that when it's on the dock and I use my logitech keyboard and mouse, a huge jellybean character is in place of the tiny cursor. I have the laptops, and I plan on using this dock instead for most of my stuff. How do I change the cursor on an aosp rom in jellybean? I can't find any info on that subject. Anyone else have these problems in the past when running jellybean? I know it's an older rom, but I actually like it. I've ran just about every other one on here and had something not work right. Also, anyone know of any other touchwiz based roms available?

it is just like swype, just looks like the normal default android keyboard. i do like how the word pops up while you are swyping it. seemed buggy on literom, would hang a lot when backspacing
That was neat. It's nice to see Google incorporate stuff like this straight into android. Likewise to the new quick toggles. However, I ran into a couple freezes that were bad enough to ruin the experience. Possibly because I'm still running ics.

I love this keyboard and have it running on my ICS tablet just fine. I have tried this on two different Captivate Glides running CM10 beta 1, UCALJ3 by dbrannon79 and the UCALG leak with stock kernel as well as the lite kernel and on all of them it will run for a minute then freeze.
Is this running stably for anyone? I'd love to figure out why this won't work.
probably due to the samsung integration in the os ... u'll notice that it doesnt freeze in every app.... it freezes in stock sms app ... but also in handscent :s ... makes it kinda useless in ICS for me ....

I am having few issues with this keyboard sometimes..
Suddenly after few strokes the keyboard vanishes.. Do not get any error message..
Tapping near the blinking cursor also does not work.. I need to wait atleast 20-30 seconds for the keyboard to re-appear..
Not able to use Swype or Swype Beta Also.. Keyboard is crashing..
After downloading the zip and moving it to the phone, what exactly needs to be done? I figured it would just be an .apk file to install rather there are other folders as well.. Thank you!

Well first off you need to have a rooted device.
Step 2 u need to go into your recovery mode which is cmw or tdmb.
Then like any other file you are going to install it but not as an apk but as a zip file. So go to the location where you have the zip file downloaded in the install menu then just flash it. If you have any problems message me.

Hey guys im wondering if theres a rom that is exactly like the s3 or Note 2? Im talking about the way the OS looks and acts. icons, dial pad, txt, etc etc. Can you guys tell me one of this builds available that can be stable and smooth and looks like the s3?

Look at the ROMs OP [original Post or post 1 of any ROM thread] that will list how the ROM differs from stock and/or the adjustments made by the developer to the ROM and those ROMs that include S3 or Note based apps will state that. There are more and more doing it and you should be able to copy those same apps in to like ROMs [say you have a JB ROM and it has the app you want and another JB ROM you want to use does not] you could then copy the apk over and in a lot of cases it should work [it may not if the ROM is AOSP or AOKP those refer to different code bases and you may find some of the apps will like one or the other.
There are also threads in some cases if you search that offer up just the apps and state what they would work with.
As a last ditch you could download a Note or S3 ROM and open the zip [DONT FLASH IT TO YOUR DEVICE] and got in to system directory in zip go to apps and copy the apks you want from it and move them to the ROM you want to try them in. Worst comes to worst if it gives you issues use a root capable file manager and delete those apps that don't work.
OF COURSE, run appropriate backups as this really should not break your install, but on the totally off chance somehow it does it is better to be safe than sorry when just learning.

I was looking at the Embryo Roms and there are two of them one says 6.3 and the other 6.1.1 i saw in the 6.3 there are some issues with call eco and other stuff, and saw in the 6.1.1 that it has some of the features giving problems cause they are experimental, wich one do you guys think i should give it a try?

I think you are referring to the flash bar as experimental and thats because multi-window has not been implemented. I use 6.1.1 and its beeen the best 4.1 Jelly bean rom so far from my experience. Or you can do what that guy above me said and have a much smoother experience.

I have been looking for just the right ROM, but I haven't had any luck finding it myself.
Can someone give me recommendations as to which 4.2 ROM would be the best?
I still want the TouchWiz widgets like S planner and S note, and multiview because I use them on a daily basis.

Just to expand on this a bit.. You will not find the ROM you're looking for because one does not exist. Samsung has not released 4.2 for Note 2 - so there are no sources available for anyone to build on.
The apps/widgets you're requesting only work with Touchwiz frameworks - so no 4.2 from Samsung = no 4.2 from anyone else with those features.
I'm using the Sprint Galaxy SIII and for 2 days I've been searching and trying different keyboards looking for one comparable to the keyboard in cm 10.1. The emojis worked great on that. Since switching back to stock rooted touchwiz I haven't found anything that works as well. I've tried stock Android keyboard because that's what's everyone is saying works, but when I go to settings to add dictionary, there is no dictionary option for me to use to try to add emojis. I know someone will probably say browse the threads but I've done that for 2 days and haven't had any luck so if someone can just point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. If you've used cm 10.1 that keyboard with those emojis would be perfect.

I am looking for ROM recommendation. I haven't rooted the phone yet. I'm fine with stock but am looking for a few things important to me:
- 64GB card support
- S Voice
- S Pen
- Hotspot/Tethering
What ROM would you say would be best? I've rooted my HTC EVO and EVO 3D in the past and remember there were tweaked versions of stock rom available but I don't see that for the Note 2.

I haven't tried Hotspot/Tethering, but MacksROM All-Star is still Wiz based. Has multi-window, S-Pen, S-Voice and all that. I have a 32GB card so I can't speak to 64GB support, but just check out its thread in the Android Development and you should have your answer.
If you rooted and flashed roms on your htc, then you should remember how all the best rom and recommendations went. They are closed. Look through the op of a few. Picks one you want to try and flash

I didn't like any of the ROMS, so I just used stock rooted and deodexed then downloaded the mods I wanted. Found native hotspot tethering mod, modded multi window, saber kernel, 4 in 1 reboot. Most of the mods are in the themes and apps section of the Note 2 forum. I found this worked best for me.

the wifi tether apk by TrevE in the app store works well for hotspot.
