It seems that the link to find all of my own posts has disappeared from the list under my profile. Did it get completely removed or did it move someplace else?
I have been looking and can't find it.
Thanks
I already tried using the search feature and it just shows me the thread that I have posts in - it will not take me to my last post...
Finally a question on XDA I can actually answer! Click on your own name above one of the posts, then click on the "Statistics" tab next to "Visitor Messages." There should be an option to view all of your posts, starting with the most recent.
click your name where it says "Welcome, brynwall", then click on the statistics tab, then click on "Find all posts by brynwall"
awh man he beat me..
or try this
I use the the quick links on top right of the screen, then click subscribed threads, it will show if any new posts have been added,
FYI you are automatically subscribed if you reply to a thread or you can just add the thread by going to thread tools...
Awesome! Thanks guys! lol I was going insane trying to find my last posts.
It's funny because you use to be able to access all your posts from User CP tab as well, but right now I can't anymore. Strange but not a problem because I always knew about the many other ways of finding my own posts. Just thought I would jump in here.

Yeah, that was the only way I knew how to do it, and it was there yesterday...
When I saw I can no longer find my own posts, I feared the worst Putting the option in "Statistics" is unintuative at my opinion.
Anyhow, will use it from now.
Thanks
i have started a thread a week ago in HTC Elf: Touch GSM section ,
i was trying to help other member with dead " tricolor screen " phones , as this forum helped me alot ,
now can i know what did i do wrong to get my thread deleted after 3 days of working on it ?
wbr,
Hi, I've taken a look and I can only see 3 other threads started by you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316726
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317266
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416687
I can also see deleted threads, or any moved to restricted forum areas.
Do you have any more details on the thread?
Dave
thank you for reply
i posted it in this section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=374
and i remember clearly that my thread was viewd 38 times but there was still no replies
about the details it was posted like a week ago , and it was about dead elf phones and how i managed to revive mine , the thread title was
** Tutorial ** ELF tricolor repair [thats how i revived mine ]
or something like that
i've mentioned olipro in my thread but in respectfull way , maybe he was mad and deleted it .
wbr,
It's been merged with another thread. I cannot at this moment pin point the audit trail for it, so I am not sure which mod it was, to ask them the reason.
I think it makes sense to keep the "How to get out of bootloader" threads together.
Here's it's new home : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347700
Dave
thanks DaveShaw for your help , i thought it was deleted completely , i didnt notice its moved/merged
i hope some one can benefit from it and i wanted to give something back as i toke alot from this forum
thanks again and have a nice day
It's normally best practice to either notify the OP, or leave a re-direct of a week or so, so that is can be found. I sometimes forget that not everyone subscribes to every thread they post in - I do that and if any of my threads are merged it's pretty easy to track .
I'll bring this up in the mod forums.
Dave
Hi all,
So here lately, my "vies first un read button has not been working, forst on Energy's rom thread and now on Dutty's rom thread.
It actually has not been working on Energy for some time, it will just take me to the very last post and not the post where I last left off.
Then as I had started to get more and more involved on Dutty's rom thread, (it is much smaller), it was working fine and now that one too just takes me to the last post when I hit the view last read button, maybe it is a size of thread thing, I dont know but I have also tried both the XDA classic and the new 2010 page view selector.
Is anyone having this issue? It is on multiple computers that this occurs, both at home and at work.
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, they both do currently have a poll, and I can remember for sure if this was happening with Energy before the poll or not. I will hunt around for another long thread that does not have a poll to see if it works there too.
THanks,
Jeff

I'm also experiencing the problem on the TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 thread which also has a poll. Clicking on "View first unread" always beams me to the last post.
What actually works for me is the Xda Premium Android app. It correctly shows the first unread post on the very thread where the website always directs me to the last one.
Is there any solution available yet to get this working using the website?
I'm getting this as well on the following forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957291
I'm having this issue as well. Anyone know a way around it?
I am getting this problem too in this topic and it also has a poll.
Sorry to kick this, but "View First Unread" doesn't seem to be working for me on any thread I previously visited. It just takes me to the last page all the time.
I was working fine until a few days ago...
What can I do? Clean cookies maybe?

+1 to that.
I have no idea how this "view first unread" is working..or is supposed work.some1 care to explain?
It's works perfectly in the app and that is how one wants it here too.
Also wish it was the default view instead of 'Last Page'

It works fine for me in Chrome, and always did in Firefox. What browser are you using? Have you changed your view (under Display Mode)?

chrome and linear mode.
ok, it's working fine today.
thanks
I'm having problems with View First Unread on numerous threads on XDA, and I can tell you what the problem is: it's threads where moderators have deleted posts.
There seems to be an error in the forum code, where the indices of unread posts are adjusted incorrectly for a given thread. The more posts deleted from a thread, the further off the unread count goes (and it can be off by multiple pages).
What's weird is that it isn't what you'd expect -- you don't get shown a post later than that you last saw as "first unread". It actually rolls backwards. If a mod deletes ten posts from a given thread, I will then see the last ten posts I'd already read being marked as unread. If they delete 40 posts, my unread count will be off by 40 posts (and I'll have to skip forward four pages from the supposed "last unread" to get to a post I've not seen before.)
And once the unread count is off, it stays off, only changing if a moderator deletes more posts. If ten posts are deleted, and then the thread is never moderated again, I could come back in six months after hundreds more posts have been made by others and I've read them, and my "last unread" will still be off by a page.
It's a frustrating bug, because the threads where you most need the "last unread" feature are the ones that are tens or hundreds of pages long -- but those are also the threads where tens of posts have been deleted, and so every time you go to last unread you'll have to then manually skip forward one or more pages to get to the first post you've not seen a dozen times or more.
Hello, all.
First of all, let me say that I did not make the decision to create a thread lightly. I have been a member of this forum for over a year, and this is my first post. I have looked everywhere, but cannot find this simple answer.
How do I thank a member for his/her excellent work? Specifically, I have been trying to thank twa_priv for his excellent Kindle Fire JB build, which I have been using fr the last week or so. I cannot find a thank button. I do not have permission to post in the thread; (which I do not have any intention of doing, anyway, unless I have a specific question or error to report) but, does that mean I do not have permission to thank? Do I need to spam away 9 more posts to have the right to thank someone? I read that there should be a picture of a flower (or, at least, there would be on Tapatalk, which I am not using), but don't see anything of the sort using Chrome on Ubuntu.
Thank you in advance.

Hey, and you even hit it. Awesome! Perhaps you just need someone to reply to one of your posts to activate it initially? I learned something today.
Give thanks
left side there is a thanks button
To activate the thanks button, you need atleast one post as a member...

And thanks to a.cid for posting how to be a new user. I read that a while back, before I ever joined xda. :banghead:

That's exactly the information I was looking for. The link was helpful, too. You may have noticed that I gave a disclaimer to my post. I have been using this forum for thirteen months without ever having posted anything. I felt like a total jerk for even having had to create a thread for something so trivial. I usually search and easily find the answer to any question, but was not finding anything about this. I am certainly trying not to be obnoxious to anyone. Thanks again!

We need more members who know how to search for answers. The fact that you made it 13 months without posting is impressive.
Thank you all for this post. Had I searched a day or two earlier, it probably would have been a lot harder to find this info.
Moved to About XDA section.
hopefully this solves it
I have the same problem. Hopefully this first post of mine will reveal the illusive thanks button

[GUIDE] How to be a New User (and not a noob)
Trying to be a good new user I searched for how to give thanks and found this thread instead of spaming other threads with "Thanks for posting" Appreciate the clarification on why I couldn't see the thanks button.
Thank YOU!
I actually joined this site just to thank someone who posted an updated app, but wasn't sure how until I saw this.
Feels like a lot of hoops, but hopefully it's worth it.
It's at the bottom-left of the post . I don't have it at first but after my first post , *poof* it's there and available XD
Thanks for the thread as I also want to be able to give people their just due.
Just in addition:
On Tapatalk and XDA app, just long-press the post you want to thank for, then scroll a little bit to the right in the appearing actions menu and select "Thanks" (may be in your system's language).
Enable thanks button by having a post
This is my obligatory first post to enable the thanks button. Figured this was the best thread to do it.
I'm not a forum noob by any stretch but all others I've been on over the years have some way to display all the threads I posted in, and mark them bold if they have an update I haven't seen yet.
I have yet to find this on xda and it's getting old, even after only a few days, to go from forum to forum and check for updates to any threads I contributed to. What am I missing?
ETA: I'm looking for something like "display all subscribed topics" in a shortcut form somewhere. I really don't want to have to do this through advanced searches. It kills the entire intent of getting a quick overview of updates.
I found the issue. Apparently contributing to a thread doesn't add that thread to your subscribed threads list. This is a (pita, very unfortunate) manual step you have to do per thread if you want to keep up with the thread. I'm very surprised it has to be this way, but so be it.
If anyone knows of a way to change this on a per-user level please let me know.

Change your settings to auto-subscribe to every thread you post in. That way if you post in one that you don't want to track you can just choose to unsubscribe from it.
Go to your User Control Panel. Under 'Settings & Options' select 'Edit Options'. Then look for the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" setting - I recommend you set it to "No email notification"

If you want to see all of your participated threads in the browser view, go to the Advanced search, enter your username, make sure "Search All Open Forums" is selected under Search in Forums, leave everything else alone. Your results are displayed as threads in chronological order of last reply to that thread. The last reply of any member, not just you.
