Guys, I just bought an Aukey 5-port Qualcomm certified quick charger. It had very good reviews. Plus it is qualcomm certified. But the thing is when I connected with LG G4, nothing actually happened. No notifications of detecting quick charger nor any definitive improvement on charging as my device was already charging fast enough. But I really want to be sure about that my G4 supports quick charging & it's enabled as well I wanna know if my charger has any defect.
So can anyone gimme any suggestion what can I do? Plus is there any app which can tell me if my G4 is connected with a quick charger?? I am using Gsm Battery Monitor which just says AC adapter connected, neither I could really differentiate by Ampere app. So guys, help me out here.

Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have searched, but the few threads I could find went cold a while ago with no definitive answer.
Does anyone know of a cradle / stand / dock charger that will utilise the full 2amp potential of my cable when charging?
When charging direct from the plug and cable, Battery Monitor app shows just shy of +1900mA (estimated, but good enough for me). When I connect the same cable to either of my two stands the app gives readings of 500mA - 700mA.
I thought the dock was just a dumb extention of the cable, and did not expect it to throttle the charge rate. Admittedly both stands are relatively cheap from Amazon, but both are 'designed for the Note 2' so would have thought the fast charging would have been a key feature..
Has anyone run into this problem? Anyone found a solution? Or am I just way too impatient?
Cheers!
You need to install a kernel which supports it like Perseus ot redpill.

I'm currently using Note2Core EX v3.06. I guess it doesn't support 2A docks, but it does 2A charging cables. Can the phone tell the difference between the two? I was not aware.
Thanks
I should clarify I am only talking about charging from the mains. The cable alone gets 2A charging rates, but add any charging stand to the equation and I get just over a quarter of the speed I normally would.
If charging stand is considered usb then it would be normal

Hello everybody,
I have recently bought the Griffin Dual USB car charger.
I use quite often a GPS navigator when I am driving, so I wanted to buy a car charger which was powerful enough to sustain gps and 3g data plus a little extra juice to charge my phone battery. I found this charger on the internet and the specifications say it's got an output of 1A which should be more than enough for my needs. However, I was quite surprised when I realised that the battery still goes down really slowly when I use the gps app.
I've had a look online and apparently most car chargers are not recognised by your phone as a proper charger. For this reason, they provide only 500mA. You can double check this by having a look at 'settings > about device > Status > Battery status'. If it says 'Charging (USB)', it provides 500mA. Instead, if it says 'Charging (AC)', it provides more (so called fast charging). Well, my phone says Charging (AC). But it's still not enough apparently
Do you guys know any app or anything I can do to test how much the charger is actually providing?
As you can imagine, this is quite annoying.
Thanks
i'm in the same boat as you but a different dual USB Charger
It's suppose to output 2.1A + 1A or something along those lines and it does charge last generation iPad and an iPad Mini at the same time without an issue.
When I plug a Galaxy Nexus in it charges as a USB BUT when I plug the Galaxy S3 it charges as AC but a 2 hour trip only got my phone battery up to 47% which is way way too slow and that is without GPS
The AC charger that came with my phone only outputs 1A but it charges my phone in 2.5 hours from dead flat to full
My car charger is the same. 2.1A port for tablets and stuff. 1A port for everything else. I have noticed that if I plug my s3 in the 2.1A port, it charges slightly faster. However, it's not even close to my 1A wall charger.

Hi, if you are looking for a best usb car charger for your device then i have a option for you. Please check my profile and fo to the link in my bio.. Thank you
I recall back with my old phone (Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V), the lead devs teamed up and made a flashable patch that allowed you to toggle fast charging on and off, basically telling the phone whether it should consider the power source a USB or Wall charger and it worked good. Maybe we can get some people to team up and build that for the S3?
I had a some problem with faulty unit.but Tronsmart rep sent me replacement so now i am so happy with my car charger.super fast and reliable. thx again
It actually does work !
Used mine for the last 3 month without any issue :

Actually the Tronsmart car charger is one of the few that will charge your phone, and allow constant screen on for navigation.
Probably the best choice around.

i bought mine from alibaba. it is original but doesn't work in my asus zenfone 2. Green battery show +(fast charging) but lock screen doesn't show fast charging message as it shows on original wall charger. So it is quite expensive charger. i paid 19$ but doesn't work. it charges slower than none-fast car charger. just let you know

LOL. The one on the lock screen disappears when you hit 70-80%. Only the + sign on the batt icon will appear. Also, charging from 80-100% will be slower than 1-79%. That is how Quick Charge 2.0 works.

Thanks for all the replies. It might be a defective one but i can assure you it doesn't work on my Asus zenfone 2 and it does overheats my Asus zenfone 2.

aukey is good but Tronsmart is the best, work very well, when have a promotions in aliexpress we wins more the price low.
Tronsmart has so many models. I do not need 4 ports though. Which other models would support our phone?
I also just recently bought the [Qualcomm Certified] Tronsmart Quick Charge 2.0 18W USB Car Charger. I haven't tried it yet but based on reviews I've read so far I can't wait to start using it & see if it's as advertised. Thanks for sharing.
Can this be used with a USB-C cable to charge the LG G5?
Hello guys, I just bought the aukey dual usb car charger, Certified qualcomm quick charge 2.0.
I connected to my G4 and I can not understand if enters in quick charge mode or not. Is there some icons indicating fast charging? I'm sure it works because I tested it on zenfone 2.
Using Android 5.1
Thank you all!
Check your lockscreen while charging. It’ll show “fast charging”
Hi All,
Got a car charger and multi port charger coming from choetech, I've used their stuff in the past and they are up there with anker as 3rd part cable companies go.
heres an early preview of them, They are looking for beta testers so you can sign up here: http://www.choetech.com/Support-review.html
Be interesting to see what these are like with the htc 10, i will let everyone know more once i receive the items.
@Phil750123, Thanks for sharing this information, I'll be glad to test the car charger!
I actually have the qc3 wall charger. So far it's charging pretty fast on my s7. Agree with other posters that the quality seems really good. Will know how it compares to stock when I get the HTC 10.
Yeah their quality is great. They were the first to come out with a good USB type C wall charger for the Nexus 6p
They're just a little bit logo happy.
RoHS eh idk. Fake CE.. And don't even get me started on that FCC logo.. Someone needs to tell them who/what FCC is..
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable.

Why on earth would a charger need that..
To me they just look like another chinese manufacturer.
Atleast have the brains to use appropriate logos so they'd be semi passable, like I don't know TÜV or UL and so forth..
And, of course, they're nowhere to be seen on Qualcomm's certified accessories list. Not even any QC2.0..
P.S. I did apply for testing, they sent me an email, I replied. Let's see if they send something lol. I'm not a liar so I'm gonna be honest if I do get their stuff for review
Yer they look decent I already have some of their usb c cables, I've just ordered the qc 3 portable charger from them aswell so il review them all and see how get on. But yer they make no mention of favourable reviews they just want a review, which means they are confident in their products which hopefully means they are good
Nice, I have some on the way, they look good.
I actually asked this question at qualcomm but they wouldn't answer, maybe someone knows the answer here, hopefully it is not too confusing.
I was wondering about the QC 3.0 technology chargers. My question is, say I buy a wall charger or a car charger that supports QC 3.0); will it charge my type C phone (say an LG G5 or an HTC 10) as fast with the QC 3.0 technology using a type A to type C cable? I know if I charge a type C device using only type c it will get me faster charges, but if I do type A to type C (with QC 3.0) with the right charger will I still get the best results?
Thanks.

type A to type c wil reduce charging times even with 3.0. I went with these cables and for a car charger I got this one both should give the rapid charging.

Thanks for clarifying, I wasn't sure. I think the HTC 10 charger comes with 3.0 quick charge, but it is a type A to type C.
I actually just got my QC 3.0 Powerbank from Choetech and I love it. Charges everything fast just like the spec allows for, and has a great build quality. One small thing I like is that when fast charging, the first light to the left switches from blue to green to indicate that. I just appreciate the assurance that my device is gonna be juiced up quick. The only thing that's odd about it is that you need to press the power button for charging to begin. I'd prefer it to just start when a device is connected, but that's my personal preference.
Overall I still really like the thing, great to have a powerbank that charges just as fast as my wall charger, before I was stuck with one that didn't have and QC capability. I'll include some pics below.
If anyone has any questions about it, let me know. Should also be getting a 6 port QC 3 charger from them soon too, will post on here when I do.

I was looking at this on Amazon last night, but they don't seem to be on Qualcomm's official partner list, which makes me a bit nervous for my battery (which I'm not super impressed with anyway so far - one of the reasons I was looking at the power bank). Do either the phone or the charger get hot while charging? The HTC QC3 charger seems to prevent overheating.

They aren't, but speeds have been up to par with what I'd expect from QC3 so far so I haven't had problems with it. The charger gets warm after a bit, as does the phone (warmer than with stock charger) but also nowhere near as much as the M9 would when charging. Don't know if you've used that before, but when charging regularly it would get so hot that it had to stop, and that's even with screen off. It was crazy bad at charging, which is a thing I never thought I'd say about a 2015 flagship....so I'm glad the 10 is better in that regard, at least. I'd imagine almost any third party charger is gonna make the phone hotter than the OEM one will, but I didn't have a problem with the heat it generated, overall.
Choetech Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Powerbank
I actually have the Quick Charge 3.0 Powerbank from them too.
I did a written review here on Amazon:

and a video Review on YouTube:

Im still waiting for the main qc 3.0 to arrive from china, but i also got the choetech qc3 portable charger and it works great.
Im just waiting for my usb multireader to come and il check out the voltages etc.. just to double check its all safe, but i've had choetech stuff in the past and had
no issues, they have good warranty so they must trust their quality.
