After trying every confluence skin I could find I've discovered that every one of them seems to either have issues or lack what I need for my setup. My Gotham with the Elmer confluence skin was great......7 icons.....an android section ( which I need for my build) and the ability to make every app a favorite and put it into any section you wanted to.... I loved it.
Now trying to come up with a decent Helix build I have discovered that none of the confluence skins have an android section....and I would care co much if I could simply put them into a different category, but I can't. I like the 7 icon Confluence, but you can't put favorites into a different section so that one won't work..... I love the one with 24 video shortcuts, but again....no android program section and also the power option buttons at the bottom left of each screen will lock your unit up in a heartbeat if you try to use them. I can't trust that someone would not try them out and get locked up so that one is out. I really want to make this Helix build, but none of the skins have the properties that I had with the Elmer Confluence for Gotham allowing 7 icons with an android section and allowing you to make favorites of any add on or android program and placing it into any section of the program!
Is there anything available for helix that gives you these options? I need the android section. I need to be able to place favorites into any section and I would like to have at least 7 icons for each section as my Gotham build had.
I'm not locked into Confluence, but am comfortable with it. Is there anything else that would easily give me the options that I require?( 7 or more shortcuts, an Android section and the ability to place favored add ons into any section?)

Look for a skin mod by elmerohueso. I believe it does all you want under Helix.

Just installed a 6.5 rom looks good, I like the more finger friendly interface does not seem so happy to miss understand the input so much,
Anyway I would like to remove some of the front page options and make it more the interface I would prefer so is there a way to remove,
Weather (waste of time I can look out the window and not pay data costs )

they all start with C...

After using x amounts of hours searching so many threads for different ROMs, themes etc i finally got to a point where im like "okay thats enough"
And now after im finished with my "style my phone" project im kinda thinking that there should be a "my phone tread" where everyone who wanted could post pics of their phone with links to all the apps/stuff they feel makes their phone rock. (also add a short install guide for less advanced phonebrains)

-EnergyROM i love this ROM. its Fast, nice and smooth
(for those who are not familiar with installing ROMs, its very easy. Just sync your phone and start the instalation from your pc)
-HDwall Ive used this to enable wallpapers on all tabs.
(it creates a cab. file. Transfer that to your phone and install it through file explorer)
here are mine backgrounds (Girl WP.png - View attachment 207188)
-Fingerkeyboard comes with lots of skins and language packs. You need the WVGA cab.
To make this app start after every soft reset you need "sip change" (install it - set delay to 50sec)
-Clock I love this one.
install the clockfix if you get the pixel error.
this clock also removes the calendar function on home page
-Tabs. The one i use is "TesalatMulticolorIcons"

Please feel free to post your phone with a "whats on it" list so we can all compare apps and discover new stuff. I think this would make things so much easier for all those NPG (NonPhoneGeeks) who stumble into this site looking for ways to improve their blackstone.

That is still in BETA, and there is no listing for our screen size. But it is a start! Go try it out, fix it up, and submit it for the 320x240 size. Besides that, asking for a full theme is a lot to ask for when you aren't specific.

im just simply looking for a feel that windows 7 has like the aero theme with the transparency etc. the windows scheme sounds. basically the icons, home screen, sounds. not a very modified theme where every little detail is different
Just curious, does anyone actually use those launcher apps in the Play store that theme the home screen, create the grids, lay widgets etc. Ones that come to mind are Buzz and Themer, they get reasonable reviews on Play but they rarely get mentioned on XDA.
Just wanted some opinions on them. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum.
I understand the obvious attraction is the ease of use for changing a homescreen in a few clicks, if like me you don't have a creative flair to make Nova look cool.

Although I understand why you originally posted this to Q&A, I've moved this to Themes and Apps because the rules say, "For the posting of Themes and / or Apps as well as announcements & discussions ..."
I've personally used Themer, Buzz, and Aviate and they were too different for me personally to get used to. So, I tend to stick to Sense or Nova.
The only one-click theming app I've used was Themer for a couple of months when it was first released.
Before using Themer, I'd either use Apex or Nova and spend the time to create a customized homescreen from scratch but found I had less and less free time available to get it all set up. That's when Themer stepped in and was pretty much ideal, at the time.
As I prefer a proper customized experience though, I stopped using it after a couple of months and went back to making my own set up with Apex/Nova.
Perhaps the reason you don't see Themer mentioned as much around the forums is because it has its own app forum?
I would like to know if there is anyone on here who can add the ability to add some lines of code to Shield TV stock os so that it would be possible to have more than 2 rows of apps on the home screen. I am thinking it wouldn't be hard as there are developers who make custom firmware for the Shield TV. If you can or know someone who is a developer or coder and can make this happen i am willing to donate. Thank you
This doesn't sound like something that would require a full ROM - just a different launcher.
It sounds like we were both looking for the same end result. I accidentally stumbled upon an app called Sideload Launcher / Application Launcher.

Long story short, it allows you to create new "channels" using the factory Leanback Launcher from Google (no root required). In each of these new "channels," you can add individual apps to that row. Just a heads up, it is a bit intimidating at first when you start trying to figure out how to use the app. However, after an hour, I finally got my home screen to look the way I wanted it to look. I now have three extra "channels" that are categorized by app type. Hope this helps!
What is the model number? I have been looking for the shield tv model number and can't find it anywhere.

I am hoping for more customization down the road on this but for now I prefer this so much over that messy new version of the launcher that Google is shoving down our throats with Oreo.

Settings > About > Scroll down to Model Number ....(mine is P2897)
