I am looking to root Galaxy S 3 model: sgh-t999l, baseband: t999luvubnf4.
towelroot method is no go : "device not supported". can anyone recommend easy way to root that phone?
CF-Auto Root, flash it in ODIN.
Should work, but I have a slightly different device.
If you have a custom recovery, you could flash supersu from recovery.

Hi everyone,
A couple months ago I picked up my sgs4 from Wind. I recently discovered all of the bonuses to rooting my device. I attempted to root it using motochopper but to no avail(failed to update su binary whenever I opened superuser). I someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. My device is SGH-M919 and M919VVLUAMG1 if that helps. Thanks!
re: root
Here is the easiest way to gain root access on a M919 Samsung Galaxy S4 phone.
No more trial and error.
Open this link below and follow the easy step by step instructions then download
the Odin flash pre-rooted rom flash it with Odin and and you will have instant root.
You will find the download link for the rom and step by step instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474373
After you are done you will be able to flash any cwm/twrp flashable custom
rom or you can simply keep the odin flash rom and use that if you like.
Good luck!
hi;
I have a roger GS3(SGH-I747M) and recently I have updated to stock 4.4.2; then I flash cf-root throuth odin; trying to get root access; however, after I boot into the phone, I always gets a force close message on the phone and cannot get root access. Does anybody know what I can do to get root access on stock 4.4.2.

Towelroot seems quite easy. Once I do that, what's the best way to install latest TWRP or CWM on rooted 4.4.2? I had always heard GooManager, but now it's showing as not supported and unavailable.
No need to root. Just load a custom recovery and flash a custom ROM.
Flash recovery with odin.

Like someone mentioned earlier, try flashing a custom recovery (I like philz touch myself) via odin. Once you access Recovery, if your phone isn't rooted upon trying to reboot you'll see a message that says "root priviliges may be lost, root (or something like it) binary su). Choose yes and your phone will be rooted once it boots. Install SuperSU (or kush's Superuser if you'd like) and then you'll see your phone is rooted.
I used TowelRoot and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. However, 4.4.2 seems to run extremely slow on the I747 so you might consider a custom ROM. That is the route I am looking into.
This is my wife's phone. I have a note 3 running stock 4.4.2 successfully rooted with cf auto root.
Hers is the S3 koodo version. Cf auto root runs and completes the process same as it did on my note but doesn't actually install either the su binary or apk.
I've tried towel root, device not supported and every google-able trouble shooting option available for towel root to no avail.
Kingo is also a failure.
I can flash twrp or cwm with hopes of flashing su that way, but neither of them detect or mount any storage (internal/external SD, system/data/cache partitions) and upon reboot they are automatically reverted back to stock recovery somehow.
Has anyone else successfully rooted the s3 i747m running stock 4.4.2 and if so what method was used? Thanks.
Just to be clear. I've spent hours on google and on XDA including all 3 methods from the following thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787324
Can you load a custom recovery onto it?
Try using philz recovery. I've heard of that being successful when twrp and cwm have issues.

So I am having an issue locating a root method for my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 MM (6.0.1) Running version PD3. I have seen @koop1955 's method but I am having an issue. His tut. has a link to a TWRP file for zeroflte rather than zerofltespr. I have not seen a updated kernal to auto root on other threads either. I was looking into using CF Auto Root and was looking at it but i'm afraid to flash it via odin because the build ID is for PB6 rather than PD3. In about device my device shows up as a G920P.02. I need help either finding a root method that works and the appropriate TWRP file to flash (I think it is this one) or someone to clarify any of the methods I have stated above if they are safe and what files should be used.
I have a galaxy s6 carrier is sprint and the model is SM-GP920P I want to root it. I've tried kingroot and kingoroot none have a root for my model. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the safest and easiest way to root my phone maybe suggest some custom ROMS for it that work well.
