My bluetooth is turning itself off randomly. It comes back on within seconds, but when its off the symbol disappears from the notification bar, the button shows bluetooth off and of course everything (car, Wear device, etc) disconnects. It then quickly comes back on.
I did not have this problem until I did a factory reset on my device. My device is bone stock, unrooted, running latest OTA. Prior to the factory reset, Bluetooth was rock solid. Installed apps are exactly the same pre/post reset so I don't think its a rogue app.
I also noticed that FoxFi randomly drops the connection with tethered wifi devices, which also did not happen before the factory reset. Was thinking that even though it's not using bluetooth this could possibly be a related issue, maybe due to a memory leak or some other Lollipop nonsense?
Anyhow, I've tried re-pairing devices and clearing bluetooth app data, but no dice. I'm about to do another factory reset but wanted to see if anybody else has suggestions before doing so.

Hi
I have Black 3.01 which work well except for one annoying problem.
When in an area of no signal it constantly turns on. As soon as I turn it off, on it comes again.
It's not activesync (I've done fake server trick)or any other software I've installed. I've not got it set to auto attach to GPRS/G3. I've looked in the notification queue and running programmes. I can't see anything that is causing it. If I turn the radio off, it stays off.
Any idea's
This is driving me nuts.
Could it be the radio version?
This was happening to me for a while and I think I traced it back to a weather program constantly trying to do updates. But it was never clear, so I did a hard reset, reinstalled everything and the problem went away.
Yes, I considered that. However I've got everything disabled that might try to connect. And it only happens when there is no signal.
But I might have to do as you did and hard reset and re-install one programme at a time.
Unless someone else has a clue?
This has happened to me several times on black 3.0. Not sure what is doing it - I have no programs installed that would be attempting to wake up the device or to connect to a data network....
I just got my Sprint GN a few weeks ago, and love using the bluetooth to connect to my car audio, but every 3rd or 4th time I get into my car I notice the bluetooth doesn't pair, so I take out my phone and look and the bluetooth icon is gray (instead of blue, indicating it has connected), I toggle the bluetooth off, and then when I try to turn the bluetooth radio back on it just sits there saying "bluetooth is turning on...". Bluetooth stops working until I reboot my phone
Does anyone have any incites into this or anyone else experiencing this?
I have the same issue. It's no solution but you can enable/disable Flightmode to get Bluetooth up and running again (but quicker then reboot).

I'll give that a try (again) next time.. I am 100% certain I had tried that, though, unfortunately.
Yeah, I tried your solution again, and it just keeps saying "bluetooth is turning on..." even after I've turned *on* airplane mode.
Need some more information to be able to help you properly >_>
Stock ROM or Custom?
Rooted/Unrooted?
Or alternatively (Because it sounds like you're running a stock Galaxy Nexus...) ave you tried unpairing, and the repairing the devices?
Hi Zach,
Completely stock & unrooted (so far)
I actually did a complete factory reset a couple days ago, and the problem has yet to resurface, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it's gone, but the issue was intermittent so there is no way to be completely sure it won't show up again.
If it does, I'll try your suggestion, thanks
My Bluetooth on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has been working a month ago. Haven't used it ever since. Today I tried to turn it on, and it just reverts back to off in 3-4 secs.
Tried clearing Bluetooth cache and data, without success.
Is there anything I can do? What worries me is that it doesn't seem to be a common issue.
Edit: I am rooted, stock rom, haven't done pretty much anything extreme at all.
I read on some sites that doing a soft reset usually fixes this, but the battery on this tablet is not removable, so how can I do it?
Bluetooth randomly turns on and off, still remains paired with devices.
I have clear data and cache, also did a factory reset with success.
Any suggestions ?
Stock Sprint S6 non-rooted
So I've got a Pixel 3 XL, completely stock and completely up to date. Unrooted.
I've got reoccurring Bluetooth issues where it won't see devices it's been paired with until I restart the phone, and then in some cases it doesn't even know it's been paired - it completely forgets the devices I've paired with (sometimes one, sometimes multiple, sometimes all!). The problem is not isolated to any particular device that I pair it with.
I've considered a factory reset to see if that helps, but wanted to see if anyone has any other recommendations before I take a chunk out of my day doing a rebuild of my device.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I've never had this issue before, even when I was on custom ROM. My Bluetooth works fine in car, at home, and with wireless headphones.

I cleared out the bluetooth cache and storage then rebooted this morning - going to see if it makes any difference. Usually it takes a day or two before a device disappears after I re-pair with the phone. Unless anyone has any other suggestions I may do a factory reset in a few days if it happens again.
Not bluetooth but I did have all my saved wifi networks wiped after a reboot a few weeks ago. Oddly, I rebooted because my phone wouldn't connect to my Fitbit via bluetooth to sync. I rebooted and the screen was black, not responding at all. If I pressed the power button it would vibrate slightly as it does when the power menu pops up, but nothing else. After trying a few button combos I got it to reboot again and everything was fine except wifi networks were all gone.
