[Q] *#7465625#

I know this has been talked about in one of the threads on here. But my question is without being able to use *#7465625# is their another way (besides another sim) to tell if our phone is actually unlocked?

Has anyone unlocked with this

I found this SIM unlock on eBay and was wondering if anyone has figured out how to do it themselves without paying. Thanks

use the search button there are already like 4 threads on this topic of unlocking via USB.
So you have to either pay or call Tmobile? I see your post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890254&highlight=sim+unlock
has anyone tried this unlock method?

[Q] Unlocked T989D asking for "network lock control key"

I bought a T989D privately and was told it was unlocked. Running stock ICS. When using my MTS sim it asks me for network lock control key. Since I was not the one who unlocked it, I suspected it was not really unlocked. Did a little research and found if I dialed *#7465625# , I could find status of lock. All were "off" . Now since I did not unlock it and have no way to contact person who unlocked it, I have no codes to enter. Tried rooting and using [root] Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock, it could not find unlock or unfreeze code.
What is my next step??

Did some more testing. Here are some more facts. As I said my active working MTS sim asks for network lock control key. I have 2 Rogers inactive never used sims, they both ask for network lock control key.
Have a Telus never used sim, it DOES NOT ask for network lock control key.
Makes me think phone is locked. So why all the "off" states of *#7465625# test?

Am I missing something here? Status of *#7465625# indicates phone IS unlocked. Any help would be appreciated. Would be glad to pay for unlock code if I knew that would work.

Seems like you were ripped off. I've heard of "partial unlocks" where whoever unlocked it didn't know what exactly they were doing. Like they tried z3box or jtag to unlock it. But yes if you bought an unlock key it would fully unlock it as unlock keys are usually direct from Samsung.
