Google play services fc - T-Mobile LG G3

Has anyone else been getting "google play services has stopped" alot recently?

20e stock rooted rom

I get it a bunch when I use AutoMate and Songza together. Not sure why.

I go through periods when I get this a lot but haven't figured out what's causing it or making it stop. I also get the same message about Hangout, which I've never even opened/used.

Check your version an update should've fixed it weeks ago (did for me). A clean flash might be in order. You can temporarily fix it while you investigate by disabling/reenabling the app in settings to default to an earlier version.

Google forcing (without permission) app updates

I doubt anyone ever wanted not to update an app, but I have Tweedle installed, and I want to stick to a particular version. I've unchecked automatic updates in Google Play settings, but twice Google has forced the update on me without asking me.
Today though, it started downloading the update, I stopped it. Then after a while, it started doing the same thing again, and I stopped it. Third time though, I wasn't around, so the update was installed. Delinking the app from the Play Store using Titanium Backup doesn't work either.
However, my point is, if I don't want to update an app, why the hell is Google shoving it down my throat even without my permission, and moreover when I have denied it?
Addendum: I have unchecked automatic updates of the said app individually too.
It might not be google doing it. I remember reading Facebook bypassing google updates a while back.
Are you sure it's being updated via the play store?

yup. Had the Play Store open, and saw the download progress.
Tried detaching the app from the market using titanium backup?
Yes, as mentioned in the op

Gapps force close in restart

Just curious if anyone has run into this. Recently rooted and removed bloat and switched to android L boot animation, but on restart it keeps telling me gapps have stopped but all gapps still on y phone work perfectly fine.Anyone know what the problem could be?Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
i have the same issue. doesn't seem to mess anything up, but kind of confusing and annoying
Same here. It comes up after every reboot.
Same here. blah.blah.gapps has stopped error when rebooting my stock AT&T G3.
Same here on D855.
I'm rooted via ioroot and removed a bunch of bloatware.
same here and it happened on my G Flex after upgrade to 4.4.2 also. I got it to stop on accident. I don't know "which" did it, but the first pop up of that error I started uninstalling pre-installed (or disabled the system apps). I think it really has something to do with the hangouts update to google play services. It didn't happen at all in the store, it wasn't until I got home and started updating/installing apps. If you have this problem and aren't on sprint we can then narrow it down to the added google services above Gmail, youtube, maps or play store app since I use those everyday and none of the other apps "google" apps.
I also do not think its any of the LG Default software as I installed some of it again (or re-enabled) to check out if I liked it and the error hasn't come back. So if you could please, uninstall/disable hangouts and the google play services update that is required for the 4.4.2 release of it and let me know. I also installed nova launcher but I am almost 100% positive I installed it after I fixed the app stop responding error... sorry I am all over the place, I wasn't really paying attention to it I was just doing what I always do with a new phone. Playing with it.
You said you removed bloat? I had that same issue when I converted play store to a user app via tibu. I think I had also tried to convert play services to a use app. That's what will cause it to crash like that. If you deleted or converted play store this would be the cause of the force close of gapps

Just cleared the google play store services data and the error went away.
My friend with a g2 has been having the same issue lately. I've tried clearing downloads data and cache as well as play store to no avail...its annoying but a small quirk in the long run

I just upgraded to the TMO G3. I started getting this error upon reboots after I installed the Google Keyboard. Possible culprit?

See if he has Google Keyboard installed. If he does, uninstall it then reboot. That should fix it. For some reason, Google Keyboard is causing this popup.
Actually I think it's LG Keyboard. When I froze that app in Titanium Backup and restarted I always get the gapps crashed error. After Defrosting this app, I never get that error. I don't think it has anything to do with the Google Keyboard.

Default apps not saving

For example, when clicking a link from an app, I select Chrome and tick the box, but it doesn't get saved. It asks me over and over again. Anyone else experiencing this?
I have this too unfortunately
Same here. Annoying but definitely not a deal breaker. Hope it gets patched anyways. Unless one of our genius xda devs can figure out a fix
I tried reinstalling every app that could handle the intents affected by this and it seems to have worked. E.g. I used Titanium Backup (I'm rooted) to uninstall Chrome then reinstalled it from the Play Store.
Same. Getting a little annoying now, but I'm sure it will be fixed in the Marshmallow update.

Can't update app

Woke up this morning to 2 updates available, the Pixel Launcher and Google Support Services. But I get this error message Everytime I try to update. I've tried clearing Play Store and Google services cache and data and rebooted but none of that worked. Does anyone know the cause of this?
Edit: And 30 minutes later they randomly started working. Maybe it was a server side error.
I had that last night as well. I tried clearing caches and data for Play Store but it didn't work, but after a little while they updated fine. Guessing just a little glitch.
I'm still having that same problem. Error code 941.
Hopefully it'll just self correct like it did for y'all
Go into Apps, find Play Store, and force close. Mine wished after that.

Play Store issue

Is anyone else having trouble downloading apps from the Play Store? Apps will get to 98%, then just stop. I've tried rebooting, clearing the cache and data for the Play Store, and Play Services. I also removed my Google account, and re-signed in. It works for a day or two, then goes right back to getting stuck at 98%.

Try clearing the system cache on the boot menu.
Were any Google apks updated recently or need to be?
I have apps set to be manually updated, and I don't see any updates available. I've even tried a factory reset.

Forget a factory reset as even if it fixes it you're likely to trigger it again.
Try resetting the associated Google system apks back to the factory load. If you already done that check for updates. Make sure you are not using a misconfigured firewall or package blocker.
Google the error code. Playstore is a little bitc$.
Probably a setting... or a data issue.
Keep playing with it; Androids wuv being played with.

Not sure all of the ones. Goggle play service for starters. This one won't wipe your google sign in.
To nuke all of just clear all the data in all the google apks. Something may have got corrupted by backup when you reloaded.
Maybe what's needed as well is clearing Google online data. Then clear the apks data... again.
Something's misconfigured or corrupted -if- the your current software is compatible with Playstore.
Go through all your Google online and Google phone settings.
Play with it and remember to reboot after making changes; it may not take until you do.
Lol even when Playstore is running right it's a little sketchy.

When I Google the issue, there's a lot of people with the same problem. None of their suggestions have worked either. I've done the Play Services, and it works for a day, then goes back to not downloading apps.

Use ApkExport to backup your apps to the SD card/computer. You can easily reinstall them then after a reload. You always have a known good copy.
Works perfectly with no adware.
Sometimes the PS issues resolve themself after a few days/weeks:silly:
I'm trying the Beta version of Play Services. It's working for now, so time will tell.
