I surely hope this topic hasn't been made... I don't want to be that guy.
Short and sweet... I'm rooted (that MAY not have anything to do with it)
I got this phone launch day... It worked perfectly. Not saying this is the reason why but as soon as the Iphone 4S was released my phone started failing.. Essentially what it does is give me a fast paced busy signal when I try to make a call. Sometimes I have to attempt to make a car 15 times or more. Of course that is annoying but people also get the same signal when they try to call me. Since I'm in sales that is a huge problem.
I called Sprint, the local store. The lady told me that while OG EVOs were having that issue I was the first SII. She said sprint was currently upgrading (and I read stuff in the news to back that up on a national level).
So after receiving no help from the local store I called the 1800 sprint1 stuffola.. They had me go through the whole ##xxxx## stuff. After doing that and it not fixing the problem they suggested I go to a sprint store and have my phone replaced. Now I, don't want to do that. I really don't want someone else’s phone and I just have this thing.. Where I don't want another phone (even though it will be an SII).
Now, I have an airwave at the house and I have absolutely no problem there. Calls come and go as they please. Which makes me feel like it isn't my phone. Is there anything I can do before I go and replace my baby... I really don't feel like going through the whole unrooting process and getting rid of the triangle before I go in there...
I've done PRL updates so that isn't it.
Not sure, but maybe try flashing the new modem...
Bobby O'S Epic Touch..
I had issues with busy signals and calls not going through also....until I turned off Google voice from my computer. I was using Google voice and groove ip to make calls over wifi and once I turned wifi off my phone was useless. If you aren't using GV then I have no clue lol.

It was google voice!
Thanks a lot for your help guys.
Hey Poppy, want to know what makes your answer that much more freakish... I live in Chambersburg, Pa. I work in Greencastle. Small world. Thanks again.
Glad you figured it out!! Dealing with Sprint exchanges are a pain in the ass... :/
I was going to say there is a root that wont affect your counter or add the yellow triangle.. But it's moot now haha

I have a stock galaxy s2 that has had a few random shut offs where power button won't turn it back on I have to remove battery to get it to power up. Then also at times my keyboard isn't responsive so I have to power off and on to get it working but once its back on it puts my phone on silent and I have to go back and set all my ringtones for everything on the phone calls notification contacts email everything.anyone else ever have that happen or know what causes it...do I have a defective phone?

How long have you had it? If its new then you probably do. If you still have that one week return time then you should definitely take it in for a look at you nearest T-Mobile store.
Try rooting it and running a custom rom. Try a few. Try a few kernals. If that doesn't work you have a hardware defect I'm afraid.
i just got it 2 weeks ago, and as far as rooting im going thru dev trying fig out how to do so..new to this and dont want waste time rooting(as will take a bit to take in everything to know how do it) if phones defective
Don't mess around with trying to root it or anything else. Just take it back and have it exchanged for another. Make it TMos problem not yours.
Man this is really starting to piss me off.
Ive been threw 3 s4's in 3 weeks... No im not some parinod...Lookin for probs.. ive owened every galaxy phone and have NEVER had a prob. But only once on a s2...
1. Fist phone was great got before back order. But then it just started random booting.... on pure stock..
2. Phone 2.... flicker flicker everywhere. every app.mms.homescreen. EVERYTHING. Even with all the auto brightness/adjustments bull crap turned off... and random usb connection probs. I can chalk up the usb one up thow...
3. Same as num. 2 .... even worse flicker even when im just looking at my homescreen....oooh and major lag...freezes. F.C. !(STOCK)!
Plus when on lte all bars go away... but when on 4g full bars... had to manually change to no lte just to get calls!!!
Ive never made a thread like this...NEVER. just so fed up..
Bottomline does anyone have these flickers no matter what app there running or not running? Or ficker with nothing running......On pure stock...or rom too?
Why me... FFFFKKKKK
Didnt pay 700$ to go threw this... plus bill....... to end up with a possible refurb!

By flicker, are talking about how it randomly lowers the brightness by a little bit, then raises it back up?

I recommend going to another store. Seems like they have gotten a bad batch or something. So long as your under 30 days you won't get a refurbished one. They will exchange it on site for a new one under buyers remorse. It's how I got my new one.

If you really are on pure stock unrooted MDL firmware and having the problems you are
having I would take it back to our friendly Tmobile store and get an exchange ASAP.
Just wanted to say thanks to Bajanman, aaron147, and Scott(ScottsRoms). I was constantly messing with ROMs, which is fun thanks to all the devs here, trying to get better reception. It was deceiving because the phone worked fine, or so I thought. My wife upgraded her phone to the HTCOne and I noticed she was getting waaay better reception. So I went back to stock and I called my carrier, who walked me through trouble-shooting. Turns out that a few of the Note 2s in my area were "not perfect." 30 days before warranty up......They sent me a new one. My phone was bad......With my new one, no problems now, and reception is better than my wife's One...hehe. But, I never would have thought to call it in had I not had the help to try everything to fix it. Thanks. Oh, and everyone who wrote the guidelines to return to stock and "unroot" back to factory. :good:
Your very welcome brotha! Glad you got your problem resolved.. here 2 help where I can

Hey guys, I hope I'm in the right forum here. I FINALLY got myself a NOTE 4 and I love it. But something caught my eye the other day. My fiancé has a Note as well (AT&T) and whenever she gets a call; she can put her call on hold and then go back to it when she's done. It's like she gets an extra step that we don’t on our phone. I was wondering if anyone had ever tried porting a stock TouchWiz contact dialer from an AT&T/T-Mobile Note 4 over to a Sprint Note 4? Again sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but that little detail seemed kool to me and even though I searched for it, I couldn't find a dialer apk files anywhere. Then again, I don't know if it's even possible. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated, Thanx.
