I'm having a tough time rooting this ROM: N5110XXDNK4_N5110XSADNI1_XSA
I found it on sammobile and it works fine but haven't found a root method that works. Previously been using CF auto root and towelroot( JB 4.2 ).
Any ideas? Odin 3.07 or 3.09 display the FAIL message minutes after starting download.
I have experience flashing ROMs and recoverys on Samsung devices, not new to this.
Found a method that works. Thanks to mskip!
The root Toolkit helped me a lot.

Ok, so I have a Galaxy S3 SGH-I747 running 4.3 android on AT&T. I installed Keis to ensure that my Mac had the proper drivers and could recognize my phone. I am running Mac OSX 10.9.1.
I have tried several different methods to root to no avail.
I tried the CASUAL jar root method. Went through the process but installs a version of SuperSU that does not contain binaries and the knox blocks.
Then I tried flashing the root method that isnt supposed to trip flash counter by mrRobinson.
I tried a couple of other methods using Heimdall but could not get Heimdall to allow me to flash anything. None of the files I extracted were available to select.
Really frustrated at this point. I switched back to Android just to tinker with Android OS. Help!!!!!
Did you run the AT&T OTA update for 4.3? If you did, you can't flash any any of mrRobinson's pre-rooted AT&T ROMs because you're on 4.3.
I assume you got the rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
It should be noted that flashing any pre-rooted 4.3 ROM will trip the knox counter.
Thanks for the response. I got the phone from a buddy so I'm betting he did the OTA update.
Are there any options for rooting after the 4.3 update?

Is there any warranty left on the phone? If there is and you're running a 4.3 OTA update, rooting will trip the knox counter and void your warranty.
If you still want to root, people have reported success using CF-Autoroot.

Not concerned about Warranty. The challenge I am having is using Hiemdall instead of Odin since I am on a mac. I can't seem to fgiure out how to get hiemdall to flash anything.
Thanks again.
I'm not familiar with flashing on a Mac. Would virtual PC or VMWare help flash using Odin?
Hello.
I read almost everything but still not able to use SuperSU.
Updating from market give me the error of no binary installed.
I tried to flash it but then i dont see it at all.
I have upgraded my N7100 to official stock 4.4.2 through Kies.
I am using Philz recovery and Dr.Ketan multi tool.
Is there something i missing ?
When i upgraded to 4.3 everything went fine.

Try TWRP
'cause in the Phantom Rom thread, many people experience problems when using other recoveries. It's worth a shot, although I do not guarantee it.

I had a similar situation. Resolved it by using CF autoroot, flashed via PC Odin. Follow Chainfire's process as per the link below, then update SuperSU via playstore. I had to repeat the process a few times, before it "stuck". Its working fine now and it has survived a factory reset as well, so I am happy.:good: Thanks to Chainfire.

Fianlly worked.
I tried the same in a internet cafe couple days ago with no result.
I did it today at home and worked.
I think my Note2 have personality and wants only my computer for these kind of stuff.
Anyway after the CF-autoroot i install SuperSU and then i flashed again Philz recovery cause i like it more.
Then i run Dr Ketatn's multitool (not for the root option) and everything works perfect.

Use towelroot by geohot and keep knox 0x0.
Has anyone rooted the Note or anything else under Win8.1 x64.
I just had to re-root my LG phone, which I originally did over a year ago under Win7 x64.
I could install various different ADB drivers, but all that would happen is the PnP "ding" sound in rapid succession upon detection of the device. Thankfully I have a netbook which still has Win7.
Hello All,
Need some help. I have a GT-N5120 (Note 8.0 LTE) with the latest BTU firmware n5120xxdod1. I searched all over the internet on methods of how to root this build but to no avail. Can anyone suggest a method on how to root this latest firmware?
Thanks.
Have you tried flashing supersu from recovery? This may also work with Odin: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Managed with your suggestion... although I had to root it twice before it worked properly since the 1st root still blocks SuperSU. thanks
HI, I got my son a wifi P600 note 2014 for his birthday a while ago, and it came with kitkat on it, so i was able to update it, install twrp, and root it. Now i bought another one for my girlfriends son, but his came with 5.1.1 LMY47X.P600UESDPL1 already on it. I cant find any information on whether or not i can install twrp, and then do the cfauto-root just like i did on the other one. Has anyone out there done this yet, or is it pretty safe to try it and i can fix a brick with Odin? I've been a Motorola and HTC guy, don't have the whole Samsung thing down yet.
Thanks, Mark
If CF has LP on autoroot website its good.
That exact version number of 5.1.1 is not on the autoroot website. But I believe the update on the tablet was just some security updates, so I thought mAybe auto root would still work. But if it don't work will it just fail or will it brick it. Can I use Odin and a stock fw file to at least get back to stock from a brick?
Just reread what you said, and now I'm thinking your saying that as long as Cf-autoroot page has a 5.1.1 lp version for the p600 it will work on any 5.1.1 update of the p600?
Why not just do it the old fashioned way? Flash twrp using odin and then directly boot into twrp and flash the latest supersu binary from the chainfire's website. I just did this with PL1 firmware and everything is running fine. Installed busybox, fdroid and adaway eveything working just fine with root permissions
Just so everyone knows it did work rooting with cf-auto-root , then I was also able to flash twrp with Odin. Everything is working great.
Hey I have the same tablet and version but new to this topic and don't know how to root my tablet. I'm searching for a guide for my device. Do you have some tips? Or maybe will explain how you did it?
