Because Redmi 2 doesn't have any xda forum...
I was always curious why xda just doesn't add all new devices, Redmi 2 has Snapdragon 410, 2 GB RAM (variant), LTE... C'MON, XDA!

Dude how does this even matter. U still cant talk about a device in another device thread.
And xda only adds devices with follow gpl norms ie source codes .

Not even Redmi 1s had source codes when it was added to XDA, the same as Mi4i (opensourced since yesterday). And we also have forums for Nokias (where literally nothing happens).
But some perspective devices are added half a year after releasing or just aren't added.

Yes, please. CM11 roms are already out. Unlike other xiaomi phones whcih re MTK devices, Redmi 1s is snapdragon, which means easier path to CM11 roms.
I offer to take up admin responsibilities for this forum as needed.
Why the xiaomi mi 5 plus doesn't have a web page on xda ?
and
why xiaomi give away its software .. Did xiaomi stopped selling and supporting it ?
Yeah, xiaomi stop selling this device, so no sub forum for xda ???

I think Mi Mix 2s came too quickly on the market and most shifted to it (probably sold and got 2s) cause the camera quality was finally closer to S9/S9+. And with Mi8 it beat s9+ in DXoMark ranking.
But S9+ in making videos stands unchallanged many Experts claim.
The Mi Mix 2 is a very capable phone. Do we think our device will get an Android Q port from someone?

2 revesions of android is all they offer and 3rd one is just courtesy. Mix 2 arrived with Nougat, we got oreo and now Pie is in terms. I hardly believe that Xiaomi is going to supply us with Q.

Of course someone will drag Lineage over. It's a question of honor - and to show that our devs here can
Official MIUI? No way. The Mi Mix 4 will be out before there is a Q MIUI. All we can dare to dream of on that front is some frankenbuild.
Title.. Doesn't seem like much rom development like the 7 pro. Or can you flash 7 pro stuff on 7t?

You should return it. IDK how or why you would think this phone would have room development so quick and the phone just came out.

I think asked what I asked wrong. I meant more in the manner of.. does anyone think in the future months this device will receive the same attention as the 7 pro. The only reason I got the T over pro was I use snap chat alot and didn't know how well the moving camera would hold up.

I honestly think we would have a good amount of rom development because of the price of the phone and the specs you get for the price is pretty much unmatched. In some cases our phone is better than the 7 Pro.
I honestly wanted the Pixel 4 XL but once I saw the specs and the price I was like no way. Just have patience and I'm sure you'll be rewarded.

haha! The phone barely came out. Just wait. Official ROMs will come and then the developers will move to it and we'll have an abundance of custom roms you can pick from all day long.
This is a great phone so we don't have to worry about this
Just hang in there and good stuff will happen on XDA...

Good to hear. This is my first one plus device and didn’t know how much development goes on. I’ve always owned Samsung where I never worried about development ?

IDK what's the last Samsung phone you've had but development is non-existent for Samsung thanks to Knox.

Android 10 has changed a lot with devices launched with it, so development such as TWRP will probably take some time.
However, kernels can be unified with the 7 Pro series, ElementalX has added test support for 7T series.

Kernel's will be unified even though the devices technically run different chips?

if you want to have an idea just check out the 5T and 6T XDA forums, see how much development are still going on.
My 5T currently is running a custom Android 10 ROM which is perfectly stable, its amazing
