I wasn't able to flash any of the kernels for 5.1.1. root until I checked this off. Was this a new dev option for 5.1.1??

Some folks that flashed the leaked 5.1.1 claim that they don't have that option in developer options.

Good day sir. Has anyone already found a workaround to root the Korean S6 (SM-G920S) if they don't have the OEM Unlocking option on the Dev Options? Thanks for your reply.

Have not seen any posts stating a work around, possibly going back to stock firmware so that oem unlock can be enabled and safe flashing can be done.

No OEM Unlocking in Dev option
Any help to root latin america s6's without oem unlock option?
i have no os installed. i have g925t tmobile. how can i unlock usb debugging?? flashing firmware wont work, it just causes boot loop.
Latinamerican S6's may be running the 5.0.2 version of lollipop, that's why it's not present, we got it with 5.1.1 update. Only way to unlock is to install 5.1.1 update.

OEM Unlock is not present on Latin-American S6 running Lollipop 5.1.1 . Anyway you really don't need that to unlock your bootloader. I did it with no issue. You can follow any procedure in this forum just skip the "OEM Unlock" step and you got it!

If you're on 5.0.2 it's already unlocked, right? I thought only 5.1.1 added the lock bootloader and option to disable.

lock your BL then it should show as available to toggle.
Its probably by design as why would it let you toggle that when you're unlocked already?

I'm pretty sure on one of the unlock threads, it says to contact @ryanbg to have a custom unlock binary made. I think you have to send your CID and aboot to him, and then he can make you a custom unlock binary.

I'm attempting to flash a custom ROM on this thing for the THIRD time now. I got it last september and since then I've tried numerous times but never managed to, this is as far as I got, I managed to roll back to Lollipop and all I need to do is unlock the bootloader and install TWRP, so I can flash a new rom, but my device is "not eligible for bootloader unlock" by LG. Is it the ONLY possible way to do it? Isn't there any other way at all?

Search for TWRP in FIsH
But read it carefully. Having TWRP is not enough.

So I recently got my hand on a pixel 2 xl without the operating system.
I know this is an issue happened to some devices and the best way is to send it back to Google for a replacement.
However neither do I have the box and receive with me nor I am living in the official launch area. So there is no easy way for a replacement from Google. (I can't even post question at there official pixel user forum)
Therefore I really would love to know if I can indeed install the official ROM with tool like this one? https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/development/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3730226
And hopefully won't wasted a good device.

Did you have OEM Unlocking checked in Developer options before it happened? If yes you can flash factory images
If you have the stock recovery and can boot into it you can adb sideload the most recent ota zip.

Thanks for the answering guys, however I think it is one of the machine that Google ships with a OS in it... so I don't think OEM unlocking is enabled nor the recovery is working.

You can get the bootloader lock status simply by booting into the bootloader. Locked or unlocked? You don't "think" it has a working recovery is not good enough to help you. If it does have a stable recovery, you can flash the OTA. If it does not and the bootloader is locked you are S.O.L. and the phone is dead. Follow this video and let us know.

If you can hold down volume and hit power to get into bootloader and choose Recovery, you can fix this phone.
Go here: read instructions at top. You will be booting to bootloader, then to recovery, then choose Apply Update from ADB.
Then give adb OTA command as described. Don't skip or modify any step.

I am in this exact same situation. Did you ever figure it out? Or did anyone figure it out?

Just use deuce script to flash the factory image guys. That's what I did when I got the no os message. Mines started when I ignorantly thought I had to relock bootloader before flashing stock.

Locked bootloader wont let me use the script.
If your bootloader is locked with no way to unlock it, and with no working recovery, you're screwed. The device needs to be sent to Google to fix, which is rather problematic when the device is in a country where it wasn't sold.

According to your device it shows oem unlock l. Which means locked. This device looks to have Knox guard mdm service. Looks to be leased. It is permanently locked until removed from Knox mdm server.

His isn't that issue. Look at his download mode info. Bootloader l. Which means locked. Any that can be unlocked display a u I believe. I had this issue on another device. It's all caused by Knox guard and buying subsidized device

Hey brother have you solved that issue ? I've the same problem too, no OEM unlock option.
Hey,
It will depend on your baseband version if you have a snapdragon S20/S20+/S20U. See the thread below about how it can be done and what baseband/bootloader is required to unlock.
no OEM Unlock toggle in dev options
as stated in the title on my s20 plus (SM-G968W) there is no toggle for OEM Unlock, its been a long time since ive tried to root and from what ive been able to pick up from googling is it may not be supported for my country or cpu manufacturer...
